5 out of 5 eggsGood performance and good price!

Pros: Easy install, good performance, reliable,

Cons: None that I've experienced.

Other Thoughts: I own two of these and am ready to pick up a third. I've used this on a Windows Vista machine, Linux Mint 17, Ubuntu Desktop 14, Win 7 Pro and Home 64 and now on a Windows 8.1 Pro 64 box. It's been pretty much plug and go on all of these Windows systems. On the Linux boxes they were fresh installs with the adapter already in place. Have had NO issues with the two I own.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent WiFi-Adapter- ixfinity Hot Spot

Pros: i just got this product today and it gives me tons of WiFi signal with a percent % on it. Well i have ixfinity hot spot and i use the Rosewill software, it shows the signal percent % strength very strong WiFi adapter. i have 100% Signal Strength and 100% Link Quality. what i see in the software there is a lot of ixfinity WiFi Hot Spot signal and i can choose which signal i want to connect because i can see the percent % signal strength. I live in Apartment and i still get ixfinity hot spot signals too many signal strength to choose and it stays 100% signal strength. i hope it helps you my comments here.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: none

4 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work with Steam

Pros: Cheap, works, gets decent speed at a distance.

I get 20-50mbps on this adapter (120mbps wired, and I have a good router) and I am using it a floor above my router with lots of interference in between.

Cons: I rated this four stars because it is cheap and works as great as can be expected considering the price and just one antenna.

HOWEVER, when using Steam, the adapter stops working and has to be pulled out and plugged back in or disconnected from WIFI and reconnected.

Sometimes it will download fine for hours, but most of the time it stops working somewhere between 10 seconds to a minute after starting.

It works fine for multiplayer or just casually using steam, but as soon as you start downloading, your entire connection disconnects and you can't use the internet whatsoever without disconnecting and reconnecting.

Personally, I think this is a problem on Steam's end. I have no problems download from anything else or any other connectivity issues.

There are many others that have the same problem and no solution, so be warned. I will be buying a new card.

Other Thoughts: Works great as long as you are downloading from Steam.

1 out of 5 eggsworse than a laptop wireless

Pros: Okay for basic internet.

Cons: -doesnt even detect the N band
-internet crashes when doing heavy uploading or Skype video calls.
-worse than the integrated laptop wireless

Other Thoughts: I bought this external antenna modem for the greater signal strength, but i was dissapointed when shortly after my warranty ends that it crashes my internet when i Skype or do heavy uploads WITHIN seconds. What good is 300mbps then?

I won't be purchasing critical components from Rosewill anymore since their warranty is lacking.

5 out of 5 eggsDebian Works Great

Pros: Cheap, External antenna connector

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This won't work with a totally stock Debian wheezy install, but all you have to do is install the drivers from contrib and nonfree. If you want to have a purely free system, this card obviously won't work. Instructions are here: https://wiki.debian.org/rtl819x#Installation (the added step about RTL8192U based devices was not necessary).

I went from two bars to five bars on my garage computer using this and it ended the frustrating level of total dropoffs I was experiencing.

1 out of 5 eggsIt just doesn't work

Pros: good price, attachable antenna

Cons: No utility software, no connectivity

Other Thoughts: This device just doesn't work.
First off, it only comes with a CD that includes the driver set. The CD does not come with the utility software. Going to the device website, I found the utility software + driver. However the website download is very slow, very unreliable, and several times I had to restart the download for only 28 meg file.
Finally, after the drivers and utility software were both installed, the device found my network but it wouldn't connect to the internet.
My old device worked just fine. however I had to spend over an hour getting the old device to work because new utility software has a way of breaking old wireless adapter settings.
Overall, this device isn't really worth it. Not coming with the utility software is itself a turn-off, and it seems the device just doesn't want to communicate with your existing network to allow you internet access.
I'm using Windows 7, 64bit.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent, but poor quality.

Pros: Excellent driver availability and easy of install. Good signal strength through walls.

Cons: Crashes itself around every 15-20 minutes. Occasionally works for a maximum of 18 hours. Very unreliable.

Other Thoughts: It's a case of you get what you payed for. I'm sure this isn't a bad adapter for all. I'd suggest paying another 20 bucks and getting a PCIe card instead.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than most

Pros: I really like this little device. It works well on Linux, OSX, and Windows. I haven't had any problems with range, though I am usually not very far from my AP. USB is helpful for my devices without PCI slots. This is much better than a certain TrendNet PCI card I got that was total junk.

Cons: Only thing I can think of is the single antenna, but that hasn't given me any issues. Just a thought really.

Other Thoughts: Saw this on sale, so I thought I would finally get around to posting my review.
