1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work for Mac OSX

Pros: Absolutely None. Worst product from LG... EVER.

Cons: To start, I am using Mac OSX 10.6. My Mac's airport no longer works, so I have to resort to a USB Adapter. Tech-specs say that it works for mac, but it definitely does not.

1. When the device is plugged into the USB port, it is non-responsive and does not turn on.

2. Mac drivers are not available online, only by the CD that comes with the adapter. When you finally find the .dmg file on the CD, you have multiple OS X options to choose from, with a "Note for Snow Leopard" readme file. See "Other Thoughts" below for the poorly written and unintelligibly translated text in this file. Who wrote this? A 5 year old?!

3. Once installed, I have 2 applications, one called "AwakeLGUI" and "WirelessUtility". AwakeLGUI does absolutely nothing, and since the adapter refuses to turn on, WirelessUtility simply displays "No Device!".

4. Support was useless and couldn't even find the model number for the product.

5. Returned to NewEgg.

Other Thoughts: Note for Snow Leopard. (You'll get a laugh out of this)

"If you got install failed message, please re-install again until success.
Because it is a bug on Snow Leopard.
There is no install setting for OS 10.6 on install tool, so we use OS 10.5 to instead of it temporarily.
We will update it if Apple update as soon as possible."

Question: How can a company as reputable as LG include instructions like this for ANY one of their products?? I'm disappointed in you, LG.

1 out of 5 eggsInsanely bad for Ubuntu

Pros: Works sometimes.

Cons: It's an awful product for Ubuntu, ostensibly because the manufacturer doesn't give an installation pathway other than say it supports Linux. Yep, that's it. So after getting device names and everything and making the driver manually I was able to intermittently get this to work. However, it died again and I have to retrace my steps. LG-Ericksson likes to pretend that this product doesn't even exist. Try looking for some actually useful Linux documentation online and you'll be disappointed.

Other Thoughts: For any PnP situation you'll probably be OK. I'm a little disappointed but this is an excuse to get a better product with actual support and probably NOT from NewEgg this time--so I am fine with that.

5 out of 5 eggsLINUX

Pros: Works with Fedora 16 linux (64bit) great, just plug in and it works. Also works with Windows XP (using driver from supplied CD)

Cons: Does not work with Ubuntu 11.10 or RHEL 6.2 (by simply pluging in and it works). Supplied CD has Windows drivers only, and no drivers on manufacturer website.

Other Thoughts: I am sure you could get it to work with other than Fedora linux distro's, but it would take some research and work, not just easy "plug and play".
