5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP

Pros: Good Price; Good Wifi Range

Cons: None I can think of at the moment

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my desktop to pick up Wifi signal. I've lived in everything from a house, to an apartment, and currently in a 4-story building, and I can usually get good signal. I mainly use it for my desktop and as a backup if my laptop's internal wifi isn't strong enough.

3 out of 5 eggsstopped working

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP

Pros: Worked for just under one year. Bought 09/21/13; today is 09/17/14. Worked well for when it did, and I got a pretty good signal.

Cons: Turned on the computer today and cannot find the device. Tried different slots; looks dead to me.
Round design makes it bulky and blocks adjacent usb slots.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and Reliable

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP

Pros: - Fast
- Adjustable antenna

Cons: - Round Design can prevent adjacent USB slots from being available, if the USB slots are very close together.
- Light is rather bright

Other Thoughts: I've been using this adapter for about 7 months. It has always given me strong performance and no disconnects or inexplicable lag during games.

A couple things to watch out for though: The light on the unit is bright blue, so if you have trouble sleeping with lights on, if this is on a computer in your bedroom, you will likely find it annoying.

Secondly, the drivers on this must be installed from the CD unless you are connected to the internet already. So make sure to plan ahead and ensure you can install the drivers for this adapter to the target computer.

Lastly, if you choose to connect this device to a desktop machine, in the rear, you may find that it's round footprint will block one or more of the surrounding inputs.

My 5-egg score, however, is entirely for the performance and stability of the device, which was nearly perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP

Pros: Nice aesthetics, comes with installation media, easy to install and setup. No hassle. SpeedTest shows it gets the full speed of my wifi internet.

Cons: Somewhat bulky. I have a Netgear adapter that is about 2/3's the size that has the same performance. Blue status light is useful, but a little distracting at night.

Other Thoughts: Bought on sale for $9.99 through NewEgg discount. Connection problems for my Windows 7 desktop, but that computer has problems with every adapter I've tried.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP

Pros: This device has provided excellent speed and reliable connectivity on my HTPC for about 6 months. I liked it so much that I bought another for a friends recent build. the device feels solid and well made.

Cons: The drivers can be a pain to install. I am using windows 7 and in both cases I had to search the disc for the proper driver instead of using the built in installer. It asks you to allow the installation and to check always allow. I end up in a loop. Once its installed though, no problems. Took away an egg for that.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Wireless Card

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP

Pros: Card was easy to set up. Antenna is flexible

Cons: The base is bulky and doesn't fit on theb ack of the tower. If you put it in front, you lose access to another USB port.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Range High Speeds

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP

Pros: This unit is easy to install and comes with an adapter so that it can bend 90 degrees and be pointed upwards (or downwards or sideways) so that it doesn't take up more than one USB port. The adapter picked up a two bar signal on Win 7 from over 200 ft away to my customers brothers house next door. The speeds from speedtest.net were 9.5Mbps download and 5Mbps upload. Which is next to zero loss of bandwidth. The signal is coming from a Cradle;point router receiving internet through a Verizon USB Aircard.

Cons: The unit is sort of big compared to other USB wireless adapters. The color is white. I would have preferred black.

Other Thoughts: I love Buffalo products. They have always been superb and reasonably priced and their tech support is awesome.

5 out of 5 eggsMint Linux Compatible

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP

Pros: Works out of the box with Linux Mint XFCE without any configuration. Great signal. From my basement I can connect through 2 concrete covered radiant floors to the router on floor two. What more could I ask for.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N150 Wireless USB Adapter - WLI-UC-GNHP

Pros: Picks up a great signal from a Cradlepoint MBR-500 Wireless N Mobile Broadband Router at a distance of about 250 feet, going through two houses and a row of trees. The signal was at two bars and download speed from speedtest.net at 9.5Mbps and upload at 7Mbps. The aircard is from Verizon and the house is in the country close to the middle of nowhere. Also, it was easy to install and, of course, it comes with a 3 year warranty.

Cons: I would have preferred the color black.

Other Thoughts: I love Buffalo.
