1 out of 5 eggsDoes not see or connect to 5ghz networks, never has for windows 10

Pros: 2.4 ghz wifi works

Cons: 5.0 ghz wifi doesn't work at all and works slowly on the 2.4 ghz wifi

Other Thoughts: I have the RNX-N600UBE and it works for 2.4 ghz, but I bought this to connect to our 5ghz wifi. I thought that building a new pc and updating to windows 10 would be good, but this adapter doesn't work with windows 10 it appears. I cannot even see 5ghz wireless network.

4 out of 5 eggsWin10: Use MediaTek driver for 5GHz band

Pros: Has been a decent dual band USB wifi adapter for Windows Vista and Windows 7. Actually works in new Windows 10 (7/30/15). But you need to d/l the MediaTek driver. See notes, below. My adapter is labeled fcc id w6rrnx-n600ube. Somehow, I determined that the internals are RT5572. But I can't remember how I arrived at that. I bought my adapter in 2012 or 2013, I believe.

Dual band was automatic and flawless in Windows 7. Also worked well in Vista.

Cons: Loses the 5GHz band in Windows 8 and Windows 10. Needs a driver downloaded from MediaTek. The ones on Rosewill site won't work for Windows 10, or at least didn't for me. I still had only 2.4GHz using the download from the Rosewill site.

Other Thoughts: Windows 10 -- Go to MediaTek http://www.mediatek.com/en/downloads1/downloads/ and download the file labeled "USB (RT2870/ RT2770/ RT307X/ RT2070 RT357X/ RT3370/ RT8070/ RT5X7X/ MT7610/ MT7601/MT7612U)". The actual file is named IS_Setup_ICS_050615_1.5.39.126.exe. Install it. Then go into settings, Network & Internet. Disable your original or built-in wifi adapter if applicable. This Rosewill is labeled Wi-Fi 2. It shows both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band option there. Make sure Wi-Fi 2 is "On" and then connect to whichever band you want.

Apparently Win10 has the same prob a lot of people had with dual band adapters in Win8: The default Windows drivers are old/obsolete/incorrect only see the 2.4GHz band, not both. You can plug this in to Win10 and it will work, but it will only have 2.4GHz band.

Before I got the MediaTek driver, I tried the only semi-appropriate driver from the Rosewill site . It didn't offer me the 5GHz band. ymmv.

1 out of 5 eggsBiggest piece of garbage ever

Pros: none, this thing is complete garbage. Stay away from this adapter.

Cons: I'm running windows 7, and it RARELY connects to 5GHz. When it does connect, gets 2mb download on speed tests on a 100mb internet connection.

When connected to 2.4GHz, the downloads/uploads are disgustingly awful.

I have all updated drivers, and I even reformatted my computer to start from a fresh install of windows, and it still did not work.

I've been trying to figure out how to fix this thing for a month, but there's no answer. This adapter sucks.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from this cheap adapter, all it will do is give you headaches and aggravation.

2 out of 5 eggsone of two

Pros: like I mentioned in my remarks to the other adapter as I purchased 2 of these. 2.4 band works great but bought this for the 5.0 already had adapters for rosewill single band still workin great. figured I take advantage of the 5.0 but they just don't work all my other devices with dulband work great but when using these dual band 5.0 is defective.

Cons: never been let down by rosewill till the purchase of 2 of these adapteres

Other Thoughts: super disappointed in rosewill

3 out of 5 eggsShocked

Pros: It's a rosewill. Always been satisified with there products. I've purchased many many products from Rosewill here on newgg. This has been my first disappointment. well as for pros great signal as for distance dual band my 2.4ghz band works great great downloads and speed. but very disappointed with the 5.0. All my devices with dual band get great speeds on the 5.0 except the computers I'm using the rosewill adapters. the 5.0 is reading 2mb ,5mb speeds ruled out my computeres and my router etc as my tablets and phone show 60 to 90 speeds on 5.0. very disappointed next step guess is returning. Rosewill please help

Cons: 5.0 band defective. I purchased 2 of these both the same. I have rosewill 1 band adapters still going strong bought these to take advantage of 5.0 speeds if I knew these were not going to work would have saved my money and stick to my old rosewill 1 band.

Other Thoughts: will return these for different brand unless rosewill can correct this, like I said first time a rosewill product has disappointed me

Pros: The range is good as long as you have a good router to go with it. Plug and play with Windows 8.1. No complaints. Does what it's supposed to do.

1 out of 5 eggsNot happy with it...

Pros: I really can't think of any pros for this product.

Cons: Signal is awful, no matter what driver i install for Win8.1. My computer is located only about 40 feet from my Linksys E2000 router, and the signal is about 3-bars out of 5. Also, it was a hassle to get it to work properly with Win8.1, but when I finally did, I was disappointed at the performance. I also tried the 5GHz setting, which it saw my network, but wouldn't connect.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for the simple fact that I wanted to run my wireless network at 5GHz, but this device failed miserably. Maybe I got a defective device - IDK, but judging by reviews on Newegg and other sites, it's really a hit or miss with this adapter. It either works or it doesn't. I would return it, but it's not worth paying the shipping and my time to sent it back.
