4 out of 5 eggsWorks as described

Pros: No extra accessories needed. Black and sleek design. Extends range to reach wireless signals by 3 times, as marked. Upgradeable antenna for even bigger range (sold separately). Software included. Easy setup.

Cons: USB cord is short considering the nature of this device. A small variety of wireless adapter property options.

Other Thoughts: A bit expensive for it's performance. However, very user friendly.

2 out of 5 eggsNeeds improvement

Pros: When device works, it works quite well. Having owned two (2) of these wireless adapters, I can attest to their quality of service until this month. Tech support is excellent.

Cons: I Own two of these wireless devices, both of which have failed to connect to the Internet within the last few weeks. Had to RMA the first, requesting tech support on the second over Thanksgiving Holiday.

All internal diagnostics and software diagnostics work and shows that the wireless device works and performing optimal.

***However, device does not work.

Had very good tech support from AMPED on first wireless problem.

They are currently on holiday for the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend for the second complaint on the second wireless adapter.

Other Thoughts: Electronic devices are always sensitive, however these particular devices should be more resilient to product problems for the amount of money that they cost.

Again, technical support is excellent, but when and if they are unable to talk you through all possibilities then they refer you to the RMA department.

If my second complaint is not addressed to my satisfaction, I will post a follow-up to this message.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with our router. We try very hard to provide the best support and service to all our customers and we are sorry to hear that you fell you did not get this kind of attention. If it is not too late send an email to techsupport@ampedwirless.com and we will make sure our Concierge can set you up for an RMA.

3 out of 5 eggsNot at all impressed

Pros: extra "amped" power boost is a cool thought, if it works....

Cons: Feels cheap and hollow. WAY to expensive for what it accomplishes. My Rosewill RNX-N180UBE for 20 bucks gets the same signals without dropping. Plugging in the second "amped" cord did absolutely nothing.

Other Thoughts: 3 times the price for nothing special. Really??

1 out of 5 eggsGreat...when it works

Pros: - Full bars even when only the main USB plug is used, router 40 ft away.
- Can get signal from the building across the street.

Cons: - Connection dies after two hours, it sees ZERO networks even though there are at least 10 in range. Have to disable/enable the adapter to fix the problem.
- Old drivers (based on Realtek drivers from from 3/10/2010) , no new updates on the Amped website since 1/24/2011. Even the Mac drivers are at least 7 months old
- Have to force the IP address in order for it to work with an older a/b/g D-Link wireless router.
- The USB socket on the adapter is a little iffy. Have to push it in real good to get a proper connection. Seems like it'd break fairly easily.

Other Thoughts: Windows update keeps peddling a newer version of the Realtek driver that this adapter is based on. Doesn't work well with it though.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about you frustraion with your adapter. Form your description, it seems like there may be a faulty connection to the hardware. Give our Amped Wireless Elite Support Team and we can help you determine if the USB connection is not working properly. Our devices are covered by warranty for up to 1 year. IF you have a faulty product we will replace it ASAP.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat USB Reciever

Pros: -Good signal.
-Fast speeds.
-One of the best $50 range receivers you can buy on the market.
-Almost compares with my LAN connection.
-Great for gaming.

Cons: Almost as expensive as my router. But, you pay for quality and performance. Not usb 3.0.

Other Thoughts: Usually USB receivers are terrible. This one breaks that reputation.
I get a 5ping on a 100 mile or less BF3 server playing on Ultra. Ping also depends on your internet service though!

5 out of 5 eggsWireless Adapter

Pros: A long time loyal customer of Newegg running 7 years, I’m deployed now over in the desert, when I got here and heard they had wifi, I was relieved.. Little did I know that the metal trailers we all lived in would turn fine wifi -> into horrible wifi inside. So I looked at this USB antenna to help me out. Well if I was lucky to get 1.. Unlikely 2 bars with my internal wireless in my laptop (rated at 50 mW) I would get 5 full bars on the signal meter when I hooked this 600 mW USB adapter up. I was blown away at the quality of the signal and the speed boost I gained just by keeping a constant uninterrupted connection. This product does exactly as it was designed… well worth the money I paid. The included instructions were idiot-proof and setup was simple and straight forward. And the product only got to me in 14 days time, incredible that Newegg does send to APO addresses and in a timely manner too. Another phenomenal service provided by Newegg. 5 stars across the board!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Well worth taking up to USB ports

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Wireless Adapter

Pros: Great connectivity, easy install, does exactly what product claims.

Cons: None that I've experienced.

Other Thoughts: Boosted signal strength significantly, my internet has never been faster I was debating on upping my speed with ISP but since bought this product there is no need I get faster speeds across the board gotta say if you are having trouble with internet dropping etc try this product out.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product that could be Great

Pros: I have an ASUS G73JH laptop and can see 8 wireless networks from where it's at in my house. Almost all connections other than my own router area 1-2 bars for signal strength.

I installed the software for the UA600 and plugged it in with just one of the USB cables to test it out like that first. I saw 28 networks available with around half of them being 3+ bars.

So the setup was simple, the product just plugged in and worked great with just the one USB cable. Customer service is in the US I discovered which was a very pleasant surprise. They were very helpful.

Cons: I plugged in the second USB cable and actually got 1 less network, though I realize that could be random. Point being, the second USB cable didn't make any sort of difference.

The wait to call customer service just to ask a simple question was around 30 minutes. I learned that the second cable only adds 100mW and that the main cable gives it 500mW. So I guess I don't understand why they didn't just make it a 500mW device and stick to just one USB cable instead of an awkward 2 USB cable connection. Maybe other people see a difference with both plugged in, I did not.

Other Thoughts: I think the product could have it's own little wireless management program you can access to see how it's functioning. It's possible I overlooked it somewhere, but it also would have been nice to know prior to calling them that the second cable only adds 100mW to the device.

I do hope these guys are around for a while as they've just become my go to vendor of choice for wireless networking products.

5 out of 5 eggsReally good performance

Pros: Always gets an excellent signal to my router even through pipes and two floors of duct-work and whatnot. The room it is used in is the worst in the house for wifi reception. My phone (HTC G2) drops wifi randomly and my Wii has trouble sometimes. My connection to my router has never dropped since I installed this. As I have Comcast my internet still drops all the time...not the adapter's fault.
Powering off USB is a nice feature. I use it for my old laptop sometimes and it is nice to not have to plug anything in. It does drain the battery quick when used on the laptop to watch Netflix.
Speeds are consistently good. I have been able to mount an ISO from the machine with this adapter onto my work laptop and install MS Office in about 50 minutes. took about 40 from disc.

Cons: The antenna portion is a little big and it would be nice to have more options for securing it to something. I use double sided tape. a screw hook on the back or clips or something to make it securely attach to a wall/furniture would be nice.
The activity light is way too bright. You can cover it up but it is nice to be able to see your connection working.

5 out of 5 eggsRange did increase over old USB adapter

Pros: Had linksys AE2500 dualband USB N adapter... only got 2-4 of 5 bars.. this thing always gives me a full 5 bars from the same location.

I'm streaming 720p and 1080p content without a problem

Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

Cons: I did get a ~5 second studder once while streaming a 2 hour 720p movie last night... but im not going to attribute that to this device yet. The studder could have been a number of other things

Other Thoughts: Recommend you try this is your old USB adapter is giving you moderate bars and you just need a little more range
