5 out of 5 eggsPerfect replacement

Pros: Worked perfect in my Dell desktop. Right size, right fit.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My on-board ethernet port decided one day to only work when it felt like it, so to Newegg I went to look for a replacement. This one was much better than my on-board was in so many ways. Installed drivers for it first, plug it in, and BAMM, away I went. Surfing the web once more.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far So good

Pros: 1st time for a Rosewill product. It works under XP-Pro SP3.
Was reasonably priced @$12.99. Re-ordered another. It works too. So far, so good.

Used this in a special config. Intel MOBO D915PGN. I would expect this product to work in other O/S's, like WIN 7, etc., The D915PGN board, LAN was an option. New boards, btw., 1st time a MOBO had LAN as an option....go figure!

FYI, Intel is going out of the MOBO biz in a few years, etc.,

Cons: Non thus far. These cards should be in one's backstop just in case your onboard LAN fails. I've never had one fail ever, but with the crazy weather we've seen, who can tell...

Other Thoughts: I'd never thought I'd be buying a LAN card. Nice if I could win the Superlotto....Someone else would be writing this review. I'd be chilling out on the sands of Jamaica and playing my guitars!

I usually write reviews after months, years of use. However, I think this review will stand. If the product fails I will come back and update.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm!

Pros: -Cheap, of course!
-Newegg delivery once again!
-Worked pretty much instantly when it was plugged in
-No problem so far

Cons: -Bracket is a little too long (the thing you screw in place on your case so it doesn't move, not sure how it's called in english, I think it's a bracket), so when you try to screw it thigtly, it'll come off and unplug from the pci slot. You have to screw it almost half the screw lenght to make sure it stays in place.
-Seems a little loose once in place, not a big cons tho
-The ethernet cable is really hard to unplug from the card, hopefully I don't need to pull it out verry often!

Other Thoughts: Had the motherboard ethernet port problem, where one day, your computer can't find the etherned device because it's in "deep sleep mode", tried everything I read on internet, nothing worked. I had to buy a card, chose the cheapest one, wasn't disapointed at all! If your motherboard's ethernet port dies or just don't respond anymore, consider buying this card, it really worth it!

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it should.

Pros: -Decent price
-Easy install
-Works great
-Linux recognizes it without any issues.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a temperamental ethernet port in an older Dell computer that my folks have. Popped it in and had it running within a few minutes. It works equally well under Windows and Linux (XP and Xubuntu dual boot).

1 out of 5 eggsNever Worked

Pros: Cheap, arrived quickly.

Cons: Never worked. Once. Contact points had several marks on them. Prevented computer from booting.

Other Thoughts: OS: Windows 98 SE
Emailed Rosewill, no response.
Going to avoid Rosewill.

3 out of 5 eggs50/50

Pros: Cheap! Straight forward installation. No driver conflicts with 3 other NIC cards in the system including a Rosewill dual NIC card.

Cons: Ordered 2 cards, 1 was DOA.

Other Thoughts: Luckily I didn't end up needing the second card, but it would have been nice to keep it as a backup. Not worth the return shipping to RMA it.

I hope this DOA is not indicative of Rosewill manufacturing QA. Will try my luck with another brand next time.

2 out of 5 eggsProduct finally arrives

Pros: Ethernet card works as described.

Cons: How can a product that is shipped from New Jersey go to Kentucky on it's way to Pennsylvania. Tracking indicated a delivery through Kentucky to PA delivered 11-2. Package got to my door on 11-12 in an envelope postmarked from Whittier California.

Other Thoughts: Free shipping isn't worth it if a package goes around the US or the tracking and delivery date is incorrect.

3 out of 5 eggs3 out of 4 isn't terrible?

Pros: When they work right they self-install on win7 and work right out of the box @ 1gbps.

Cons: One out of the 4 I purchased would only work on 100Mbps. Needless to say I'll be RMAing this one.

Other Thoughts: The NIC says on a sticker: tested OK. Well it wasn't tested @ 1gbps because I slapped it in 2 machines and it would NOT go past 100Mbps, even after manually selecting the speed in it's properties.
