5 out of 5 eggsBest Wireless Adapter I've Owned

Pros: This adapter gets excellent reception and is very stable. It also works out of the box with most Linux distributions which is a plus because finding Linux drivers can be hard.

Cons: Not really a con but it's a good idea to get a USB extender or extender with a cradle. It's easy to damage as it sticks out pretty far. I broke mind because I didn't have one.

2 out of 5 eggsMalfunctioned too soon

Pros: Good signal strength & range
Compact design
Nicely packaged.

Cons: Malfunctioned within less than a year of usage.

My computer kept making the noise for when a device is connected and disconnected from a USB port and I was unable to connect to wireless networks with this device at that point.
Comes with an install disk. Plug and play would be better.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about the negative experience you have had using the UA150C USB adapter. Amped Wireless stands behind the quality of its products and does offer a 1 year warranty on all devices. 5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well With Linux

Pros: Easy setup and works with most Linux distributions.

Cons: Only con is it doesn't come with an extender cable. If put in the back it can easily be snapped off if the antenna is extended. Wish it came with a cradle extender so I could put it on the desk.

1 out of 5 eggsUltimately didn't work....

Pros: It "appeared" to work.

Cons: Followed instructions, everything seemed to be working fine. Acquired an IP, etc., etc. But, I couldn't use the internet at all. Very puzzling. I believe it was a combination of issues.
1) It was interfacing with an Airport Extreme.
2) It was connected to a Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5 Mac running 10.5.8. (don't laugh).

Even though this product said it was compatible, had the selection for this OS/Hardware in the installation software, it failed to work.

Then it cost me $18 of the $40 to send it back. NOT A GOOD DEAL.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with our adapter. The unit is compatible with the Power PC as well as the Intel. You may have installed the wrong driver. If it is not too late. please contact our US based Elite Support team and we can walk you through the install.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Strong powerful signal from my router, even picked up my neighbors routers from down the street almost 500 feet away.

Cons: Basically needs its own slot in the back of the rig because of the fact its an antenna.

Other Thoughts: Did I mention it picked up my neighbors router?

1 out of 5 eggsMoney =/= quality

Pros: It worked for a while, in fact it was a pretty good plug and play adaptor

Cons: When it stopped working about 2 months later, I look online to find that in order for me to get an RMA, I have to send the package back to the company with my own money. Which will run me the cost of buying a new adaptor in the first place. No thanks.

Other Thoughts: I thought I would get what I paid for...Think again.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry for you experience with your adapter. All our products are covered under warranty for up to a year. Our Warranty Policy is posted on our website.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Adapter!

Pros: This is a very compact and high tech piece of technology.

The amp inside the wireless Adapter actually does what its supposed to do.

-Range Massive

-Always at 90%-100%. **I have my wireless picking up the signal 1 story apart.
15-30 feet? I'm living on 3rd floor, and the router is below me on the 2nd floor.

-Can connect to other networks without a problem, and the reach is amazing.

Cons: Can jump down to 70% if the connection is unstable, but jumps back up to 90-100% in 1-4 seconds if you position into place. Not to bad.

Other Thoughts: I told my friend to get this device, because he had problems with his wireless card adapter that you install inside your computer.
Ever since he has been happy with his internet and noticed his internet become a lot faster.
I highly recommend this product to anyone who is having issues with their wireless card adapters.
