4 out of 5 eggsRosewell Adapter

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-AC600UB_v2.0, Dual Band Wireless AC600 Wi-Fi Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11AC IEEE802.11a/b/g/n, Up to 433 Mbps (5.0 GHz) + 150 Mbps ( 2.4GHz) Wireless Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface

Pros: It's a nice USB AC600 adapter. Everything worked well and it was up and running in just a few minutes. For testing purposes I am using my Linksys WRT1200AC. I have a 100MB/s down and 12MB/s up internet. I tried it from two locations in my house. First location A is 10 ft from the router in line of sight. Second place B Is located in my bedroom. One floor up two rooms over so about 150ft. Historically basic "N" routers could not reach this room and I had to use Power line Adapters. It all worked really well Location A was great Internet speed was 101 MB/s down and 8 MB/s up. 2.4 as well as 5.0 MHz. File transfer was 46MB/s Location B was also great. 104 MB/s Internet and 11MB/s up. File transfer was 34MB/s on one test and 62MB/s on another

Cons: None really

Other Thoughts: It's a great adapter. Works perfectly and was up and running in minutes. Very fast. I would recommend this adapter for anyone with a AC router. It can handle 100MB/s with ease.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great for about 2 months

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-AC600UB_v2.0, Dual Band Wireless AC600 Wi-Fi Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11AC IEEE802.11a/b/g/n, Up to 433 Mbps (5.0 GHz) + 150 Mbps ( 2.4GHz) Wireless Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface

Pros: The product installed quickly and easily, and picked up my wireless network quite easily. I ended up getting a better bandwidth than my old N300 adapter, and my ping times with online games were excellent in this time period.

Cons: As of lately (the last week), the adapter randomly drops its connection every hour or so, and it takes a few diagnostics to get it up and running again. I know it's not the computer, since it does the exact same thing with two other systems, and my old N300 adapter works just fine in all three machines.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I simply got a bad one out of the bunch. I don't know about its track record with other users, and I really liked it during those two months when it was working. I hope I can get in contact with someone at the company, to get an exchange.

1 out of 5 eggsTrust the reviews, don't buy it.

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-AC600UB_v2.0, Dual Band Wireless AC600 Wi-Fi Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11AC IEEE802.11a/b/g/n, Up to 433 Mbps (5.0 GHz) + 150 Mbps ( 2.4GHz) Wireless Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface

Pros: Worked great for the first day

Cons: Doesn't work after the first day or two.

Other Thoughts: I read the reviews on how the adapter doesn't work after a while, but i decided to test my luck anyway. Well, I was wrong. The thing worked beautifully for the first day then it wouldn't detect any 5ghz Networks. Even when i finally managed to get my 5ghz network connected it would only give a max rate of 54 mbps instead of the 150+ i got the day before. Trust me, don't buy it I already made that mistake. Overall, it doesn't work and it's not worth the time.

1 out of 5 eggsNot that great

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-AC600UB_v2.0, Dual Band Wireless AC600 Wi-Fi Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11AC IEEE802.11a/b/g/n, Up to 433 Mbps (5.0 GHz) + 150 Mbps ( 2.4GHz) Wireless Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface

Pros: Plug and Play on Windows 8.1 and 10
Very compact
Non intrusive led indicator light

Cons: Doesn't seem to get advertised speeds (at least on USB 2)
Provided drivers cause random crashes (for me anyway)
Died within 2 months

Other Thoughts: Decided to just (censored word) out on me, right before I wrote this, will not even show up in device manager, and causes search for new devices to freeze up. I don't think I will get Rosewill again (since my rosewill memory card reader (redacted word) out too.)

5 out of 5 eggsSolved Windows 8.1, 3945ABG problem

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-AC600UB_v2.0, Dual Band Wireless AC600 Wi-Fi Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11AC IEEE802.11a/b/g/n, Up to 433 Mbps (5.0 GHz) + 150 Mbps ( 2.4GHz) Wireless Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface

Pros: Works as advertised.
Worked immediately in Windows 8.1; didn't even need to run the enclosed driver CD.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: After installing the original $40 Windows 8 Pro and then upgrading to 8.1 Pro and an Intel 520 ssd on a 9-year old Dell Latitude D620 T2500 Core Duo I experienced intermittent flooding of Event Viewer with thousands of Event ID 5010 entries. Diagnosed the cause to be the old Wi-Fi card.

Turning off the internal Wi-Fi card and installing the Rosewill adapter solved the problem; faster response and improved battery life.

Helped salvaged a nice machine that otherwise might have gone to the Windows XP scrap heap.
