1 out of 5 eggsWorst thing never buy here

Pros: worst thing never purchased, try to use 3 on the same network, that was suppose to work well but device alway's restart by itself.

Cons: do not purchased.

Other Thoughts: think your better to pay more than buying this!!i don't like wireless but really think to get an ap better than using this.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid connection

Pros: Worked straight out of the box. Provides a solid wired connection to a second router in an RV about 200 feet away from the house.

Cons: Data light is typically green but sometimes switches to red. Doesn't seem to affect the speed or reliability of the connection.

Other Thoughts: This was my first venture into powerline networking and I must say I am impressed with this especially for the price. Be sure these plug directly into the wall outlet, not into a surge suppressor/ups unit. If I were to wire my whole house up I would likely choose the 500mb version of these.

2 out of 5 eggsWill not work with WAN connection is using FIOS 50MB+

Pros: Worked ok, gave me connectivity but would not accept jumbo frames

Cons: Intended to use this to move my main WAN connection coming from my Verizon FIOS ONS. It worked fine when my package was set to 25/10, when i upgraded to 50/25 the use of jumbo frames on the WAN side will cause problems.

Other Thoughts: I switched to a TP Link 500MB model and it worked fine, ended up having to toss these.

AC/DC converters such was those used on a Router/switch, cell phone changers etc will slow down your speed with these. Putting a GOOD surge protector on this will help to alleviate some of these issues.

4 out of 5 eggsworks!

Pros: Plug and play, exactly like I wanted, for the right price. I live in a townhouse that is saturated with neighbors' wireless signals, so my own unit was having a hard time serving the whole house. Streaming video and networked file storage were barely functional.

Now I have my wireless router upstairs with one powerline adapter, and my entertainment center downstairs plugged into a cheap switch and the other powerline adapter. Network is fast and reliable. I will probably buy another set to make my office bullet-proof, too.

Cons: I actually had a hard time getting the encryption to set up, and I'm still not entirely sure if it's working correctly. Eventually, I just reset the bricks completely and started over. It would be nice if there was an 'encrypted status' LED.

2 out of 5 eggsEasy setup, poor stability

Pros: This was really easy to set up and get connected.

Cons: The connection provided by this device seems to be unstable, it frequently drops connection. The "Data" indicator light will randomly flash red a few times before switching back to green. For web browsing on a computer, this didn't seem to have much impact other than a page not loading and having to be refreshed once in awhile. But while watching a movie on Netflix, this resulted in video playback stopping every 20 minutes.

Other Thoughts: The primary reason I bought this is so that I would have a wired connection to my PS3 without running wires across the room, and this device has not lived up to expectations in that regard. While connected with an ethernet cable to this device, the Playstation reports a lost internet connection about once every twenty minutes. This lasts only 30-60 seconds before it is able to reconnect, but that is enough to make this unusable.

In conclusion, this is only good for situations that don't demand a constant internet connection because this will lose its connection frequently.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after 15 minutes

Pros: Worked immediately with no setup required.

Cons: After 15 minutes, one of the units died. The included utility can't find it. The power LED doesn't come on. Ist kaput.

Other Thoughts: Didn't work long enough to try the encryption functionality or check speeds. Of course I was planning to take it with me on a trip coming up in a couple days, but now I'm stuck.
