1 out of 5 eggsReally, Really, Slow.

Pros: None

Cons: Runs slow. Like really slow. Used it on two different computers. Tried in the same room as my wifi router even - still slow. All my other wifi devices run really well - but I could not get over 3 mbit (yes, megabit) per second with this adapter.

My network is fully-N @ 300mbit max speed. Everything else (laptops, ipad, phone, etc) has no problem getting max speeds.

I wound up getting a long ethernet cord and using that instead, so I'll be returning this.

Other Thoughts: Patriot has good products. I love their RAM for instance. I truly hope I just got a defective adapter - but either way I'll be returning it. Would be nice if NewEgg didn't charge a restocking fee for defective/bad devices... but they will.

1 out of 5 eggsDashed Hopes

Pros: Price, Speed of Delivery, Install instructions written/edited by somebody who actually speaks English

Cons: Doesn't work on Windows Server 2008

Other Thoughts: I have a 2008 Server box that I had to move to a spot away from a LAN line. Thought I'd try the easy way out first by using a wi-fi USB stick. The box will only be there for a few weeks so I don't want to pull Cat-6.
Unfortunately this thing does not work on 2008 Server. The wi-fi adapter does not show up in the Network Adapters and there is no visible response when clicking on any of the .exe files in the cr**py admin tool.

I trust Patriot for memory & USB sticks - and this is the first time I've ever written about a cr**py Patriot product.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does what it says it would do. Very small and easy to transport if necessary.

Cons: None so far. Have been using about a week.

Other Thoughts: Seems to be very much worth the price at this time.

5 out of 5 eggsWIFI for Linux

Pros: Worked out of the box with Ubuntu. Excellent coverage. Fast delivery.
Can't beat the price.

Cons: Installation disc didn't auto start. User manual is on the disc. No real problems

1 out of 5 eggs300mbs? No Sir!

Pros: Fairly easy to install despite mini CD

Cons: I have an HP G72-250US laptop. I installed the device on the right side next to the CD. That was mistake since the device is wide enough to block the CD tray from opening correctly unless I mess with it. The biggest issue, however, is this device does NOT do 300mbs. I tried it with my Linksys E2000 and figured "OK ... older tech." I tried it with a brand new Netgear WNDR3700 Dual Band rated for 300 and SET to run at 300. 72mbs is all this thing would ever do. Yeah it was $20 but save your $20 and but something with an ugly antenna that works rather than something sleek that doesn't.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I'm old school but the mini CD made me feel like this was a toy and not real. Turns out that I was right.

4 out of 5 eggsworks...

Pros: fairly small, a/b/g/n. it works, decent connection speeds.

Cons: drivers are not the latest, and patriot does not provide the newest drivers.

Other Thoughts: for those that may need, the chip/model is RTL8192SU. the Mac drivers that ship only support Mac OS 10.6, so if you have a later version the supplied driver won't work. there is a 10.8.x release which is what i downloaded and installed. you can find it here:
