2 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: It connects..... sometimes

Cons: - Continuously disconnects
- Always has problems connecting
- Not good for gaming
- I get booted 50% of the time
- Loves to time out just when you need it.
- design takes up so much room, almost 4 usb ports because of the cheesy design.

Other Thoughts: This reminded me why I like to hardwire.

Pros: -Dual antennas
-Plug and play
-Works with windows 8
-Good reception

Cons: -Fragile

Other Thoughts: It works. If you're looking for something working out of the box, this one is good.
It started to not work properly, so I returned it. But beside that, it worked very well.

2 out of 5 eggsVery disappointed

Pros: Long range with unsecured networks

Cons: Connection is erratic with secure networks.

Other Thoughts: I was very excited when I received this device in the mail yesterday. Unfortunately, it refuses to connect to any secure network for more than a few seconds.

This is likely a driver problem, so I have downloaded and tried several different drivers (from the encore website AND the disc that came with it), but to no avail. The networks are WPA and WPA2, AES. In the days I've spent trying to get it to connect by uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, rebooting, troubleshooting, disabling and re-enabling, etc., it has connected to the network TWO times for no more than fifteen minutes in total, and as arbitrarily as it connected (for no discernable reason), it disconnected again.

I don't have a lot of money, and really needed to take advantage of my Apts. free wifi this weekend, so I am very upset with this device, as my situation currently stands.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: -Fast
-2 antennas

Cons: -Fat
-Drivers can get messed up
-Computer says that it can be performed better if plugged into a usb 2.0 slot, but it is?

Other Thoughts: It is fat, if put into an area that had usb ports around, it will "Semi" cover it up. You can plug other ports in, but it will be bending the usb plug.
I really recoomend plugging this into a USB extension cord to keep it from blocking ports.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Deal

Pros: Awesome adapter. Fast, and not in the way of anything. Small, so lots of mobility. Get 300mbps as advertised

Cons: I snagged my headphones on one of the antennas and now it wobbles. But that's my fault, no reason to take an egg

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended when on sale

2 out of 5 eggsCrapped out on me

Pros: Worked well for a while

Cons: Started having problems, had to keep restarting for the computer to recognize the device, then the adapter stopped recognizing any wireless networks, on any machine. Extremely frustrating as this was the only way my desktop was connected to the internet. Had to buy a different brand one and my machine's offline until it arrives.

2 out of 5 eggsStops working after a while!

Pros: This USB adapter is very easy to install (just plug-n-play), very fast, and has an excellent range. I had no problems with it at all in the first few weeks.

Cons: After a few weeks, I started having problems. The connection would suddenly drop for no reason. Major slow-downs occurred randomly. I even saw the bandwidth speed drop down to 7 Mbps from a usual 180 Mbps. That is unacceptable!

Other Thoughts: This adapter was great while it lasted. For the price it was really good, but you get what you pay for.
