EAP3660 offers a "smoke detector" look, and is a high-powered wireless access point / universal repeater that operates seamlessly in the 2.4GHz frequency spectrum supporting 802.11b (2.4GHz, 11Mbps) standard and SuperG 108Mbps high speed feature. It is the best way to add long range wireless capability to your existing wired network or to add bandwidth to your wireless installation.

EAP3660 features high wireless output power and receive sensitivity along with antenna diversity. High output power and high sensitivity extend wireless coverage to reduce the roaming between access points and to provide a reliable wireless connection. It also reduces the total cost of ownership on hardware.

To protect your wireless connectivity, it can encrypt all wireless transmissions through 64/128bits WEP data encryption and also supports WPA/WPA2. The MAC address filtering lets you select exactly which stations should have access to your network. In addition, the user isolation function can protect the private network between client users. The attractive design, high performance and array of features make the EAP3660 a suitable wireless solution for your residence or office.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent AP

Pros: Impressive range. Reliable. Built-in POE. Easy to set up. Inconspicuous.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I don't get the negative reviews. I've set up 6 of these AP's at different office locations without any issues. The AP's are being used by all types of equipment (phones, PC's, Macs, tablets, printers, etc.) The range is excellent. I can access my 5th floor office WIFI from the restaurant across the street. I've had 1 unit running for 2 years without any drops. The built-in POE enables a very clean installation (like a smoke detector). I've has some bad luck with other WIFI products by Engenius, but the EAP-3660 is excellent. I'm doing another WIFI install next week and this will definitely be my choice for AP.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great form factor, good power and performance, very reliable. Excellent set of security options. Includes instructions for loading it with DD-WRT.

Cons: No POE adapter included. Webmin feels a bit dated.

Other Thoughts: I use these in residential healthcare settings and have had excellent results - one unit can easily cover an entire hallway and the attached rooms if strategically placed. I have had units in place at multiple locations for the last 6 months with no problems.

1 out of 5 eggsproblems...problems..and more problems

Pros: easy to setup and looks nice

Cons: have four of these and they cover the building great but constantly drop dhcp for clents. i know the clients ips are controleed by router but this unit just stops letting dhcp thru and drops connections randomly. reset unit and all is well for about 1 to 2 hours. plugged ina adifferent ap and no issues only with engenius . 2 of units have constant issues and other 2 are very random.

Other Thoughts: did a complete site survey for channel overlap or interference as well as tried no encrytion , b mode and g mode only and mixed modes to no avail. love the power but performance is critical i cant be resetting these every hour. newest firmware no help and hear reports of same issues with ddr-wrt also so not just me. be very careful and tech support no help at all.

1 out of 5 eggsSelf Destruct Button

Pros: They look really professional in an office environment.

Cons: Purchased 2 of these and both died within 8 months. The first one started having sporadic connectivity, then the web interface stopped functioning. Any device connecting to it would not obtain an IP, even setting an IP statically while connected, you couldn't get to the internet. Second one we tried to re-configure from scratch about 2 weeks after the 1st died by using the factory reset button. The factory reset button is actually a self destruct button I guess, because we were no longer able to access or find it again. Even in a closed network in our repair area.

Other Thoughts: Contacted support about the first one and they told us it was out of manufacturer's warranty and we'll need a receipt to prove we have owned it less than a year. That's fine and dandy, except now our accounts payable department has to go through 8+ months of receipts to find it. Contacted support about the second one failing, where support actually told us they are aware of the reset of death issue, and there is no way to recover the firmware. Again, we'll have to dig up our receipt and mail it in for a replacement. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Don't waste your time.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Range!

Pros: We used three of these to light up an entire wing of a building, 2 hallways on 2 floors. These units far exceeded my expectations in terms of performance. We used a Cisco Small Business 10 port PoE managed switch to tie it all together.

Cons: The admin interface was a little clunky, and we had to come up with our own mounting solution. Including a PoE injector would have been nice.
