5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: This definitely does support 64 bit operating systems. I'm running it on windows 7 64 bit, and have been for a long time.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsNo 64-BIT OS Support

Pros: 5-Foot USB Cord.
Works Good on 32-bit OS's (XP,Windows 7 Tested)
Works a Described good/great.

Cons: No Support for 64-bit Operating systems. "The product does support 64 bits, but we don’t have any product in stock for testing we will let you know asap. Sorry for any inconvenience."
The GUI that comes with the device looks like a 5th grader programmed it. Just awful. During setup it asks if you want to use it or windows. I would recommend windows but you don't get the advanced settings.

Other Thoughts: Long Time Hawking Fan, till I had to interact with Tech Support, They had been slow, and phone support was foreign support. Phone support "Is your computer on?". Not very happy with support.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Awesome

Pros: I set this thing up on my desk, pointed off in some random direction and was getting 80kb/s download speeds. I'm on the second floor and the router is in the basement. I pointed this thing down into the basement and now I'm getting 1.7mbs download speed. On gigabit connection, wired, it takes 22 seconds to download a 48mb file. With this, through two floors, wireless, it takes 28 seconds. This thing is the awesome!

Cons: It doesn't point down naturally. If you're router is below you, you have rig the thing yourself to point down. I just taped mine to the side of my pc, which is under my desk and away from my feet.

Other Thoughts: I connected to some signals at least 100yards down the st and was able to download at around 1.2mb/s with only a few bars. Also, you'll need to use the included software and connect with it, to see the Link Quality, Signal Strength 1, and Signal Strength 2. It refreshes automatically every few seconds so you can see what quality connection you are getting as you move it around. Link Quality and Signal Strength 1 are at 100% for me, and Signal strength 2 is at 91%. I also noticed that many other signals were on channel 11, as was mine, so I changed my router to broadcast on channel 1. That helped too, but don't get me wrong, lining this thing up right is what really super enhances the signal. Though, even if you don't you'll get a good signal quality and be able to detect signals far away. Thinking about sharing a connection and giving up your internet bill for good? This is for you. Also totally legal if it's not password protected.

5 out of 5 eggsHawking HWDN1

Pros: I hesitated to even purchase this adapter. I am piggy-backing off a neighbor and they are around 300 feet away or more. I never really thought I would get a great link hook-up. I am able to find my Netgear WNB2100 at that far a distance. It keeps the connection but it fluctuates during the day and gets better at night. 10 to 24%. Since the internet connection is only around 2mbps I get the same download speed as with being directly connected to the DSL router. Very happy with tha!! There are a few trees and it is going through a trailer wall on the other side. Pointed through a window on my side. The software that it comes with is useful but I had better luck not using it. Just using manual configuration for my ad-hoc wireless set up on my side. I am going to switch that back to ethernet though because it is such a pain-in-the-axx with wireless setup. I will get a router on my side for that later. Easy driver installations with both XP and Windows 7 64-bit.

Cons: Only thing that I kinda hate is the base of the unit. I guess it is made to sit more on a floor though. That is OK I knew that before I bought it. I won't knock any stars because of it though. Good job from Newegg!!***** I get all my computer stuff from them.

Other Thoughts: Wished it came in camouflage since I have it in my den with all my hobby stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsHawking HWDN1

Pros: It works like it should. Unlike the old usb wifi adapter. Point it in the direction that gets the best reception and your ready to go.

Cons: A little expensive, but I don't mind paying a little more for somthing that is made to work good.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice, Worth The Money

Pros: Well, first off the thing just looks cool, but it works too . I am running Windows 7 Home Premium and didnt need to install any driver, windows installed it for me. I ended up installing the driver anyways because the software that came with it is feature rich so i use it. I came from using a Belkin 54g pci card and never being able to connect anywhere without being right beside the router so this is a huge relief because now i can connect at my own desk. The packaging is also very easy to open without destroying the boxes so if any issue were to come up it would not be a hassle to send back.

Cons: The dish has an angle, so when i put it on an a flat surface it faces up, while my router is below its angle, not a huge deal though, i just have to prop it and everything is okay.

4 out of 5 eggsworth the money.

Pros: i just upgraded from my d-link 150 and I must say I am impressed by the speed of this thing. I'm getting about 120mbps on my Belkin wireless N router. I've never lagged with this thing at dling, uploading, games, etc.. Hawking did there hw with the satellite dish. the thing about the thing is about 6" tall..

Cons: the cd software was full of ****. Hawking should of had the installation on there website. I let windows 7 "re-install" using recommended settings even though I followed every instruction -____-

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: I live in an area where if I want free internet it's for the taking. I have about 5 open access networks within my grasp. I still pay for internet through my cable provider. just nice to know I have backup if needed. Especially how things are now. If needed I can drop cable like a hot potato and piggyback off a helpfull neighbor. Piggyback is ok, just don't be a compete pig and use too much bandwidth. This thing really is great for aiming around my apartment complex to find strong signals. Once conected with 2 to 3 bars it works flawless. The better signals for me are the 3 - 4 bars and I pick them once in awhile just to surf around on if my wife is torenting on our network.

Cons: Kinda big, got my dad the HWUN1 and I kept this Lost In Space one instead. To be honest I liked the HWUN1 better. Not alot better, but the size was better. Also seemed like the HWUN1 just picked up better than this one does. Unless I start aiming this thing around and pin pointing.

Price for this thing just seems too much. Go for the HWUN1 it's a little cheaper and does the same job and it's smaller.

Other Thoughts: This one is a good USB wireless adapter. I have used Hawking USB adapters from the start and have yet to be let down.

If Han Solo needs a new one of these to put on his Millenium Falcon he can use mine.

3 out of 5 eggsNot much better than internal card

Pros: Looks futuristic.

Cons: Not much improvement in signal strength compared to my internal card on my Inspiron 1720.
