4 out of 5 eggsGood little adapter

Pros: Good speed 2.4G and 5G supported

Cons: Windows 8.1 bug gets wrong driver installed.

Other Thoughts: For those who have Windows 8.1 watch out. Windows tries to install an MS driver not the EnGenius driver. If you only see 2.4G networks you have the wrong driver installed and you need to manually install the driver. Make sure it says Ralink (the chipset in this I believe) and you will be good to go...

5 out of 5 eggsIt works great!

Pros: It gives me FULL 300 Mbps throughput.

Cons: None! It works as advertised.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because my new Lenovo laptop only gave me 65 Mbps connectivity through its Broadcom adapter. Lenovo support couldn't solve my problem. This cured that problem.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat with Windows 7...

Pros: Cheap, works reasonably well as long as you aren't using Windows 8.1/

Cons: The provided driver for Windows 8 only allows 2.4ghz wifi with windows 8.1. There is no updated driver on the Engenius website to allow this adapter to work in dual-band mode. You will not see any 5ghz access points if you are using Windows 8.1

Other Thoughts: Wish I would have known it wouldnt work properly with windows 8.1 before purchasing.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Drivers from the disc work great on Windows XP and up (Yes, includes Windows 8 x64).

It doesn't seem to drop or reset connections and has low latency and decent speeds.

It's compatible with pretty much every wireless router since 802.11b including alternate bands.

Cons: The antennae is very directional and in general a bit weak.

The adapter isn't out of the box supported on windows or Linux, although installing the drivers is easy.

Other Thoughts: To be honest I've never had good luck buying a wireless adapter for anything. Either a device has it built in and works great or you can cobble it on with an adapter. This adapter is at least reliable and doesn't have terrible drivers which is all too common. I can say that this one gets the job done. I would indeed recommend it.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Dual-Band

Pros: Dual band at inexpensive $20 shell Shocker price. Have the only 5GHz product in my area, .very good performance at that frequency range.

Cons: The transceiver uses Ralink chipset and performs only average for the 2.4GHz band. My other realtek chipset transceivers perform much better.

Other Thoughts: Price/Performance is difficult to beat at this time! No issues with included software running under Windows 7.

3 out of 5 eggstake a while to figure it out

Pros: the adapter is great if it is working. The speed is very fast and almost comparable to the wire connection.

Cons: setup CD is useless.
Level 2 support from company doesn't offer much support.

Other Thoughts: Take a while for me to set it up.
The setup CD always get stuck.
I keep getting the drivers for this device are not installed error.
I called the support, reached level 2 support and was told that I need to connect to internet first. Kind of defeating the purpose of having a wireless adapter.
Worst of all, it doesn't work after I spent all the time to move my pc close to my router.
Luckily, I downloaded the drivers on the EnGenius webiste and device was able to reference the driver.
I give it a 3 stars because after I get it work, it is good.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor throughput

Pros: Small size. Fairly straightforward installation. (User guide says do it one way, installation software says do it another way.) Fairly inexpensive -- on sale -- but not the cheapest.

Cons: Poor performance. Poor range. Its small size means that its antenna does NOT grab wi-fi like units with an external antenna. Side-by-side performance with another USB adapter shows the EnGenius EUB600 to have -15dB to -20dB less signal strength. I won't be using this unit in its intended role, but I'll try it again if I need a wi-fi adapter 15 feet away from my wireless router.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm

Pros: Got it while it was on sale and it has not disapointed me yet! pretty fast too.

Cons: A little slower than a wired connection, but is better than alot of others. Anyways, you can't really beat a wired connection.
