Rosewill RC-400 Networking LAN Card With Heatsink & 4 LED indicators 10/ 100/ 1000Mbps PCI V2.2, 32/64-bit, 33/66MHz

Pros: Fairly inexpensive, well built, works perfectly, exactly as advertised.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I was having issues with the ethernet port built into the mobo on an old server, installed this and it worked immediately without error and has ever since I installed it last week (and trust me I have put it through one heck of a stress test since installing it).

Pros: Installed on an old A7N8X motherboard. This is an Nforce2, single core Athlon system. Old stuff for sure! Downloaded latest drivers from Rosewill. My router now shows a gigabit connection. Seems to be working OK.

Cons: Nothing to report for now.

Other Thoughts: I hope the heat sync tape holds on.

Pros: 1) This is a very good card for the money. It does run hot with the Realtec chip, they all do. They supply a small heat sink with 2 sided tape to apply it yourself, because space might be tight in some situations. I like the 4 indicator lights and short bracket for low cases if needed, like older small cases.
2) Ingates that think they know something. It is 1000 Mega bits (Mb) per second card not MegaBites (MB) per second. MB vs Mb. Think about10 to 1 about. So 300MB is 3000 Mb. plus there are bottle necks like the PC, router,switch.

Cons: None

Pros: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bites – the system searched for the drivers, installed, rebooted and was already working fine.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: Shut down, install, reboot, driver loaded, internet works, buy more stuff on NEWEGG.com!

Other Thoughts: Haven't tested the NIC like a geek would, but did do a speed test. Tested at max download speed.

Pros: Plug and Play in Win 8

Cons: Speeds not true Gigabit due to PCI limitations

Other Thoughts: I installed it on an HP Pavallion PC running Win 8 ..

I installed Win 8 Drivers from Rosewill website , Installed this card ( after attaching heatsink which I think will disconnect overtime as the adhesive will dry up due to chip heating) , disabled onboards 100mb/s NIC in BIOS. Restarted the PC and it was live and working on my network .. I set Jumbo Frame at 7K which is working fine ...

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Only get 300-350meg outta these cards. Using a Rosewill 8port gig switch (RC-410LX). I get full gig speed on other gigabit cards running in same machines on same cables. I bought 3 of these cards and they are all the same. Windows 8, Windows 2012 Server and Ubuntu 12.10

Other Thoughts: It may be a firmware or driver issue, however I SHOULDN'T have to flash a new card and haven't seen any info about it. As far as drivers go, if you run anything newer than Win7 you should hope Windows8 or 2012 or Lunix auto detect them or you will have to try to find a driver off the cd that will work.

What heatsink? There isn't one.

Pros: Great price w/ free shipping $14. Put it in with WIN 7 64 Home to get better speed than on-board 10/100. Auto found and installed, no problem. Now I'm 10 times faster. I like the little heat sink and low profile bracket. The realtec chip does run hot on all NIC cards, like the Trendnet I previously bought. I also like the 4 led indicators.
