2 out of 5 eggsPort forwarding does not work

Pros: Affordable price, three antennas.

Cons: Port forwarding and port mappings cannot be configured. Attempting to add entries to the port forwarding table causes the web interface to reload, but not changes are not persisted. Other people have had this problem. Upgraded to latest firmware 1.1.17, didn't help. Very poor quality control that such a simple feature doesn't work.

Would not recommend another Rosewill networking product.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you very much for purchasing this unit.
We strive to provide the most reliable and highest quality products to our customers.

Please check the following.

1. Enable the feature port forwarding/port triggering through the checkbox
2. add the port numbers and click on the "add" button
3. save the changes
4. reboot the router

If none of that works please contact us to better assist you in resolving your problem.

4 out of 5 eggs1 year 24/7 - no failures

Pros: 100% Dependable - Acceptably strong signal when stubs replaced by higher gain full wave antennae. Far beyond the service providers Cisco 1000 in performance and stability.

Cons: setup not straight forward as a secondary router on a Huawei glass fiber modem/router. Dead simple as a repeater but it required a couple tries to replace the original Cisco 1000.

Other Thoughts: My condo walls in Kuala Lumpur are seriously dense steel reinforced poured concrete and are real challenge to an N router. The old 2wire (att) G worked well but the DSL would not work with new full service fiber optic Huawei modem router.

4 out of 5 eggsNot perfect, but not bad either.

Pros: No-frills 802.11n router. Can create multiple SSIDs.

Cons: No DD-WRT support, no support for a change of DNS while using a dynamic IP solution (e.g. home cable internet) making OpenDNS useless for the router itself. No 1000M (Gigabit) Ethernet. That would have been nice. Worked buggy for a while, but put smaller antennas on it after using some massive ones on it were counter-weighing on it. With three antennas on it already, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Other Thoughts: It's a very good router, but my next one will need to have either Tomato or DD-WRT support, along with Gigabit Ethernet

2 out of 5 eggsWireless signal suddenly became unusable after a year of use

Pros: Good when it works

Cons: The Wifi signal was ok but not deteriorated quickly through walls. The Wifi became unusable after a year of use, connections dropped, weak and unstable.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked for me!

Pros: Works through floors, great range

Cons: First one died after two years, but outlasted 1 year warranty. I just bought a second one.

Other Thoughts: I have the router in my basement (next to modem) and the signal reaches to the second floor. I bought a range extender so now I have full bars to the third floor. Another wireless I bought couldn't reach the range extender at all.

3 out of 5 eggsOne year of Life

Pros: Worked well and easily set up out of the box.

Cons: Dead at 13 months. I needed to make a change in the router set up, but the router failed to take my password. I reset the router, the network connection was lost forever. I set to factory defaults ,and typical troubleshooting procedures. The router refused to use the standard 192.168.1.1 address and I could not get the network to see it. All lights were green on the router, so there was no outward indication of a problem. The router seemed to higher than normal temperature to the touch.

Other Thoughts: A new router was installed and immediately worked with my network. Best I can figure is that the rosewill router died.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat when it works

Pros: Easy setup
Inexpensive
Good range
Good variety of features

Cons: only 100Mb Ethernet ports
Stops working randomly after about 2 days

Other Thoughts: A very frustrating experience, this router. So I removed it and replaced it with something more reliable. I will think again before buying Rosewill products.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Have you tried restarting the router? Doing a hard reset with the reset button on the rear of the unit? Have you checked and verified the networking cable used are in good working condition? Tried connecting the devices into a different LAN port? If none of the suggestions were helpful, please contact Rosewill Customer Support at 1-800-575-9885 Mon – Fri 8am – 5pm PST for further assistance.

Thank you,
Rosewill Customer Care

1 out of 5 eggsSave your money, don't buy rebranded junk

Pros: It turns on when plugged in.

Cons: Doesn't maintain a usable wifi signal, repeater function does not work at all. I bought two of these in the hopes of covering my whole house, but alas I have replaced them bith with one Buffalo wifi router. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY THIS!!! I made the mistake if waiting until the return window ran out, save yourself the trouble and get a reliable router for the sme amount of money. Once again these are junk, save yourself the headache. I even put the larger signal antennas on and they did not help, they are useless too.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Connection is great and has a nice range. My walls caused a connection problem on my previous router. Price is excellent. I dont have to cover the lights because of how bright they are.

Cons: Installation was a bit wonky, but it only took an extra minute.

Other Thoughts: Very happy with this product so far. Definitly worth the 25 bucks.

2 out of 5 eggsUpdate: Repeater only worked for one day and once set as Repeater cannot reprogram.

Pros: Easy Set up following online directions or online manual.

Cons: Only worked as a repeater for one day. Once you program this to be a repeater, it will not reset. You then have a paper weight. Thank goodness for great Newegg customer service.

Other Thoughts: I see it's been discontinued after I have returned 2 of them.

Manufacturer Response:

Please contact the Rosewill support team either via phone at 800-575-9885 or via email at techsupport@rosewill.com so that we can assist you with your issue.
