5 out of 5 eggsRosewill RNX-N150PCe, Wireless N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: Works as advertised. I didn't do a speed test but seems up to the task, no noticeable delays or speed issues.

Cons: Installed from the included cd, client utility said to install card. Had to update drivers from the device manager and point back to the cd to get the card working properly.

Other Thoughts: I was a little hesitant to purchase this inexpensive wireless card due to some of the reviews. I am happy to report that after some finagling it is up and working well. Less than $20 well spent.

4 out of 5 eggsWhere's windows 8??

Pros: Easy to install, turned on the computer for the first time and it auto detected the network, just type the password and good to go. Decent signal strength. This computer is in my daughter's room across the house about 50 feet from the router through 6 walls and it still reads 3 to 4 bars of signal strength.

Cons: No drivers for windows 8 included??
I updated some of the motherboard drivers and for some reason the wireless card stopped working. I went to install the driver again and disc gave error stating that it didn't support my operating system. It's 2015 and they should have drivers for windows 8.1 on the disc.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I am happy with this wireless card. Almost went with a USB wireless but decided on this instead. I feel I made the right choice.

1 out of 5 eggsNot for WinXP

Pros: Quick & easy install, and for WinXP it works sometimes. I got another Rosewill adapter with RALink chipset that works flawlessly.

Cons: Constantly have to restart to get a connection and/or try to repair the connection. Repair sometimes works and sometimes not. Completely unsuitable for practical use in WinXP..

Other Thoughts: Over 4 hours spent including 1.5 hours on the phone with Rosewill tech support. Tech support finally told me this card has an Aetheros chipset which is more finicky and much less reliable than other adapters of theirs with RALink chipsets. Lesson learned and long story short, get an adapter with a RALink chipset instead.

3 out of 5 eggsExtra steps for windows 8.

Pros: Does its job without problems.

Cons: Instalation

Other Thoughts: It's not much of a headache as it is an inconvenience when you install it just to to tear it back out again to install the drivers if you have a windows 8 machine. We shouldn't have to rely on reviewers to provide us links that we should get on the product or specs pages. Even if you don't have a win8 computer the drivers are on a tiny disc that not all dvd drives will be outfitted to use especially if vertical.

Now that installation is over it works fantastic.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: I bought this for a workstation that needed wireless connectivity. It works as advertised. I did need to purchase an external antenna due to the configuration of my desk, but that's not a limitation on this hardware. Installation of hardware and software could not have been any easier - Windows 7 64b. It even came with a shorter bracket for small form factor towers.

Cons: none

3 out of 5 eggsGood Chipset Bad Manufacturer

Pros: It works.

Cons: The drivers supplied by Rosewill on their site for this product are terribly outdated, so much so it's odd. At the time of writing this their site says the Win 7 drivers were updated in 2011, yet the chipset manufacturers own site has drivers for Win 7 that were updated in 2014! I could not for the life of me get this card to work with Rosewill's drivers. The drivers supplied are unsigned, buggy, and even the install is buggy saying the card is not present to install the drivers half the time. I recommend going to Atheros's site and downloading the drivers for chipset 'ar9285' (again, at the time of this writing, technically Rosewill can change the chipset). After getting the updated drivers (which are signed) everything worked perfectly. You'll have to manually install the drivers by going to the device manager and specifying the location.

Other Thoughts: I understand things between hardware manufacturers and chipset makers are fragmented... But if I was part of the process I'd try and partner with them to make something similar to an RSS feed to ping me as the hardware manufacturer about driver updates.

1 out of 5 eggslack of wifi signal, frequent dropouts

Pros: cost.

Cons: low signal strength. varying speeds from slow to really slow.

Other Thoughts: put this in a new build and instantly regretted getting a sub $15 card. after a couple days of poor wi-fi performace (in a room where my laptop gets full signal strength), I bought a TP Link card that was like 3 times more money. way better performance that's actually usable. maybe this is ok if you're in the room with your router.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Choice

Pros: Great price (if it had worked)

Cons: Did not work

Other Thoughts: Well add me to the list of upset customers. My PC detects the card, and then while installing the software it says that the device is not inserted. Maybe I'll find my own resolution like the others here after a couple of hours, but for now, I am not happy.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks for me

Pros: Cheap
Works

Cons: I can tell that the range isn't that great. But the speed is OK, and for the cheap price, its a good adapter.
