3 out of 5 eggsGood Product Awful Drivers

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N150PCe, Wireless N150 Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (1T1R) Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates, PCIe 2.0 Interface, WPS supported

Pros: Much faster than a cheap WiFi thingy for the same price.
Windows 8 recognized the device right away.

Cons: Windows 7 refuses to recognize the device without manufacturer drivers.
The drivers from Rosewell's website didn't work for me.

Other Thoughts: This device is internally identical to a device made by TP-Link, using the drivers from their website allowed me to use this device. For reasons... I will leave the address to TP-Links page: http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?categoryid=243&model=TL-WN781ND#down

2 out of 5 eggswindows 8 works fine without installing driver

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N150PCe, Wireless N150 Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (1T1R) Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates, PCIe 2.0 Interface, WPS supported

Pros: well it works well on window 8.1 just plug it in then install the driver on rosewill website

Cons: It took me 2-3hrs to figure out which driver to install for windows 7 ultimate 64bit. DO NOT use rosewill drivers because it does not work! Use this:
https://www.atheros.cz/getfile.php

1 out of 5 eggsDrivers Not Digitally Signed

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N150PCe, Wireless N150 Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (1T1R) Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates, PCIe 2.0 Interface, WPS supported

Pros: Works great if, every time you boot your computer, you hold down F8 and force Windows to "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement." Unacceptable.

Cons: "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device."
Windows 7 64-bit will not allow this adapter to run. I initially tried the drivers supplied with the adapter on the mini CD-ROM. I even went to the original manufacturer's website and tried the drivers there (Qualcomm Atheros 9485):
https://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=60&system=5
I do not recommend this adapter if you have Windows 7 64-bit. Other Windows versions may have the same problem.
I am very disappointed in this purchase. Shame on Rosewill & Qualcomm for not taking the additional step to validate/register their driver with Microsoft. I will be purchasing a new adapter - one not made by Qualcomm, and one not resold by Rosewill.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks, but there were problems

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N150PCe, Wireless N150 Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (1T1R) Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates, PCIe 2.0 Interface, WPS supported

Pros: Plugs into the motherboard so there aren't ugly USB wifi cards sticking out of my case

Works well

Cons: Driver software doesn't work with Windows 8, making it a headache to get the card to work correctly.

Other Thoughts: Why the little baby CD for driver software? It's just... strange.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent wireless card for Linux

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N150PCe, Wireless N150 Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (1T1R) Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates, PCIe 2.0 Interface, WPS supported

Pros: This card has an Atheros chip on the inside, which makes it one of the best supported wireless cards on Linux. Rosewill's incarnation here is an attractive-looking card and works really well in a small-form-factor case.

Cons: I have never seen the card reach 150 Mbps, but this is likely related to other factors. My home network seems unable to push that much data over wireless in the first place.

Other Thoughts: If you need a cheap wireless card for a Linux machine, buy this one, no questions asked.

Pros: For 10 bucks it's all I need for a basic surfing the web computer. and viewing videos occasionally. Not much else that I can add that has already been said.

Cons: none

Pros: fast, stable

Cons: must use custom firmware, doesnt function correctly, do some research, youll find it, then its great, everyone has trouble with this chipset, get the custom firmware
