4 out of 5 eggsGreat range, aggressive appearance

Pros: My office had a need to extend WiFi coverage to our vehicle service shop, for our data-intensive fleet management software. Nothing else I tried (range extenders, smaller antennas, etc.) could cut it. But with five of these antennas (3 connected to an Asus RT-N16 router running DD-WRT firmware, and two connected to a Linksys WMP600N card in a Dell PC out in the shop) mounted up on 15' poles, I'm getting a solid 130 Mbps connection at the out-building. Laptops and other devices also benefit from the increased range & power of these antennas. (I'd estimate that I'm able to get a connection as far as a half-mile away).

Cons: Lightning arrester is difficult to install. Would be helpful if it could be attached directly to the base of the antenna, then to a grounding pole, but because of the antenna's design, with the silver "pole" that holds the antenna base covering the connection, the lightning arrester has to be installed in-line with the cable. Also, the necessary Hawking cables to install these antennas are not included, and Newegg did not have them in-stock (they have 10' and 30' cables, had to purchase from another source).

Other Thoughts: Line-of-sight is very important with these, make sure your poles are long enough!

5 out of 5 eggsMounting Placement is Key

Pros: First of all, this antenna comes with all of the required connectors for Linksys WRT model routers. It included a lightening arrestor, HAWKING HACST TNC to RP-SMA Connector Adapter (which costs big bucks by its self), and mounting hardware. DLink owners should note that DLink style routers use RP-SMA connectors so you won't need the extra fittings at all. This antenna feels well made and looks pretty stout.

Cons: I also purchased a HAWKING HACST TNC to RP-SMA Connector Adapter because I thought this kit didn't have one in it. I could have saved a few bucks there, but I'm sure it will come in handy anyway. You will need to get creative with your mounting to get the most out of this antenna. A 1,000mW (1watt) wireless booster might help you get the furthest distance out of this antenna. Finally, the 1.5 mile maximum distance is only achievable with TWO of these antennas, one on either side. My working distance is .25 miles so far (still tweaking my setup). Keep in mind that the longer your cable to your antenna is, the weaker your signal will be. If you can use a 10ft cable instead of the 30ft, then you will have better distance and results.

Other Thoughts: The antenna works best with line of sight and mounted high up in the air. I have it mounted on the roof, on a mast about 15 feet up, and just a few feet higher than the actual roof. I live in a dense area (trees, houses). Total height is about 35feet high. This is high enough to clear most of the trees and buildings around the house. Right now I can easily get a weak signal at 1,320 feet using a cheap low powered laptop running off the battery (wifi signal on my laptop is weaker when using the battery). So if you can mount it with line of sight, expect to get at least 1,200feet using nothing but the antenna and a linksys wrt-54gl router. When I plugged the laptop into the vehicle power, I was able to detect the signal at about 1800 feet/.34 of a mile, but was unable to connect to it (only one bar at that distance). The router is flashed with dd-wrt v24 sp1 in repeater mode. I am trying to bridge a connection that is 2,200 feet. Bought a 1w booster and indoor antenna 4 the other side!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome product

Pros: I have had 2 these for more than a year and they are fantastic. It improved signal in most of my shop and covers 3 floors. 9dbi is quite powerful. where i used to get 2 bars, i get 4-5 bars now. Very simple to setup and use. Great buy. Go newegg!

Cons: none that i see.

Other Thoughts: 2 HAO9SIP models are connected to my linksys access point. Antenna is almost 3 feet long with the mounting holder. (looks aggressive).

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Includes everything you need to create an outside access point. Lightning arrestor, and pigtails for both Linksys and Buffalo routers plus mounting kit for walls and poles.

Cons: Absolutely none. Fantastic product

Other Thoughts: I use 4 of these connected to Linksys WRT54GL routers loaded with DD-WRT in WDS mode. They are mounted to rooftops and serve 200 people in condos and have over a half a mile in range. For the price these are nice kits and make it quite easy

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: These high gain antenna's really show some power. The 360 degree's helps cover most of the places in buildings. Very effective. Mounting is easy too.

Cons: You might need to buy the N- extension cable.

Other Thoughts: This antenna is almost 3 feet long.
