4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cost, size and performance. Very modest blue led, will not light up a dark room.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Installed on Win7 pro with provided drivers, no problems. Was watching Netflix and playing steam games in minutes.

3 out of 5 eggsLinux compatibility is over-estimated

Pros: Small, good data speed, easy to set up on Windows.

Cons: The product description claims Linux support, and provides a download of native Linux drivers. The download contains source files, which have to be compiled before you can use them. If you (like me) know your way around the Linux terminal, you can manage that. Unfortunately, they didn't work for me (Lubuntu 12.04). The system recognized the hardware, but could not connect to any network. I'm not sure where the problem is, but this product is much less useful to me without usability on Linux.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Nonsense Wireless

Pros: Rosewill sells some good stuff and this is no exception.
Speeds good for streaming hd content
With Windows 8 you only need to plug in your usb port and the driver installs.XP,Vista & 7 just install the driver only option on the cdrom.Works with the latest routers from comcast & uverse plus backward compatable

Cons: Wish i bought 2 of them

Other Thoughts: For newest router protocols you need a new wireless usb adapter ,not much need to pay more. The signal works well thru these thick cat 5 hurricane proof walls

2 out of 5 eggsInferior Product

Pros: Works, just not consistently. It came with a usb extender!

Cons: Connection choppy, tried 2 of them, same result then gave up.

Other Thoughts: No I would not recommend this product to a friend.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Good signal strength despite small form factor and no external antenna. Nice adaptor at a good price.

Cons: First unit was DOA, but Newegg/Rosewill RMA process was efficient and problem-free. Replacement unit works fine.

Other Thoughts: I was a bit chagrined that I had to pay return shipping on a defective product, but I knew those were the terms before I bought it. That fact might lead me to make future purchases from a local merchant, unless the savings at Newegg are enough to cover return shipping.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 10 seconds

Pros: Price

Cons: Worked for 10 seconds then died. Requested replacement.

Other Thoughts: Also bought a EDIMAX EW-7811Un USB 2.0 Wireless nano Adapter for$9 more. The Edimax worked first and was easy to install. Recommend Edimax over this Rosewill model.

After you pay shipping to send this inferior product back for a replacement you have spend as much as if you had bought a quality item in the first place. Be smart buy another model in the first time.

1 out of 5 eggsDont buy!

Pros: Price was good.
Worked with Linux (reason why I bought it).

Cons: Loses signal frequently and gets unrecognized by windows so almost constantly had to take out and plug back in.
Was working fine but then i needed to switch usb ports pulled out the usb and it literally broke. The metal part that goes into the port came lose.

Other Thoughts: This is good if you expect to to last 3 months or less but if you want something more reliable purchase a better brand than Rosewill.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked--for a while

Pros: It was easy to set up and it worked for almost 3 months without a problem.

Cons: It only worked for 3 months.

Other Thoughts: Worked great for three months. Then after about 5 minutes of use one day, it just stopped. Little blue light went out and it never came back on.

4 out of 5 eggsworks as intended, no documentation for Mac

Pros: Works as intended, allowing older computers, such as a G4 PowerBook, to connect to newer Wireless-N networks.

Cons: Complete absence of any documentation for use with Mac. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out why it wouldn't work, until I stumbled on the magic sequence that brought it to life.

Included mini disk is unusable in slot-loading drives.

Other Thoughts: Here's how to make it work on a G4 PowerBook running OS X 10.5 Leopard (probably applies to other combinations too):

0. Do not plug in the device yet!
1. Download and install the correct software (the mini disk is essentially unusable in a slot-loading drive).
2. Reboot when prompted.
3. Now plug in the device.
4. When OS X detects it as a new Ethernet device and prompts for configuration, confirm.
5. Now the Ralink Wireless Utility will open and you'll be able to configure your network settings.
6. Save your settings in a profile and activate the profile so your machine will automatically reconnect after a restart.

If you plug in the device first, the Ralink Wireless Utility will never open while you leave it plugged in, regardless of how many times you restart your Mac.

Doesn't hold a connection more than a few minutes. Only tried with WPA-2 but shouldn't matter.
