5 out of 5 eggsGreat networking switch

Pros: Great switch, does gigabit speeds, hasn't failed me yet.
Switch is very light.
Switch has LEDs which verify if something is connected with gigabit speeds.

Cons: Switch is so light that a small tug on an ethernet cord will send it flying!

Other Thoughts: Easy to install, looks great!

5 out of 5 eggsNot Just A Great Bonus Item

Pros: Free With Purchase of Linksys E3000 Router (Limited Time Offer Expired 06.30.2010)
Gigabit
8-Port
No Speed Discrepancy Over All 8 Ports

Cons: Free With Purchase of Linksys E3000 Router (Limited Time Offer Expired 06.30.2010)

I had a buddy who was going to get the Linksys E3000 Router to get this switch as well. The offer was valid by Newegg until 06.30.2010..when my buddy tried purchasing this on the 29th (1 day after I bought mine and 1 day before end of deal) they removed the switch from the deal. So my buddy hasn't bought the E3000 yet since this was an ultimate deal for his setup and mine..

Other Thoughts: Looked like a bad buff job on a black car, swirl scratches all over.. Good thing I care about performance and not looks..

I found using Time Warner Roadrunner with Turbo Boost that I had no change in speeds over all 8 ports, even the last 4 in which Rosewill states should be used for lower priority components. GREAT PRODUCT..especially when free. Either way I now believe in Rosewill products as good quality and performance not to mention bang for the buck..

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great, no problems

Pros: No issues, a no brainer upgrade - plugged in 1GB capable systems and instantly got a huge speed boost. Great for large data transfers. The included 1GB NIC was also a nice bonus.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I use it to support several systems running VMware and a home built NAS device, and the performance improvement between the virtual machines and the NAS storage makes it very worthwhile at this price.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Plug it in and forget it, it just does it's job.

Cons: None that come to mind

Other Thoughts: It works. No software, no updates, no fuss. I like that the first....3 I think... ports have priority over the other ports.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: I bought 4 of these for work. The free gigabit card and price was what brought me to this switch. All 4 work great and users have noticed improved speeds accessing files and databases.

Cons: None at this price point.

Other Thoughts: It did the job cheaply as possible and have been reliable at my work environment. 40+ hrs of use a week. They're always on.

5 out of 5 eggsLove the price/performance ratio

Pros: I've been stress testing it for a day now. Loaded several hundred gigabytes of data over it so far. Turns out the bottleneck is the speed of my source drives! lol

Cons: Power supply is dinky. What happened to heavy transformers? These paperweight power supplies make me wonder how long they will last. Someone told me they are switching power supplies.

Other Thoughts: I love that I got a free gigabit PCI card to go with it. That was awesome! I wasn't sure how Newegg would charge shipping for this item and the free item, so I had to ask. I had to ask 2 representatives to get a definitive answer: not good Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Plug it in and it works. Nice to have 8 ports instead of 4. According to Rosewill website, it's rated to 131 F. Nice to know I could put it in an attic if needed.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this and it came with a 1000mbps pcie card. I wanted to use the card in a 10/100 computer but found that the slot was blocked by a graphics card fan. Oh well.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsFlawless

Pros: Installation was extremely simple. Since I have put this switch into my cable box and turned it on, I never had a single problem with it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Replacing network switch was the easiest part of the home network upgrade (100Mbps -> 1Gbps) - installing gigabit network cards in several computers, replacing/re-wiring some cables, setting up router and PCs to use jumbo frames took much more time.
