5 out of 5 eggsAdding wifi to a Motherboard

This review is from: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB USB Wireless Mini Adapter N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: Included a small cd with the drivers for Windows and Mac.
10 seconds after installing the drivers I had signal.

5 out of 5 eggsGood value, works well!

This review is from: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB USB Wireless Mini Adapter N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: Low price, WIFI-N support, small size, big value. This WIFI adapter works and works well and the price is just ridiculous for what you get. May not run at 300Mbs, but for what you pay, who is griping? And who really gets 300Mbs throughput from a USB WIFI adapter, anyway? Just buy it!

Cons: plastic packaging is a bit tough to get into. That is all!

Other Thoughts: Love these for easy setup and good connectivity. You won't be disappointed

5 out of 5 eggsOff Script

This review is from: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB USB Wireless Mini Adapter N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: After reading the specifications and the OS support, and not seeing Microsoft Windows Server 2008R2 on the list I had to try. I wanted to put a server at a location that was just not practical to run Ethernet cable.
This device is faster than a power line kit

Cons: At first installing this in the standard method for a windows device, it failed!
Using the device manager and the CD was the only way to make this device work.
I guess if it was going to be easy I would not have needed the CD.

Other Thoughts: Installing this device did take a quarter hour to get the system to accept the driver, but it was worth it.
I have excellent signal strength and data transfer almost as good as using CAT 6 cable.
Now I have the ability to use the server, and have it in a out of the way location.
If you use a device like this on a server, maximize all of your security on your router, I recommend no less than a mix of 12 letters numbers and symbols, all random.

2 out of 5 eggsGood for Linux... Not so good for Windows

This review is from: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB USB Wireless Mini Adapter N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: Works very well for my Linux partitions. Connects to my 45 Mbps router between 40 and 44 Mbps. No drivers needed with Linux.

Cons: The Windows driver disk provided is worthless. The program installs, but abends when executed. Tried to download drivers from Rosewill, but the driver web page no longer exists. For windows, there are better options.

2 out of 5 eggsWeak

This review is from: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB USB Wireless Mini Adapter N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Despite an advertised max speed of 150 Mps, I was able to get about 18 Mps (down) while standing 2 feet from a wireless 150 Mbs router. At 10 feet and a wall away, I got 4.5 Mbs (down). At 12 feet and 2 walls, the connection was pretty much toast.

4 out of 5 eggsGood I guess

This review is from: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB USB Wireless Mini Adapter N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: Good range
Decent speeds

Cons: Not really any, other than the annoying driver software. You don't actually need it.

Other Thoughts: It could be smaller, but for the price I won't complain.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's okay

This review is from: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB USB Wireless Mini Adapter N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: It's great in a pinch, like if you take your desktop along on a trip and don't want to pack a router and just hop onto local wireless or a phone hotspot.

Cons: It doesn't have great range, and rarely did I ever see the signal exceed 2 (of 5) bars.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill WiFi USB Adapter

This review is from: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB USB Wireless Mini Adapter N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: I originally purchased this 6 months ago and it just stopped working on its own-no connection blue light. I tried on another computer, same issue. I e/mailed Rosewill for an RMA and I got an e/mail following day that Rosewill will cover the cost for the replacement and Rosewill will not need the original adapter. Newegg shipped out the new adapter and I received it in 1 day

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Newegg has treated me very well on replacement parts and new items that I have purchased and very fast shipping times 1-4 days max

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB USB Wireless Mini Adapter N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: Good for the price.

Cons: If you have updated drivers

Other Thoughts: Because I had to get updated drivers to get it to work. Used a friends system to get them.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked for me!

This review is from: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB USB Wireless Mini Adapter N150 Wi-Fi Adapter

Pros: Compact
Inexpensive
Easy to install
Good Range

Cons: None (see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: Plugged it in, installed the driver and was connected to my router in under 5 minutes. Very straightforward install. It even intermittently hits a neighbour's wifi that is out of range for some of my other devices.

Only possible downside is that device seems to not fully utilize potential bandwidth (I get between 60 and 73Mbps with the device about 1m from the router). However, my internet connection and any streamed content on my local network requires less than this so it does not impact me.

So, for the price, it was a winner for me.
