Rosewill RPLC-200KIT Premium 200Mbps Powerline AV+ mini Wall-Plug Adapter

Pros: I plugged both units and connected them. 2 minutes later, I was connected and my AT&T microcel has been connected ever since unlike the wireless extender which dropped a lot.

Cons: Aside from the one time that I had to reset the pair because my internet went down, I haven't had to even think about this item. It just works.

Pros: Works as well as everyone says it does. Super easy to set up. So far never dropped a connection or need to reset any of the connections. Running 3 connections. I am running my connection host to client connection through 3 breaker panels with approx 500 feet of AC cabling. Works great so far. I have a metal barn that has problems with getting WIFI due to the metal shielding from the building. This has been a great solution for me

Pros: It definitely works.

Router is located on the second story of the house. While the PS3 is downstairs in the family room.

Cons: Was having issues early on, first few days. Changed a few settings on the PS3 and turned off the wifi and now it streams perfectly with netflix

Pros: Very easy to install, fast transfer rate compared to Wi-Fi, very good value.

Cons: Haven't found one.

Other Thoughts: I had been using Wi-Fi to access files from my desktop PC to my laptop. The transfer of a data file of 1 GB was painfully slow. It now transfers well within my patience limit.

Pros: Still functions as advertised, sends the signal through my home wiring at 15-20Mbps.

Cons: Usually about ever 10-15 minutes, we lose internet. Still have a wireless signal, but the powerline adapter is not transmitting through my home's power outlets. I have moved into 3 spots total, nothing seems to make it any better. Really makes my wife mad.

Other Thoughts: The soda can satellites work well for boosting range. Not sure if I'm going to keep these powerline adapters for much longer.

Pros: These really perform well right out of the box. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Cons: They don't have a plug on the front but I knew that. You don't realize how much you need an extra plug till you don't have it. Still a great buy.

Other Thoughts: For the price they perform far better than I expected. I was getting less than 1 MBPS but with these I'm getting over 25 with zero setup. What more could you ask for. I have these working in a 1100 SF apartment.

Pros: it works.

Cons: never had any Rosewill product before, and hey - it has great reviews, so i have purchased a pair.
ohh boy, i feel like an idiot, buying this after i saw the review and thought it is really a premium product.

2 month ago, i bought a cheap Chinese adapters (40$ including shipment) - i get 19-20Mb/s read speeds and 16-17Mb/s write speeds.

this pair of "Premium" adapters gets me 3-5Mb/s read speeds and 2-3Mb/s write speeds.

the math is pretty simple, i get abotut 4-5X times higher speeds with my cheap Chinese adapters.

did I say, i am an idiot?

1. The PLCs will need to be at the same power grid with the router
2. We recommend to plug the PLCs directly to the wall plug because the surge protector and power strip will degrade the performance.
3. Aging electric line may also reduce or affect the performance of the Powerline adapter.

Pros: It works. We can always count on Videos from wifi signal to drop, skip a second or more. With this, now the videos from TVPad in the basement don't pause.

Cons: Took 3 hours for it to work ? I opened up the package, installed one next to the router on 2nd floor, and the other one in the basement for TVPad. They refuse to communicate. Followed the quick instructions. For 2 hours, like a puppet on strings, I pressed the buttons on each within 2 minutes, and repeated the process. Then I read the full instructions on CD. Reset them, still don't work. Installed the software from the CD, and it found the device next to the router, but not the basement one. I believe they started communicating after I reset both properly, and waited about over 1 minute for them to recognize each other.

Other Thoughts: Remember to install the software. I waited 4 years to get something like this. Back then, only Panasonic made the most reliable product of this type. But expensive, and price kept rising.

Pros: Can be fast, depending on what power grid your main router or modem is at and depending on the distance between that chip and the next chip. Such as, the room directly across from mine receive 134mb/s speeds, but the living room about 30ft. away only receives 45mb/s speeds - having a 6mb/s internet speed doesn't make this a problem.

Can be easy to install, if you do it in the proper order.

Cons: In order to be "quick and easy" to install, you have to link them in the order that they are packaged. I was trying to link the wrong order for 3hrs straight, until I realized that they order from left-to-right out of the package. Thus, the one on the left is Device 1 and the one on the right is Device 2. Device 1 must be the main device linked to the router/modem. Device 2 must be the receive from Device 1.

I had bought 2 of these, so I then had to use Device 1 of package 2 as Device 3 (which it auto-recognized as such), and then Device 2 was recognized as Device 4. But you have to link them in order, otherwise you'll have a lot of trouble with it.

Other Thoughts: According to some video and article reviews that I've found, Power line Ethernet adapters aren't 100% using the fastest possible connection available.

According to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sue1Zvmh8JA, using a Power line adapter comes 2nd in terms of speed of the internet connection - direct connection via Ethernet cable remains at the top, with near-instant speeds.

Pros: Inexpensive, super easy to operate, a honest to Lord Mighty plug - n - play.
Just check your house wiring system to make sure it is compatible.

Cons: none that I can thinks of. Too bad I didn't buy more.
