1 out of 5 eggsWARNING: Not Windows 10 supported

Pros: It was cheap.

Cons: Will not work on Win 10 OS.

Other Thoughts: I thought surely this simple NIC would be easily recognized by Win 10, wrong. When I contacted Rosewill tech support, see response below:

Thank you for contacting Rosewill.
We apologize that RNX-N250PC2 is not Windows 10 supported.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Wow, with customer support like that, this is the LAST Rosewill product I will ever by. I guess I should have read further down in the reviews. Maybe they should include what OS that support this stupid NIC. Might have saved me some heartburn.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsWorks!

Pros: When it works it works fast and smooth. Compare to the old 150 Mbs Wi-Fi card it replaced this card seems to work more than twice the speed of the old card..

Cons: I took off one egg because this card is finicky on which PCI slot it was installed. Had to do the slot switch till Windows 7 was able to see it.

Other Thoughts: If your card is not seen, or detected, by Windows, try other PCI slots. This took me some time but it finally worked.

1 out of 5 eggsrosewill site is bad as well as support

Pros: Worked after I got the software problem fixed

Cons: I had a neighbor order this card because she wanted to use her desktop wireless. It says it is easy to install but it was not on a windows 7 64 system. Every time I install the software the device manager saw the card and said it was working correctly. The only problem was that the utility software that came with the card would see the card but was stuck on advanced could not do anything else Also could not access the Wi-Fi with windows either. Windows said there was something wrong with driver. After googling it I saw that you needed to go to Rosewill site and download the latest drivers.
The only problem with that was that when you would go to there site then support the downloads and input rnx-n250pc2 if did not show anything. I did get a rude person at support that said that you had to go to home page and in the upper right hand corner type in the rnx-n250pc2 and then click on the writing below the picture and then it would show the driver. He said the card wan an old card and no longer made.
After installing the new drivers still not fix the problem. One of the drivers for the card in Device manager was vwifibus.sys a Microsoft driver. Googling it showed a post from 2011 where another person had problems installing a Wi-Fi card and the fix was to uninstall Zone Alarm the install the card.
When I did this the card worked and I reinstall zone alarm extreme and both worked. Would have got this fix sooner if there site would had let me go to support then downloads the input the card number and get the new driver. I spent a lot of time trying to get the latest drivers instead of finding the problem

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great I've had it in many pcs different motherboards ranging for old school to high end zero hiccups always worked well 300mbs means 300mbs I run it maxed out almost all the time

Cons: Do not lose your disk it makes it so easy to install drivers instead of using a different pc and a thumb drive to get them on your current one

2 out of 5 eggsA less than stellar experience with a middle of the road product

Pros: Worked under Windows 7 x86 Pro/Home
Interface availability for potentially older builds or not wanting to occupy a PCI Express slot.
Dual antennas.

Cons: Drivers PCI VEN #s for some reason don't match up under Windows 7 x64 Pro driver INF files.
Never got a chance to test the transmission speeds since I only installed it under x86 Home to make sure it "worked".

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card to upgrade my fathers ailing Core 2 Quad Q6600 desktop to hopefully allow him to limp along without having to rebuild anything. It worked fine as it should (its a wireless card for less than $40, can you really have a high level of expectation??) on Windows 7 x86 Home & Pro, but eventually my attempts to add slightly newer hardware just wouldn't work. I added this card, an SSD, an EVGA GTX 470 and a new cooler to his rig but after a few attempts at loading games and updating Windows, the system eventually would lock up on load, not even BSoD but just simply locked up. So ... it was time for a guts upgrade. I tossed the old board, ram & CPU into a corner in my office, got him a new Gigabyte GA-B85-HD3-A ATX board, Intel G3258 1150 CPU and 8GB of DDR3 for less than $150 and retained all other hardware. After formatting the SSD and installing the OS and updating Windows to the most current set of security updates, for some reason this wireless card was the only thing that was holding me back. I keep all drivers on my server for all hardware that myself, my wife & my parents have in their possession but the drivers that worked on Win 7 x86 Pro/Home would not work on Win 7 x64 Pro. I checked the PCI VEN information of the card and for some reason, it was off by 1 digit from what the driver INF file was stating it should be. I then opened a ticket to Rosewill which was not acknowledged or responded to for almost an entire week. After hounding their support system for another day I received the canned automated reply that they were very dedicated to supporting their customers and my issue was of great importance to them. My next reply actually came from a supposed live human being who told me that my issue was being submitted to their engineering team and I would receive a reply within the next 24 hours. Which was true, but the reply I received was the support team sending me a reply that was intended to go to a completely different customer. Strike 2. I then responded to this SNAFU to inform them that I was indeed not a lady named Ann and that I was very disappointed with the level of support I was receiving. I received another replying apologizing and stating the engineering team was working on the issue. Eventually I got a reply stating they were unable to replicate my problem and I should "uninstall the drivers and try to install them again" also providing me with a URL to the exact same driver package I had been attempting to use all along. I replied stating this was unacceptable customer support. That was 3 days ago and I still haven't received any further support or replies. This card was only purchased for two reasons, its price and its aging interface. I would suggest to avoid this card and if your connectivity relies solely on wireless, shell out another $20 and make sure you get a decent card, but then again, YMMV

EDIT - After purchasing a new wireless adapter and expressing how disappointed I was in Rosewills tech support, they offered to send me a refund for the cost of the adapter. Will update with positive or negative results.

2 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted

Pros: It worked without problems on windows 7 and on windows 10.... for a while...

Cons: After upgrading to windows 10 from windows 7, a couple months went by while this card worked fine, but suddenly it no longer works on windows 10. What I don't understand is this: why did it work for a while on windows 10 but then suddenly stop working?

Other Thoughts: No windows 10 support, so I guess ill have to get a new card.

4 out of 5 eggsI GOT IT TO WORK IN WINDOWS 10!!

Pros: Works great after the hastle.

Cons: not Windows 10 compatible out of the box

Other Thoughts: After messing with this thing forever I gave up and downgraded to Windows 7 not wanting to buy another Wi-Fi card. If you're tech savy and can take the time to backup your files and stuff, do a clean install of Windows 7, install the Wi-Fi driver from the disk or website(not the utility) then run the free upgrade to Windows 10 and the driver carries over and works great. a clean install of Windows 10 crashes or if you install the driver in Windows 10 it will lock up and you will have to force restart. Hope this helps :)

2 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy if planning on upgrading

Pros: Card works great with Windows 7 Professional and a Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BLK MoBo.

Cons: No windows 8 or Windows 10 support. Do not buy if planning on upgrading. Will cause system hangs and DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION errors. This is due to no driver support for either version and after contacting the company there is no intention of creating drivers for either version.

Other Thoughts: Good card if not planning on upgrading windows past 7 SP1.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it was made for

Pros: +cheap

Cons: None for me

Other Thoughts: Purchased to replace another wifi card in my wife's computer that I was having problems with. Works fine, occassionally drops signal (maybe once a month), but I can't honestly knock off an egg because it could be other things as well.

1 out of 5 eggsFreezes with GIGABYTE GA-Z97-HD3P

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Entire computer freezes with GIGABYTE GA-Z97-HD3P motherboard. This was not true with previous wifi card, which I wanted to transfer to another computer. Returned for replacement, and had same problem. Returning for refund.
