1 out of 5 eggsToo small to be a good paperweight

Pros: None, since it does not work

Cons: I bought this to use in a Lenovo Thinkpad when the built-in Wi-Fi stopped working. It seemed to install okay (the O.S. is Vista), but does not work. Windows Network Diagnostics says there are "driver or hardware related issues", but Device Manager does not show any problems.

Other Thoughts: Usually I can troubleshoot and solve problems in short order. I have spent hours trying to get this adapter to work without success. :-( Arg!

5 out of 5 eggsJust works

Pros: - Just works
- Small
- Cheap

Cons: - Packaging is such that it is not obvious that there is a CD inside. Be careful if you care about the CD! I broke right through it. I didn't need the CD for the drivers, so this isn't work an egg.

Other Thoughts: Works with live copy of Xubuntu 13.1 with NO further work than just booting. As the title states, it JUST WORKS.

5 out of 5 eggsJust works

Pros: - Just works
- Cheap
- Small

Cons: None thus far

Other Thoughts: Plugged it into a new build with Xubuntu. I had the ethernet plugged in when I ran all the updates, so I am not sure if the drivers came with the default install or if they came with an update. At the end of the updates, I unplugged the ethernet cable, then entered my wifi information, and it just worked.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: small, cheap, works with windows and linux, 32 and 64-bit

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Works with good signal second story house opposite side from Netgear 3800 router. Neighbors with wifi not an issue. Download speeds test 12mbps same as other cheap adapters I have tested in that same spot. I personally would not use this for gaming if you are worried about being dropped but it works for downloading, streaming, and loading pages just fine. If you are using with linux and have issue with waking up wifi after suspend it is OS issue and not device. Easy fix just search... Wifi won't turn on after a suspend mode linux.

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: It doesn't work. I've got nothing good to say about it.

Cons: It worked great for a couple days, but slowly began dropping the connection more and more often - first every few hours, then every few minutes. As of now, one month after purchase, it's just a piece of useless junk.

I bought this adapter for my desktop tower. I've experimented by putting my laptop (which has a built-in Wi-Fi adapter) right next to my desktop, and when I do that, the laptop network connection works just fine. So I'm pretty sure that the problem is not with my router, but is instead with this adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsVersatile USB wifi

Pros: Plug and play at it's best. No trouble making it work with Windows, Linux or Raspberry Pi

I have used this with Kismet as well and has enough sensitivity to do the job. but it's just a dongle I don't expect a lot from it.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsWorks but short range

Pros: The Hawking has better range but sticks out too much. My son broke it so I bought 2 these for my wife's really slow computers. It does not give a 4 year old much to grab onto like the big Hawking one did. One is running Vista (a laptop with a bad wifi card) and the other is XP (Really old and slow desktop).

Cons: Sometimes (once a month) does not connect to my router and I have to reset the router. It only happens on this adapter my computer and smartphone never have a problem connecting to my router. We don't use them that often and I'm too lazy to dig in to find out why.

Other Thoughts: They were cheap and work for my application.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Strong connection
Tiny

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Works fine with Windows 8.1. Plugged it in and connected without bothering with the driver CD. As others have mentioned, cut along the top of the packaging so you don't damage the CD. It is a mini-CD so slot-loading drives are out.

3 out of 5 eggsRNWD-N1501UB

Pros: - it works
- it is really small
- everybody likes it

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: this wifi dongle fluctuates from 54-72mbs, but for $5.99 n free shipping, it rocks!
being so tiny, i wondered if it would pickup any signal at all.
thinking... aww c'mon, so maybe i was curious and bought it.
the drivers and setup util are just fine.

4 out of 5 eggsStandard Wireless Adapter.

Pros: Fast
Good range
Connects to my network
Very cheap!

Cons: The Driver Install DVD was inside the packaging. Said packaging requires you to cut open the package before you can get to the device. Almost cut right through the CD.

Other Thoughts: Change the location of the Driver install CD.
Note: The driver disk is not supported on slot loading drives as it is a Mini Disk.
