3 out of 5 eggsIt works well

Pros: cheap, simple, and performs as advertised

Cons: The 5 Ghz speed is abysmal compared to 2.4 Ghz. Even if I have a good signal and my router is outfitted correctly, it performs terribly. Oh well, not too big of an issue considering it's a cheap one but it's still a little disappointing

Other Thoughts: spend 20 bucks more on a nicer one I'd say.

5 out of 5 eggsGood hardware, Great support team

Pros: Hardware was recognized by Win8 immediately (though only 2.4ghz, see Cons)
Form factor is extremely slim and fit nicely in my case
Connection so far is solid, no issues

Cons: 5ghz band NOT supported by default in Windows 8, and the drivers that came on the included CD were out-of-date and only worked with Win7. Installing from the CD on Win8 caused the device to stop working entirely, not even recognizing the 2.4ghz band.

A quick call to tech support and I had the answer (download the newest version from the website) within minutes with zero hold time - very impressive.

Other Thoughts: The drivers are only available from Rosewill as an executable installer, not bare. I asked the tech if they had access to the standalone files and he told me to search for

Ralink RT5592

which is the chipset for the adapter. I was unable to find a download. Fortunately the executable installer worked great once I got the right version.

Windows 8 requires 3.2.13.0, the included disc only has 3.2.12.0. Be sure to download the new version before you take out your old wireless card!

Also, if you have an extended antennae from Rosewill, it is compatible with this card. The one I have has three connectors instead of two, but the card works quite nicely with a strong signal with just two connectors attached.

5 out of 5 eggsDriver CD Not Quite Up To Date

Pros: Dual Band, Wireless N, when it works, it works.
Driver software gives the nice option to install the driver by itself with OR without the WLAN Utility. An option I really like to have, but hardly is ever given.

Cons: Like the title suggests, the included driver CD wasn't exactly up to date. For quite some time I used the drivers provided by Windows, which only allowed the 2.4GHz band. The signal quality could be better. If you are using Windows 8, I would suggest downloading the driver from Manufacturer Product Page in order to utilize the 5GHz band, but to be honest, for what I use it for, I cannot tell a difference other than that 5GHz has a harder time going through obstacles, like walls.

I would minus an egg for the driver CD being a little outdated, but you never know how long the product is going to sit after being packaged so 5 Eggs here.

Other Thoughts: Rosewill has become one of my choice brands of computer hardware. Currently use a Rosewill case, Card Reader, this item. Their hardware does what it is supposed to do and have been quite satisfied with them

5 out of 5 eggsWorks and is fast

Pros: Plugged in, ran the CD, good to go! Worked well. Picked up to my 5GHz router no problem.

Cons: More of a Rosewill issue, but you HAVE to run the CD's .exe to install the driver. Cannot auto detect it. Kind of silly, but does annoy me.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Card came with 2 x 3dbi antenna and install CD. Driver install went flawlessly. Worked immediately. My wireless router is Linksys 54Mbps/g max, so I can't comment on the 150 or 300 Mbps or dual band function. However, the signal strength was only slightly stronger then my wireless 11mbps D-Link card. But this could b due to my router's transmission. It's also the lowest priced card in this category with discount.

Cons: Nothing so far. I only had it 1 day with no problems.

Other Thoughts: My setup is Windows XP with Linksys 54Mbps wireless G. At 86% signal strength, it's consistent connection. It comes with the latest driver from Rosewill for XP, Vista, and 7. There is slightly newer version if u have Win 8 i think.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap and fast

Pros: Cheap, good connection, easy to install

Cons: Sometimes, about every 10 minutes, I get small hiccups in signal. This isn't a problem when web browsing, but when I'm gaming it is quite annoying. Anyone know how to solve this?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat but not needed...

Pros: Very nice little wireless n card. Got it for free with a Rosewill T600N router. Great coverage area. works in all rooms of my house when paired with the identical router I bought with it. Antennas are a nice touch, insuring greater coverage area. Super fast speeds on this thing. When doing network file transfers on my old router it took somewhere between 15-20 mins to transfer multiple GB files. Now it takes about half to a quarter of the time. Love it so far.

Cons: None so far......it was free. Didn't we already go over this?

Other Thoughts: Didn't really need this. But it was free, so how can I complain? I normally just wire my tower directly into the router because I am constantly fighting for bandwith from the other two people with their wireless devices in the house. Yes I do a lot of big file downloading. After I got this, I was bored and decided to install it for fun to see if it worked. Being that it's only 3 foot from the router I didn't need to use it. But I figured what the heck. Downloads just as fast as being hard wired. Awesome IMO. Rosewill will always have my affection when it comes to little inexpensive products like these. Love 'em!
