HWUN4 External Wireless Network Adapter

Most Wi-Fi enabled computers inherently have minimal wireless coverage due to fixed low gain antenna. This results slow and unstable connections, or even no connection at all. The HWUN4 improves your wireless strength for a stable and uninterrupted wireless connection.



HOW IT WORKS

The HWUN4 is engineered with a Hi-Gain 3dBi to improve your wireless connection. The slim casing and rotatable hinge provide maximum compatibility for different type of USB port placements (vertical, horizontal, front, or back). Pros: It worked. I had connection. Speeds were ok.

Cons: It dropped out from time to time. Speeds would fluctuate significantly. Signal strength was stronger than my network card, but not enough that it was worth the purchase.

Other Thoughts: I don't think I would recommend this product to a friend.

Pros: Work's very well and has never seemed to lose connection. It has amazing signal too.

Cons: With windows 8 you would have to go to their site and download the drivers to run it. Not like that is a really bad con, just that it takes a bit more time.

Other Thoughts: They may have fixed it and made the CD work for windows 8, but overall it is a great network adapter and I plan to buy another one for my desktop.

Pros: fits in usb slot

Cons: faulty. takes ages to connect network, then often drops out and cannot reconnect. range is not the issue. thought about updating drives but manufacturers website is so disorganised that I could not locate any. wireless adapters at a fraction of the price work far better.

Cons: Drivers are a bit tricky

Other Thoughts: Simple to setup with the included cd, looking for updated drivers was a bit tricky as hawkings website does not have a downloads page that i could find.

Pros: Found the Windows 8 driver on the Hawking Technology Website. The first few times I went there, I was directed into their online store where there are no links to drivers… Then I figured that out and went directly to the support site. Found the Windows 8 drivers...

Cons: Giving it 3 stars because the Windows 8 Hawking application that configures the HWUN4 CRASHES the computer every time I tried to add a wireless profile. Using the Windows method, however, I was able to configure the thing and get it online… So it's working...

Other Thoughts: I couldn't see how to delete my first review, so… Here's the one clearing the air a bit...

Cons: No driver for Windows 8.1… The driver on the install disk was not compatible... I'll gladly change my review when I find one, but after two days of searching...

Pros: This is a good adapter small, and out of the way. It does what it is supposed too works like a charm, and great reasonable download speeds. I haven't fully tested it yet,but it should do great for Internet browsing and gaming, but for downloading large files probably not.

Cons: Could have a more updated version with faster download speeds. It wasn't free.

Other Thoughts: Great device for the average user just make sure to install the drivers before inserting into your PC.

Pros: I using this adapter like 15ft away from the router work excellent. No complaint after a week using it. Very fast!

Cons: Nothing at all this product ran great.

Other Thoughts: Great product. I would recomended for office used and home used.
