5 out of 5 eggsVery happy so far

Pros: Very capable, plenty fast and inexpensive

Cons: None I can think of

Other Thoughts: This is a great deal- and not just "for the money"- it's a good router. I disabled WPS in the supplied firmware. It's not necessary to load DD-WRT. I have a Linksys WRT54G router that still works, and has served very well, but was getting a little stale. I had recently upgraded my Internet connection to one that's supposed to supply 20 Mbps download and 10 up. But I was only getting 8-9 Mbps downloads. Now I get 21 Mbps download speeds (wired Ethernet)- and the connection to our smartphones is at 65 Mbps! What a noticeable difference.

This thing has TONS of settings, and plenty of security features as far as I can tell. I should've done this years ago!

4 out of 5 eggsSolid N300

Pros: - Holds connection well
- Runs several wireless devices throughout the house
- Almost no downtime since setting it up

Cons: - None so far

Other Thoughts: Have had this for more than a year now and it's been a trooper so far. It's had to hold up 3 gaming computers, 2 Xboxs, a PS3, 2 laptops, 2 VOIP phones, as well as myriad smartphones and tablets without QoS problems or slowdowns.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Deal

Pros: Flashed dd-wrt and had it setup acting as a client bridge in less than 10 minutes. Seems solidly built and has huge antennas. For $20 this was a steal.

Cons: No 5ghz support or gigabit but that is nitpicking at that price

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have it in my basement and it works perfect throughout the house (and happily doesn't reach far beyond that). Speed is fine for streaming video. Supports tons of features and protocols. Reset and power buttons are in easy to get to (feel for) spots.

Cons: Documentation is somewhat lacking for the inexperienced user. Wish the antannae were easily removable. Has frozen once or twice. Not sure if it was this box or my switch. I'm okay with that either way. Never has a router that didn't on occasion though so I can't say its any worse than anything else. Not the fastest in the world, but great value for price.

Other Thoughts: My first wireless router. Follow the wireless setup guides from one of those "PC" magazines that specialize in "maximum" quality and setup is a breeze. It's very light, so the cables plugged into it tend to lift it off the shelf it sits on. Overall I'm more than satisfied.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat rotuer, easy setup

Pros: Easy to setup, supports WPA2.

I've had this well over 6 months and never a problem.

I used it as is (no DD-WRT) and it works well with built in Rosewill firmware.

Speed, range, etc all top notch. Signal strength in particular seems better, perhaps due to the bigger antennas.

I'm very happy with this and may buy a second one soon.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I've been very happy with this and would recommend it to friends or family.

Although I thought setup was easy, I've setup many routers and wireless devices from many different manufacturers, so my rating is skewed from experiences.

If this is your first router, it might be challenging as these things (any router of any type) have a lot of settings.

If so, get a computer savvy friend to help.
Once you've done one it is easy, and this is one of the easier units I've seen.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Router so far

Pros: Works as advertised. Better range that my old router (D-Link DI-524). Has been stable.

Cons: None as of yet

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an older router. It was my first "N" router, so I was doing a lot of research. For what I needed, this one has met all my expectations. The price was great and it's been reliable so far. I hear it also runs DD-WRT, so that's a plus too, but the stock firmware is working for me fine.

5 out of 5 eggssimple setup....fast....solid connection

Pros: simple setup
fast
easy to read indicator lights
price

Cons: would be nice if they included a stand to hold vertical

Other Thoughts: Its just a simple router - but its works. DDRT support - had it going in under 5 minutes. Much more stable then the NETGEAR it replaced.

5 out of 5 eggsperfect device for the money

Pros: got it when it had a $10 off promo code(possibly the best $20 i have ever spent
small device
good features
dd-wrt support
easy setup(atleast for me)
decent range

Cons: non-removable antenna's
range not as good as higher priced model but what do you expect for 20-30 bucks(still not short ranged in the least covers my whole house and yard)
not cheaper

Other Thoughts: ive only had it for about a week but it hasnt dropped connections
its range is more than my previous 30 dollar router
speeds are as listed

this review may change if it starts dropping connections or anything

4 out of 5 eggsOwn 2 of them, both as Repeaters/Client Bridges

Pros: I am somewhat of a WiFi junky, having played with every open source firmware under the Sun, not to mention various consumer router platforms. And I have to say, this N300RT is a little beastie. It's solid, has a strong signal and is quite stable. To top it off, it has plenty of memory and 5dBi antennas.

Cons: None really for the price. Don't go comparing this to more muscular routers like the RT-N16.

Other Thoughts: Repeater notes for those who are complaining that this device can not be used as a Repeater.

It *can* be used as a repeater, but the Atheros chipset is different than Broadcom ones. Simply install the most stable DD-WRT firmware, and configure the Wireless Mode as a Client Bridge, and then configure a separate (and different) virtual interface for remote clients to connect to. Done.

Also note that the Channel Width MUST be set to 20Mhz if using Client Bridge Mode, else the router will poop out and require a reset.
