5 out of 5 eggsExtremely dependable router

Pros: I own this router and it has been in continuous service since I purchased it in May of 2011.

Running 24 X7 X 365. Never even one hiccup. It's been completely stable and dependable as a rock.

With the 2T2R configuration and the "N" standard you get very good data throughput.

Cons: The only con is that it has been discontinued.

Range is adequate to good, but not remarkable.

Other Thoughts: I know that standards change and products come and go, but this router would still compare favorably to 95% of the products out there today.

Like all modern electronic products, some people are bound to get one that fails early or has problems. I'm sure there are people out there that received a bad RNX-EasyN4, but most of us have received great service from them.

I'd buy another one without hesitation if they were still available.

5 out of 5 eggsTruly great product

Pros: This is the best wireless router I've ever owned. Period. I'm an enterprise syadmin so anything I buy for the house needs to be (a) rock solid reliable; and (b) simple to operate. Before buying 2 of these I ran the legendary Linksys WRT54GL for ages. Both of these RNX-EasyN4's have been up and running 24x7x365 since delivered in January 2011.

Cons: Product was discontinued. Someone should go to jail for that decision. Truly a criminal act to let a piece of equipment this good go out of production.

Seriously though, the only limitation of this model is that it's not IPv6 ready. But then, neither are most home networks. All those legacy devices are going to require IPv4 NAT-ting for years to come.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome little N300 unit!

Pros: Lots of features! Easy enough to set up.

Cons: Its still going strong, so I don't have any complaints.

Other Thoughts: I bought this little guy back in 2010 and have never had an issue with it. Not even a minor hiccup. Buy it, seriously! Also be sure to check for updates for this unit every now and again.

1 out of 5 eggsnot goot for streaming a video from another computer

Pros: easy to setup. fast enough to surf. very tiny size to fit anywhere

Cons: i have 3 laptops, ps3, and smart tv on my same network. ps3 and tv works great when streaming a video by netflix or ps3 media player but while playing a video, if i download a file or do something from other laptops, it keeps dropping its connection so i gotta stop using one of my laptops to watch the video

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great no complaints

Pros: The price was right, it's compact, simple but effective web interface, came with handy usb wireless-N adapter. Have had zero problems so far.

Cons: Can't really say this is a con but it only reaches 2 houses down with the two 2dbi Antennas (5dbi would've been boss)? That's using my cell phone so I think pretty good. Haha

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the money

Pros: Low price, good range, 802.11N. Average set of features.

Cons: Physical modding of the router is required for DD-WRT. Poor design layout in router configuration page.

Other Thoughts: This is an excellent router for only $35. If you want something that's cheap and works, you can't go wrong with the EasyN4.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked Great for about a year.

Pros: Easy setup. lots of security options. Good price point.

Cons: Started resetting itself randomly after about a year of ownership. Empty log gives no indication why.

Other Thoughts: The interface could be designed a little better, but it's not a deal breaker.

2 out of 5 eggsOK, but

Pros: I have ordered these before and had mixed results. When they work, they work well.

Cons: They don't always work well, and some have quit after 45 days.

Other Thoughts: I buy these from New Egg and many times resell them to my customers. I have had 2 of these fail shortly after setting them up. The last one lasted about 45 days and then the lights just start flashing off and on. Tried to reset, upgrade firmware, etc. Only thing that works is to let it cool off and try again. Works for about 5 minutes then same thing. To spend the time on the phone with tech support, send it back for "repairs", etc., is not worth it. I just replaced both of the ones that failed with another model (one with a Cicso and one with another Rosewill). The first one that failed would not stay connected to internet. Replaced with Cisco and no problems.
