1 out of 5 eggsDidn't really work

Pros: Product looks professional, well packaged, arrived quickly

Cons: Apparently does not work with windows 8.1.
After installing the card and drivers, it caused my HDD to make A high pitched buzzing noise. Also, never really provided a stable internet connection and gave my PC constant BSOD errors. Removed card and drivers, issue stopped. Wish I could give it a higher rating, but again, card apparently does not work with Windows 8.1

5 out of 5 eggsGreat adapter for WinXP & Win8.1

Pros: This card has the Ralink 2561T chjipset, and one may search for drivers for that chipset if the Rosewill drivers don't work, although I had no issues with the supplied drivers. It installs in just a few minutes and works well for WinXP & Win8.1 even though specs doesn't show Win8 support. For the Win8 install the Found New Hardware wizard doesn't detect the adapter, but simply running the "Install Drivers" that comes with the card installs the drivers for you. You do need to have Windows manage the wireless connection for WinXP and Win8 instead of the utility that comes with the adapter, but I prefer to have Windows do that anyway. Excellent signal strength and no problems at all, and I highly recommend this adapter..

Cons: Windows should be used to manage wireless connections if that might be considered a con, but I prefer to do it that way myself.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap
Name brand
Easy to install

Cons: Doesnt exactly work on windows 7... It took me a good month to figure out how to get the adapter and windows 7 to communicate correctly when starting up. Everytime i turned on my computer, i would have to go through the Windows internet troubleshoot and windows would reset the adapter and then it would work... I think Windows Update found an update for it and thats why it doesnt do that anymore.. The drivers on Rosewill's website and the CD are junk and out of date. Ill second guess Rosewill next time.

4 out of 5 eggsOk so far

Pros: Cheap, comes with both normal and low profile brackets. Works great once you get it working - see cons for explanation.

Cons: The included drivers and associated software caused a hard lockup of the pc when installed. Shortly after boot the pc screen would freeze and become unresponsive. No blue screen just a lock up. Once I removed the drivers and software and let Windows update install a generic driver it has not locked up and works well, no issues with generic drivers since.

Other Thoughts: The system I installed this in and had the lock ups was a Dell Optiplex 755 SFF that I'm using for an HTPC. Not sure if there is some incompatibility with the drivers/software and the dell 755. I did not test or try to duplicate the issue on another PC.

1 out of 5 eggs$10 for less than 2 months of slow connection

Pros: Cheap?

Cons: Stops working after 1.5 months

Other Thoughts: No more than 30ft from the router, and a signal passing through only one wall, I never got more than 1.2Mb/s download speed. After a month and a half of use, the card can't even detect networks anymore, even when I move the machine within 5 ft of the router. Don't buy. All problems were resolved when I installed another card, this card is worthless.

2 out of 5 eggsGood, if you're close to your router/modem.

Pros: It doesn't disconnect hardly ever and gives a really good connection to your computer with hardly any FPS Lag.

Cons: There are more cons to this wireless card sadly. If you are more than 30+ feet away from your router, you are going to have a bad connection with this. I constantly have a 300+ ping and I can barely talk in teamspeak or play online games. I would not recommend this card to someone who has a router far away in their house hold. My router was 45 ft. away from my desktop and I was constantly lagging and can hardly watch videos. It's a good card, but only if you're close to your router.

Other Thoughts: Buy the upgraded version of this wireless card, and really should come with a cable extender instead of being plugged into the desktop directly.
