Amped Wireless SR150 High Power Wireless-150N Smart Repeater

Pros: I have had this hooked up in the attic of my second garage building to repeat the signal from the house. The attic is non-insulated and here in Colorado temperatures can be below 0 in the winter and over 100 degrees in the summer. This thing has been running constantly for over a year with out a single hiccup while being exposed to brutal temperatures. Perfect solution for streaming media into the music room of a second building to keep the party going. Use your brain and you won't have any problems, I did have to play around with placement of the repeater to find the sweet spot of getting a solid signal.

Cons: None

Pros: Looks cool

Cons: Interface, GUI access, configuration and configuration options are all poor and very frustrating to use. Reboots needed after minor changes are too frequent and reboot times are WAY too long. Even with the latest firmware I find the device too frustrating to use anymore. I am buying something different

Pros: They promissed 3-6 days, it was here the next morning!!!

Cons: no Cons

Pros: The Repeater was shipped from another state but it was in our shop within 3 days... how does that happen!?!?!? However they do it I'm happy! Repeater works like a charm!

Cons: No complaints!

Pros: Abel who is concierge #113 spent over two hours on the phone trying to resolve my issues with the repeater. He was very professional, knowledgeable and patient as he would not give up or share my frustrations as he tried to provide solution after solution. The repeater needs to be sent back under warranty as it would not "unjam" or reset.

Cons: The SR150 was not updated with the new firmware and thus did not work when there was a power outage due to storms. I would have to reboot and find the new IP address and channel number which was an inconvience.

Pros: Extends Wifi to large range
Tech Support somewhat responsive

Cons: Manual incomplete
Setup instructions poor
Speed dropoff 75%

Other Thoughts: I've had this for a little over a month. I have worked with tech support for about 2 weeks of this. This product sets up fairly easy, but the instructions are poor and require a fair amount of tinkering.

Further, upon setup, this extender does not allow you to hardset the channel, it has to mirror the main router. This means that rather than a seamless network, you now have 2 different wifi options in your home. MAIN and MAIN-Extended (for example).

This means you will have to select MAIN-extended manually if your signal from MAIN is less than desired. While not difficult to accomplish, this is still an inconvenience and a ridiculous requirement of this device.

Further, and this is the reason I am returning this for a refund: The speed drop-off is in the 75% range. I get about 30 mbs Down with my network. In connecting to this, I get 8. It's reasonable to assume some sort of dropoff, that's normal. But this is 75%...three-quarters speed. That's unreasonable, by any standards.

Log in to the Web Interface for your router and change to a channel with less interference.

Pros: Works well when it works. Usually a couple of days.

Cons: Keeps dropping the connection. It has to be rebooted every several days. Updated firmware as they suggested, still no success, then they gave me a way to set it so it doesn't do this and it bricked the unit. It won't even reset. I asked for help several times and then asked if I could return it to them for them to fix to see if I can at least save some of my investment , but now there is only total silence.

Pros: Works great when it actually connects. hopefully they will release another firmware update soon to fix the rest of the network droppage issues. till then this is a 3 egg unit

Cons: After i updated the firmware this unit started to work better with less wi-fi droped signals but still seems to need to be restarted or resetup once a day. its not the issue with dropping the repeated signal but the actual repeater network crashing and disconnecting. much less now though since the firmware update.

Other Thoughts: Im using this on 220v 50hz euro power that is constantly having brown and blackout power issues so its a horrible enviroment for it. If you cant connect you may need to reset power reset network settings through the wizard or just a internet services restart on your unit. its not an issue with dropping the repeated signal once again but the actual repeated network just dying at random.

Pros: Extend the range of a network

Cons: Disconnects and I can't run the setup again after resetting. Called customer service and they only work till 5 pm business days, so if you have a problem Friday night, you will have to wait till Monday to get an answer!! Horrible!!

Pros: When it is connected it works great connection is strong. Again when it stays connected.

Cons: It seems to disconnect at least twice a day with the router. it would be fine if it disconnected once but it seems to get worse.
