3 out of 5 eggsGood on Windows Terrible on Linux

Pros: Works great for the typical windows user.

Cons: Driver support for linux is terrible. Even though this card boasts about supporting Linux, there have been no new drivers posted since Jan 2013 (kernel 2.9)

Only works for about 20 - 30 minutes before it starts to stop working and requires a restart of the host system.

1 out of 5 eggsRosewill RNX-N250PCe (RNWD-11005) Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps

Pros: Price, easy install

Cons: Would not maintain a constant data rate.. Uninstalled driver and reinstalled still very inconsistent signal. I would not recommend for any type of on-line gaming or videos. I tried downloading and installing the latest drivers from the web site but it didn't solve problem.

Other Thoughts: I have Rosewill RNX-N300X installed on a different computer and have not had any problems

3 out of 5 eggsBad drivers

Pros: Fast and fair signal strength after you get the latest driver.Very small size and large antennas.

Cons: Drivers stink and has a problem with random drop of signal.

Other Thoughts: Works ok but I would probably go another direction if I could do over.

1 out of 5 eggs(Win7) disconnects.... :|

Pros: cheap!

Cons: I keep getting disconnected. It will immediately reconnect but really sucks while gaming or watching a streaming movie. I have tried the drivers (1) on the CD, (2) drivers on the Rosewell website, and (3) drivers from Windows update.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked at first

Pros: The card is fast, easy to install.

Cons: I'm using windows 8.1 and from the other review I've seen, it doesn't work well with it. I've had this on my computer for a week now. The first few days it worked very well (slows down when downloading a lot), but afterwards everything started crashing. Every hour or so the internet cuts off, I have to restart my computer, or even reinstall drivers. I will get a USB wireless adapter instead.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy

1 out of 5 eggsWindows 8.1 Users BEWARE

Pros: It fits in my computer, and it probably works well when it works.

Cons: This product uses a Realtek Chipset. Realtek has not released any driver that the tech support at Rosewill could help me locate for this driver that is compatible with windows 8.1. I have somehow found plenty of comments on Newegg claiming this product "works great" with windows 8.1. While the Rosewill techs were nice, they were not knowledgeable. Three separate error codes came up when trying to use this device and install the correct drivers, the techs I talked to had no idea what these errors meant. The best recommendation I got from their support staff was to "Wait until a driver is released." Are you kidding!? So offended am I by the staff of Rosewill and so upset I am at Newegg for not addressing this in anyway in their product information (not to mention the copious unchecked comments of "It works fabulous in 8.1"), that I'm strongly considering turning the currently useless $1500 computer I have sitting at my desk into a doorstop.

Other Thoughts: I do have a return processing, but somehow I'm sure I'll get buttfucked out of shipping cost at the very least. I won't be buying any other Rosewill products for the lack of help I'll get assuming something is wrong with it. I guess it's my fault for assuming Windows 8 supported = 8.1 supported.

3 out of 5 eggsCard is "okay"

Pros: Cheap, high Mbps (takes all my router will give), dual antennas, and small form factor. Also looks awesome with the fairly large dual antennas sticking out of the back of my rig!

Cons: I'm a little disappointed as this card isn't the best for multitasking. When downloading something large like a game, this card is very slow when trying to brows the internet. Maybe it's supposed to be that way, but it bugs me because I have an eight year old laptop that I can totally overload with downloads and brows the internet all at once without any problems!

Other Thoughts: Rosewill is an awesome brand with good quality products. I've bought many things from them. As I said before, this is a cheap card (plus I got it on sale), so I might try and replace it later with something a little more expensive and not cheap out next time.

Who knows, maybe upcoming drivers will make improvements!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price. Does the job.

Pros: It works and works well. Good sized antennas give strong signal. Easy to install drivers that use built in Windows wireless service. Less CPU overhead + more speed than a USB WLAN adapter.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsLooks promising, but not compatible with recent Linux kernels

Pros: Card is tiny-won't take up much space in your case.

Cons: The Realtek driver for the chipset is not compatible with recent Linux kernels.

The antenna connectors on the back of the card are too close together. The two antennas are quite large and cannot be freely adjusted because they physically interfere with one other. The large antennas also get tangled with cables.

Other Thoughts: This card looks promising, but it won't work with the latest versions of Ubuntu (and other versions of Linux using recent kernels). The card uses the Realtek RTL8192CE chipset. The drivers for this chipset were provided by Realtek in 2012 and have not been updated to work with Linux kernels version 3.10 and higher (see kernel bug 60713). I'm keeping the card in the hope that the drivers get updated.

4 out of 5 eggsFixed and works fine now

Pros: It works fine now that I removed all of the provided drivers and drivers downloaded from the manufacturers web site and let Windows Update install the driver.

Cons: Shouldn't have been this difficult to get to work. The website and the provided disk should have working drivers.
