Latest Wireless N Technology Enhances Performance and Coverage:
The ZyXEL WAP3205 brings you a faster wireless connection than the existing 11g networks. With a data transfer rate of up to 300Mbps*, which is 6 times faster than 11g, you can enjoy high-speed network connection and high-definition video streaming no matter where you are at home, and better yet, it also works with your existing 802.11b and 802.11g network.

Easy to Expand Your Network Wirelessly:
Some wired devices such as modems, set-top boxes, digital media adapters and storage devices might not be natively wireless capable. In order to connect these without additional wiring, driver installation or configuration, just plug the Ethernet cable into the WAP3205 and connect to another wired device to get connected wirelessly.

Extend Wireless Network Coverage with Most Popular APs:
With the built-in Universal Repeater mode, the WAP3205 can work as a wireless client to connect most popular access points, and simultaneously performs as an access point to provide wireless connectivity to all other wireless devices such as notebooks. In other words, WAP3205 can extend the wireless coverage to the entire home premise and enable all wireless devices to link to the existing network – this is especially helpful for larger home environments.

One-touch WPS button for easy wireless security setup:
Equipped with a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) push button, the WAP3205 makes establishing a secure wireless network easy. The WPS takes only a few seconds to set up a secure wireless network without any complicated procedures. Instead of entering a pass phrase, users can authenticate a new device on the network by pressing a single button or by entering an automatically generated PIN code. With the button option, users could even setup the wireless configuration and encryption with just a simple click.

Features:

  • 802.11n with Data Transfer Rate of up to 300 Mbps*
  • Backward Compatibility with the 802.11b/g Standard
  • Easy to Extend the Wireless Network Coverage
  • WPS Button for Quick and Easy Wireless Security Setup
  • Secure Wireless Communications with WEP/WPA/WPA2

*The theoretical maximum data transfer rate is 300Mbps, while the actual rate may vary depending on the status of network environments.

1 out of 5 eggsMy WAP Defective

Pros: I thought the software interface to the product was concise and well planned.

Cons: I received a defective product. I have seen the ZyXEL brand around for a long time. There was a discount for this Wireless access point and I thought it would be a good time to test it. Access point would hang after 1 to 2 days. May be just a bad batch but I decided to just return it and try something else later.

1 out of 5 eggsConsistent..at dropping connection

Pros: none.

Cons: Drops connection and requires constant rebooting. used it with a net gear, then I switched over to cisco. same issue.
it works for a bit then drops and requires a reboot. latest Firmware. its in a climate controlled area

Other Thoughts: I cannot understand the high rating for this device. maybe I bought it before the issues were posted by users. there seems to be common denominator in the reviews but no real fix. buy another device and save your $$$

5 out of 5 eggsGreat WAP

Pros: Quick setup, reliable, hasn't needed a reboot in 6 months.

Cons: Plain white plastic

Other Thoughts: I have a great deal of experience with wireless and networking gear in general. I've had fantastic performance from this device, it functions as a WAP, in an unattended installation. I haven't had a trouble call in the 6 months since it was installed.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy

Pros: None

Cons: Did not extend wireless range. Spent hours working on it. Had an IT expert also spend hours working on it and it did not ever extend the range. Would not recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Router

Pros: This is a great router for the money. It was a breeze to setup and maintain. Have had no dropouts or issues. The setup was very simple, saying that the paperwork is not as helpful as it could be, better to follow the setup in the router's web panel.

Cons: Paperwork could be a bit more helpful, but thats the only con I can think of.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great until it quit working.

Pros: Worked great until it quit working.

Cons: I'm no networking engineer, but this thing was a long way from plug and play. It took me probably 3 hours of trial and error to get all of the settings right.

Other Thoughts: Once I had it set up, it worked great for 60 days. Now I have to reset it daily to regain connectivity. I have an email in to the company, but I'm not expecting much.

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: Easy to set up, supports multiple security profiles, reasonably priced

Cons: Drops connections frequently, which requires the device to be rebooted for wireless devices to get reconnected. The wireless connection is there, but no data flowing. Now requires reboot almost daily, and on some days, several times a day...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little AP

Pros: Easy setup
Low cost
Works as advertised

Cons: It's not invisible, so it takes up space

Other Thoughts: There are always the experts that have degrees in everything that are unhappy with any product. I have two of these set up so that I can seamlessly travel around the house and stay connected. I never have any problems with these AP's. They work fine, took no time at all to set up and the cost was reasonable.
