4 out of 5 eggsAcceptable

Pros: Gigabit Switch, thats power efficient, runs cool and is quite reliable. 9kb packet support.

Cons: Occasionally it will drop packets, and have issues with QoS handling. Dropping QoS tags from the header.

Other Thoughts: NOTE: I cannot be sure its the switch and not something to due with my extensive network setup. Occasionally it will stop responding, data can be routed to hosts connected to this switch, but any switches below it will not communicate. rebooting the switch resolves it. - This could be due to my offices power, although as well...
This has only happened 2-3 times since purchase, and it was after heavy usage for hours, and then a cooldown period.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as Described

Pros: -Increase in overall bandwidth between HTPC server and other pcs on network.

Cons: feels cheaply made, plastic parts, but it is a Gibit Switch, it will sit on shelve, not move, so what could break. Overheating of switches not a big deal, unless ambient temperature over 90 degrees.

Other Thoughts: Can't beat the price.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes The Job!!

Pros: I needed to run my network capable Blu-ray player and my WD TV Live box through my home theater system. (Unfortunately the WD TV Live box does not have access to Ama*** Prime) Having only one network port near my system, it was easier just to purchase this switch than to install another network jack.. Currently not streaming 1080p video through my system, but know with this switch it will handle the video stream.

Cons: Prefer a metal case, but for the price it is perfect.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap Effective Switch

Pros: - Dirt Cheap
- Plug and Play (since it's unmanaged)
- I can fully saturate a single port from my NAS iSCSI drive and get full 1000BaseT bandwidth, so that's good.
- Did I mention how little it cost again?

Cons: The only issue is with the port LEDs. As some other reviews mentioned, the activity LED is the same color for 100BaseT and 1000BaseT. Not a showstopper, but the specifications tab clearly states that the LED indicators include speed. Well, I guess if you define "speed" as not zero, they work, but still.....

Reading a bit closer, the summary chart on a different tab copied from Rosewill DOES indicate no speed for the port activity lights on the 5 port model only, so shame on me for not reading EVERYTHING on the product page.

In any case, at this price point, not worth obsessing over. There are other ways to figure out if your connection isn't 1Gb.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat choice for a low price

Pros: Looks and runs great. Able to run two gaming PC's an XBOX and a 24/7 Media server with no problems

Cons: Feels cheap and I wish it was metal. It was working on and off for a good while until I reset my machines. Then it started working like a pro.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for a switch to go into my room for all my computers and my server and found this for $15. Thought that it couldn't hurt to try. This is the first rosewill product I owned and it has made a good first impression. I will defiantly be buying from them again.

4 out of 5 eggsAfter 3 years, has pretty much died

Pros: Bought this back in 2010. I used it for about a year, then changed to a different network setup. It worked great for the time that I used it.

Cons: After 3 years, when I plug in my wireless router, something on the switch hoses up the entire network and kills all traffic.
