2 out of 5 eggsRosewill RNX-N150PCx Performance

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Performance is disappointing regardless of driver used for both Win7 and Win8.1. I did not try it with Linux. It 'felt' like I was back on my 56K modem...it just didn't perform like my other inexpensive wifi adapters. Web pages would load very slowly...

For the price it's easy to dispose of...

4 out of 5 eggsGood for tinkering

Pros: Linux compatible chipset, great for dev work. I was able to set this card up as a WiFi AP for my network, while also providing an internet filtering firewall to block sites I didn't want accessed on my network.

Cons: Range is low with stock antenna. This is easily fixed with an aftermarket antenna and coax/pigtail.

Single channel WiFi: low bandwidth, max 150Mbps if you are in close range.

3 out of 5 eggsyou get what you pay for. . .

Pros: Corded antenna allows you to position it in better range of your router, which is good because. . .

Cons: . . . the reception is not very good. I originally attached a non-corded antenna to it from another card and I could not get above 1 bar of signal. after adding on the original antenna again and placing it around the corner from my desk I was able to get up to 3 bars. If there is any extra interference this card will still drop down to 2 bars.

Other Thoughts: Not a very good card, but dirt cheap. If you are just browsing the web and aren't too far from your router, go for it. If you plan on gaming or trying to stretch the range of your router, spend a little more on another product.

2 out of 5 eggsThis thing is terrible

Pros: It looks like it would be worthy of being a network card that requires external objects to be awesome... keyword: LOOKS

Cons: This thing is an absolute waste of time. It hardly keeps full bars when it is literally 5 feet from a router (nothing between). It drops connection if the antenna is moved/gains connection when you move the antenna. All around waste of money, space, and time. Pick something else. A dung-worthy "chain store with welcome to ____ being quoted by a senior citizen" is more likely to suit your needs than this piece of garbage. Not reliable, and the one I have is NOT broken.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Works from across the house
easy to install

Cons: Nothing I can think of

Other Thoughts: Using this on a desktop that's in our bedroom across the house from the wireless router. I put the antenna on top of the pc case and it has no trouble picking up a full signal.

4 out of 5 eggsLinux loves it

Pros: Works right out of the box with Linux Mint 16 and Fedora 20. I imagine most other distros work seamlessly as well. I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews that complained of difficult setup processes in Linux, but I'm happy to report that everything worked right out of the box.

Cons: Reception is not good. While my laptop has no trouble establishing a full-strength full-speed connection to the AP, this struggles to connect at 6 megabits. This happens even when I place the laptop in the same place as the antenna. The AP is about 50 feet away indoors with no walls in between. My laptop picks up about two dozen other APs, while this only picks up two.

The card has no problem staying connected. It just gets a weak signal.

Other Thoughts: Could I have a dud antenna? Possibly. However, this is one of (if not the) cheapest PCI WiFi cards on Newegg, and I wasn't expecting top-shelf performance. And because this is connecting an old office PC that sees minimal usage, and because it does stay connected, I'm only docking one egg.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It worked great at first, had no problems with it when I had Windows 7.

Cons: Once I upgraded to windows 8, it stopped working. Even though it says it has Windows 8 support, it doesn't work on it at all. I look at the official drivers, and they don't have any for windows 8. It's very obnoxious, but other than that, it's a good product. Anyone know a fix?
