5 out of 5 eggsSimply Amazing

Pros: It simply works! Very impressed.

Cons: None that I could think of

Other Thoughts: I am so far very satisfied with ZyXEL products (I bought one access point a while back and it had been working great as well).

1 out of 5 eggsDid not work with Ooma/VOIP

Pros: Easy setup - Just plug it in

Cons: Did not work with my Ooma box VOIP phone system. I wanted an easy way to move my Ooma box without running a LAN cable through my home. I was able to do this with the Powerline adapters, and I could make and receive phone calls, but the sound was is garbled that it was completely useless.

Other Thoughts: I did not test the adapters with anything other than my Ooma box so I can't say how well it would work for streaming any other data.

5 out of 5 eggsPlug n Play

Pros: As the title says Device was Plug and play, I have had no issues with it and been using it for 3weeks now to go from my downstairs computer room to my upstairs bedroom and that takes a trip through a breaker panel so its pretty impressive.

Great price.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsGood value, YMWV

Pros: Easy setup; basically plug and play. Reliable average transfer speed (at least in my environment) that works if WiFi is intermittent or not available as an option. I'm using this product to stream video from a 1.3MP IP camera to which I cannot run Cat5e and it works perfectly for my needs (5mbps avg).

Cons: Speedtests conducted throughout my house using Netcps averaged about 11mbps (1.45MB/s) which was a little disappointing (minus 1 egg). However, I'm doubtful I could do much better with another powerline product; I believe it's simply a matter of this technology in conjunction with my particular environment. I'm doing more research, but don't believe I'll be able to improve the transfer rate by much.

Other Thoughts: I flashed the firmware on these units with an updated version found on the website using Zyxel's firmware update tool. I found it strange that my units labeled PLA-401 v4 and purchased in 2013 came with 8/2008 firmware installed. After updating, the firmware revision is now 12/2009.

4 out of 5 eggsPlug-n-Play and mobile...

Pros: Very easy to use. Plug it in - router/switch detected it and I'm on the network. It makes for easy testing of cameras and devices you want to place in odd places. I'm glad I bought it and it will make putting my XBOX on the internet a lot easier than a 75ft ethernet cable in my house.

Cons: The downside is the speed. I have 46Mbps/6Mbps internet. On my main PC - that is what I get. On my WiFi - I also get that speed. On this Powerline connection - I'm topping out at 20Mbps, which for some people wouldn't be bad. I'm not disappointed with that, I just wish it was my full internet speed. It is also possible that it could be going through many different breakers to get to the XBOX/test laptop. Who knows....?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Plug in, run cables to it and forget about it!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I bought these because my wireless signal was not strong enough on the opposite end of my house to stream hd content without significant buffering.

I plugged one by my main wireless router and plugged in another on the opposite end of my house to a secondary wireless router in switch mode (to allow the main router to assign ip addresses for sharing). I have 5 bars wireless coverage on both ends of my house. Haven't had any issues streaming hd content. I like them so much I recommended them to my parents due to dead wireless areas in their house and now they have full wireless coverage as well using the same setup as I have.

Note my house was built in the mid 80s and theirs was built in the late 90s.

Buy these you won't be disappointed.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: Easy install. Low price

Cons: wiring dependent

Other Thoughts: Was having trouble getting a connection via wireless for our PS3. Even with a seperate TrendNet Access point. Switched to this and all seems to work fine. I don't get the nearly the max speed but that is probably do at least in part to our wiring. THe two rooms are on seperate breakers on seperate breaker boxes so we probablt pass through 3-4 to get from one to the other.

4 out of 5 eggsEasy and effective!

Pros: Works on any outlet. Almost not setup besided pluging in the ethernet cable.

Cons: It's a little bulky for an outlet and only way to monitor device is to see the status lights.

Other Thoughts: Used to hook up an xbox 360 to router, each in differnt rooms. Works well with online console games.

2 out of 5 eggsS L O W

Pros: Nice solid Adapter

Cons: Slow
Setup is Derpy, and will probably need to be done multiple times to get adapters to connect.

Other Thoughts: Obtained 3 Mb/sec on two adapters within 20 feet of each other, far less than advertised. Sometimes adapters wouldn't connect at all.
