Pros: While Engenius has a rep for really long range wireless devices this isn't one of them. The range is good, not great or outstanding. With 100mW and 5dbi ants, it gives good range. If it had 200mW or 9dbi ants it would have great range. The range is good enough for my 2600 sq ft house that it has no dead spots. It has gigabit ports which is nice, especially on a N router like this, you can be assured you get great thru put.. If you have a working unit, its fine for very basic use. If you are going to be doing a lot of port forwarding, VPN, and some other adv. features better read CONS now!

Cons: I could not get the USB port to recognize a HD without their driver. This limits access to only *ONE* computer. Not a dealbreaker but a PITA. Port forwarding has *ISSUES*. The fun one I found last night is that if you do a lot of port forwarding (>10 lines), this router drops *ALL* outbound DNS queries. I have a Synology 413j which runs as a DNS server. All internal master zones worked. Outbound queries completely stopped working. I had to remove several lines form the port forwarding table. Once I did, DNS worked again. So I guess I am out of luckon those services I need forwarded for now! Another con I find is that while updates to FW exist, there is no change log. Device has been at FW v1.3.4 but I just up'd to v1.3.5. Will this fix any of my numerous issues? Dont know, because this company is too lazy for provide a change log. How nice it would be to turn this into a just a WAP. No dice. Turned off NAT, FW, DHCP, et al. The unit just wont play nice and forward traffic through switchport uplink (not WAN but LAN port). Tried to make it a routed WAP using the WAN port.... freaking static routing doesn't work. The instructions are useless. Whats sad is just a little effort and this could be a really nice unit. I really wish this unit was DD-WRT or Tomato compatible. Might fix some of my issues and make me keep it around longer. I dont need 802.11ac, but this device falls short for what I consider myself as a power user. I think most people who shop on NewEgg are in this category.

Other Thoughts: I am a NetEng with 15 yrs exp. I have been able ot work around some of the undocumented features of this unit, but I cannot use all the documented features. I am not wasting my time contacting tech support. I ll just research other companies and their devices to see what better documented and supported. The documentation on this product is poor (i.e. some examples would be nice). This device has effectively made me never want to purchase another Engenius device for several reaosns: 1) Goto Engenius forums. They're a ghosttown. I didnt even bother posting because no one helps anyone. Not even Engenius's tech support. You would think they'd monitor and assist. 2) The documentation is useless. 3) The company is obviously lazy. Sad, really, because this could be a device that is really great. BTW, the current price is ridiculous. Better to get a new unit that is 802.11ac capable.

Pros: Works sometimes

Cons: I wrote a review stating the different problems I have with this router needing to be reset, dropping connections, adding latency, etc. EnGenius support responded and said maybe I need to change my settings or update the firmware. I'm an I/T consultant with very in-depth knowledge of these devices and I've had the latest firmware for months. TERRIBLE!!!!

Pros: Works well when it works

Cons: Often needs to be reset, also one wireless client has constant issues, but only with this router. Adds lots of latency to connections, the other reviewers who talk about these problems are spot on, not worth your money!!!!

Pros: Solid Interface, Stable Router, Nice Features, Reliable.
Engenius is now my main line for customers and clients. I have run into 1 out of 50 bad units. Maybe just luck but you can't argue with the results.

Cons: No guest network unless you have VLAN switch.(IE no guest network) VPN has been a little unstable for a couple clients.

Other Thoughts: Unless you run into a bad unit I've found these units to be solid. When you deal with clients who require 100% network up time you need stability. Range on these units is good...not the best.

*And as I mention in all my reviews..Cisco ea2700's are the worst routers ever. 25 bad and counting.

Pros: It has external antenas

Cons: Ok range. Bad NAT. drop connection . Slow WiFi.
Don't buy this router. I though I could upgrade from my Cisco N300 with tomato firmware on.I got 5-8Mps from this router compare to 2yrs old n300 I m getting 12-17Mps. It also drop connection quite a lot.I got new firmware. It's bad product.

Other Thoughts: I did try little off brand name router . It turned out bad choice.

1 out of 5 eggsBad NAT (redirects tcp requests to the cloud)

Pros: Turns on

Cons: NAT is screwy. About 8 months ago, installed this in a dentist office that uses client/server software. We had replaced all the workstations and server, as well as a new gigabit switch, cabling etc. New software was always sluggish. I had chalked it up to the new software being buggy (which it is). Last week there was a bug fix release for their software, which improved the speeds somewhat, but some of the software clients wouldn't connect to the database on the server. Windows networking seemed fine (could see all the machines) all pings to the server and gateway (this router) would come back with almost 0 latency as one would expect from a gigabit network, but the software would not connect, and would give a tcp request error showing 2 or 3 different WAN IPs. After a go around with their (the dental software) tech support, we decided it was a routing issue, and, low and behold, if I disconnected the internet connection, the system worked perfectly. I flashed the router with the latest firmware, reset to factory settings and rebuilt the configuration a couple different ways. (DSL modem in bridge with router handling PPPoE session) (reset DSL modem to let it handle PPPoE session and set the router to receive a dynamic IP) No resolution no matter what I tried. So I removed the router and went to just letting the DSL modem act as the gateway and the system works perfectly. Better than ever in fact.

Other Thoughts: The only way around NAT is to set up static routing, which I have no intention of doing. Will probably use this as an access point only. Now I'm seriously concerned as to what's going on with this router because I use this as the gateway for my shop as well. It was puzzling too that only certain machines were affected, insofar as they actually wouldn't connect to the server, ALL the clients were sluggish before removing the router. I ran virus and malware scans on all the workstations and they came up clean. Hopefully DD-WRT has a firmware for this router as I no longer trust engenius with my networks.

Pros: Sleek, removable high-gain antennas, fast interface, LOTS of options in the interface. Has Basic and Admin sides to the config.

Firmware update is easy to find.

Performance is solid. Love this unit.
Technical support at EnGenius speaks english, located in California and is 100% on point. The guy I spoke with was actually a wireless network engineer and actually knew what beam-forming and SNR meant.

Had this unit running solid with heavy daily traffic for over 6 months straight without a single reboot.

dual band.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Pros: Very fast when you are close to it.

Cons: Dosent cover my 3 bedroom appartment , very poor wifi signal , super short range , my old netgear rounder gets better range.
