Improves Output
- Pros: Used it to boost a Linksys WMP54GS Speedboast Wireless card with Hawking 30 foot extension cable to a wireless router atleast 300 feet away to inside another house. Did not need to use adaptors to connect to the card. Gives you a grounding coupling and pretty good mounting parts but may need some modification. Output of the Wireless card kept a stable connection with router.
- Cons: Other then price, it works for me!
- Other Thoughts: Overall wireless connection and download speeds would be better with an external antenna from the router but it still does pretty good video stream from Hulu.com.
Overkill for my Needs!
- Pros: So far connects my wireless router to computer about 200 feet away with 5 bars (100%) when before it 3-4 bars (50 - 80%) with lots of drops. Scanning for other nearby wireless sources has found 10%-20% increases on their signals.
- Cons: Price maybe. Bit of overkill but it works. Color I guess it could get dirty.
VERY NICE
- Pros: First - 5 star service from Newegg (1 day to receive item and that was with 3 day shipping)
Second - I was purchasing this for an outdoor project. However, I have a PC in my bedroom that doesn't get very good signal (2 bars, 4k sq. ft. home and AP is on other end of house). Anyhow, I figured I would try the antenna on my AP to see if there was a noticable improvement. 5 bars, 54mbps solid. Needless to say this one won't be used for the outdoor project anymore. It's staying right where it is and I am ordering more.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: I like the mounting bracket and included adapters. Made fitting my dd-wrt linksys a breeze.
