5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfectly (Using as repeater)

Pros: Very simple setup wizard right on the device. Nice transfer speeds.

Cons: Once it's set in repeater mode, you cannot access the system settings. I wanted to test it immediately, and it worked great, then realized that I didn't have the latest firmware... rather than reset the device to factory settings, I'm just leaving it as-is (working flawlessly).

Comes with a laughably short length of CAT5 cable.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to create a WAP in my fiance's house for her 12 year old son. I need to connect his PC and his XBOX 360 to our fiber optic broadband, and wanted to avoid running more CAT5e. This ended up being cheaper than buying the wiring and hardware, to say nothing of easier to install. NO problems streaming movies and music to his room.

4 out of 5 eggsworks perfectly

Pros: Bought to make this as a repeater. Works perfectly. Very easy setup. Also allows my tivo share in the wireless network.

Cons: Once in repeater mode. No way to make changes. At least i could not figure out. The only way i see it to reset it. Not a big con for me because i am only planning to use a repeater. But reducing a star because of it.

Other Thoughts: Would have been nice that if it can assign it self an IP address when set in a repeater mode. Not sure it is device design issue or specs does not allow it.

4 out of 5 eggsEncore - ENHWI-2AN3

Pros: As an average user, this small size router does the job right out of the box. It took me under 20 minutes to set up my connection. Since I had read some of the reviews before hand and it said to do a firmware update.

Cons: Two bad tihings, the ethernet cable is kind of short(how much more it cost to make for 2 extra feet cable ?)and its not able to standup the unit (have to lay flat)

5 out of 5 eggsRepeater

Pros: Wireless N, easy set up

Cons: Not sure if this is a con or not, but unless you change the IP address to match that of your router's IP range, you can't connect via wireless. But you can plug directly into the device and access the admin screen without issue.

Other Thoughts: Setting this up as a repeater was straight forward. Skip the CD that comes with the device (did this based up on what reviewers said here). Attach a CAT5 cable directly to the device. Pull up he admin screen in your browser using the following IP: 192.168.0.1. Select Repeater Mode in the upper right hand corner. Select your wireless access point from the list. Provide whatever keys are necessary and you now have a repeater. You may need to disconnect and then reconnect your wireless devices to be sure their using the repeater...but you may not really have to do this.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome sauce

Pros: 25 dollars
wireless repeater
n speeds are you kidding me?

Cons: buggy to start i had to reset to factory settings 5 times because it would stop loading settings after i changed various things. uploaded newest firmware and it worked.

Other Thoughts: I'm not good at networking in fact this was my first wirless router i've ever set up and i managed to set it as wireless repeater. I rent and get internet from my landlord through concrete walls it wasn't working i just couldn't get a signal. using a speed app on my evo i found the signal comes through the window fine, enter encore router. setting it up was mildly difficult but i'm stupid and did dumb things because i didn't know what i was doing so it took me 1 and a half hours. after getting the settings right i set it in my window with just the power hooked up to it and it rebroadcasts the wireless signal beautifully in my apartment. Range is good 500sqft apartment it's in the corner and i get two bars(out of three) on my poor range cellphone at the other corner. my computer get's 54mbs instead of 11mbs my cell get's 3mbs vs 100kbs. i didn't loose any speed in repeater mode i get 4mbs on my phone next to router but the router only collects %75 of signal so 3mbs sounds right.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent router, customer service

Pros: Small, good range, n compatibility, easy to set up, inexpensive, excellent customer service.

Cons: Feels/looks a little inexpensive. Setup software didn't work for me.

Other Thoughts: When I was trying to decide whether or not to buy this router, my criteria was a n capable router that was easy to assemble that worked well right out of the box. I didn't want to bother with flashing it or installing some other firmware. I just wanted something that would work.

This fits the bill perfectly. It just works. Good speed, good range, good ease of use. The range is comparable to my netgear rangemax router and the speed is better.

When I tried to install from the wizard they provide, it wouldn't work. It got hung up on one step. I called their customer service line (a California area code) and was on the phone with someone in about 2 minutes. They walked me through the set up step by step. When we were disconnected because I have horrible reception, the guy promptly called me back. We got it up and running in less than 10 minutes, and its now my network is working great. Highly recommended.

1 out of 5 eggsNO AUDIO

Pros: I bought this card to cut down on cabling but I cannot get the audio to work.

Windows 7 shows Output not plugged in but I am using an HDMI cable to my Panasonic 50" TV.

I have downloaded the latest W7 drivers.

Cons: NO AUDIO, will be sending the card back.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Wireless and wired internet connections work fine. I have owned this for 6 months and it has been reliable for that time.

Cons: The setup was a pain! The provided CD was useless in that the install software was designed for XP and not windows 7. My recommendation, type in the default IP for the router into a browser while directly connected to it.... or call the help number and they will tell you the same.

But after the install, I have had 6 trouble free months.

Other Thoughts: Buy if the price is low... it does the job
