4 out of 5 eggsGreat for G-class Wireless

Pros: Rock Solid
multiple SSIDs

Cons: only G-class

Other Thoughts: If you want 54Mb/s G-class wireless networking, this is the one. Unit is a solid performer. Never have to reboot or worry about stability. Don't be fooled by 108Mb/s (Super G-Class). If N-class

4 out of 5 eggsGood range.

Pros: The unit is easy to setup and has 600mW of power, I use these units in commercial buildings and can get 60-100' range when in the server room behind closed doors. Line of site I have seen up to 200 feet.

Cons: Once and a great while, every 8-12 months, I have to power cycle them. They do not do well with noisy power. Make sure you have a clean power source.

Other Thoughts: It is bright orange, and that makes it easy to tell the customer what unit needs to be power cycled.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat prosumer device

Pros: I bought this for home use because I wanted a WAP that would allow me to map VLANS to SSIDs... not I broadcast 3 SSIDs for the various virtual networks I have configured in my home. Device works non-stop for months on end with no power cycles needed... it gets warm but has been very stable. Coverage is the best I've ever gotten from a single AP - easily better than my Apple Airport Extreme; surprising considering this is only 802.11G. Fully satisfied; would recommend.

Cons: Doesn't include PoE injector.

1 out of 5 eggsThere's better things out there

Pros: High power

Cons: EnGenius Tech support warns you not to use it as a repeater

Other Thoughts: Called tech support with some general questions about setting these up as repeaters. The tech says 'we don't recommend these to be used as repeaters. You're going to have problems. Any of the other 7 modes are OK, but not as a repeater. We're thinking about taking that out of the list of modes'. Too bad their own website and box packaging says it CAN be used as a repeater. Not going waste more time to configure it then wait to see what kinds of problems crop up. Lots of better brands to choose from at Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: This little thing does exactly what it says it will do. Great at long range applications. This is the second I have bought. I first got them for work so we can program and sit in our trucks and do so. I have it housed in a tool box and converted to run off of 24vdc and 110. Well any way to say the least they get beat around a bit and sometimes sit outside in poor weather conditions and well they just work great....better than any other I have tried now buying one for home. So looking for a great product this is it. Oh yeah the range is excellent to I have been up to 300 yards away and still had good signal (line of sight of course) so thinking about it.. buy one beats netgear, dlink all that garbage hands down

Cons: It is orange

Other Thoughts: I dont mind orange that bad tho

5 out of 5 eggsSignificantly better Access Point

Pros: Transmit power setting by user. Of the various home office access points I have tried (Linksys, Netgear, Belkin, Trendnet), this is the only one that offers this feature. I boosted the power to 28dbm and got instant performance improvement on my network - without any change on the client side (5 clients).

Cons: Documentation (for the non-tech user).

Other Thoughts: I bought this mainly for improving RSSI on my clients in certain corners of the house. And this AP has done the job. Has saved the hassle and costs of upgrading to wireless N network all around. I get a reliable 12-14 Mb/s connection throughout the house - and am streaming high quality video no problem.

Though slightly pricier, it is worth the extra money. Will post in a few weeks on reliability.

1 out of 5 eggsVerry rude technical support!!!

Pros: EnGenius ECB3500 Looks like it may be a good product?

Cons: I just called technical support to ask a simple question 06-27-2011 ~11:15 am, on what I was asking My Tech Knowledge is only average but I know what I needed for information, the EnGenius technical support would not work with me on this simple question, instead he just hung up the phone, I'm glad I didn't buy this product, I thought it was what I needed but would never purchase another EnGenius product after that!!!!

Other Thoughts: I did try again to get in touch with technical support, they never picked up!!!! They must have caller ID and refuse to pick-up when they don't wont to!!!!
