4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works right out of the box, install driver and good to go! Decent speeds, down@5mb/s, up@700kb/s

Cons: After about 8 months of heavy usage, my connection would sometimes be dropped for ~2-5 seconds. This is annoying if you are streaming or gaming. I suspect this adapter to be the culprit

Other Thoughts: Got this for 15 bucks and served me well for 8 months. Time to get a new one

4 out of 5 eggsWorks, BUT...

Pros: After having damaged my ethernet port, this part was a welcome replacement. Sure, it takes up a USB slot, but would I rather pay $200 to have Dell come replace the board? No way. Thanks to this part, I now have access to both the internet and network resources.

Cons: Several have commented that this is Plug-and-Play... I didn't find this to be the case. I tried the drivers both from the CD and the website and got nowhere. I ended up going into the configuration settings and manually putting in an IP address, gateway, etc. It didn't take all that long, honestly, but it wasn't PnP for me.

Other Thoughts: The ability to access the network and print from my laptop again for $9 and less than 30 minutes worth of work? I think I'll keep it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Basic usb-ethernet adapter, decently long cord, works great to locate the onboard ethernet drivers

Cons: So far I have used this on Windows XP Pro (stripped down version) and Windows 8 x64. Both times I had to use the driver cd. I was hoping that it would be plug and play. Subtract one egg.

Other Thoughts: I bought this adapter to use at a computer repair shop. I was hoping it would be plug and play, but I will live. I can put up with the inconvenience for the price. It's not gigabit (I knew that)

4 out of 5 eggsIt's plug and play

Pros: Plug and Play on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Comes in an anti-static bag. Comes with driver CD, though it shouldn't be needed in most cases.

Cons: This was purchased for testing purposes only and will be stored in an electricians bag. No cap or cable management included.

Other Thoughts: As stated above this is for testing purposes only. It powers on and is recognized by the computer.
