The AV3000 Amped Wireless A/V Net Connect connects your Internet-ready audio and video devices, such as Blu-ray players, game consoles, Internet-ready TVs and more, to your home WiFi network for Internet access. The A/V Net Connect eliminates the need to run Ethernet cables to your media center by creating a connection to your home WiFi network using built in WiFi amplifiers to ensure a reliable connection that’s fast enough for HD media streaming and online gaming. The A/V Net Connect connects to your A/V devices using the five (5) Ethernet ports on the back panel. In addition, the A/V Net Connect also boosts and repeats the WiFi signal from your home WiFi network so that other WiFi enabled A/V devices can connect to the A/V Net Connect for a more reliable connection.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems solid; might need some more tweaking

Pros: Excellent documentation, easy web browser setup, smooth network detection, excellent customer service

Cons: Dropped connection to the internet (though connection to the network was still valid). After calling tech support (thanks, Chelsa!), got it up and running again -- but it is currently *painfully* slow.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: I'm no technology wiz and was able to set this gadget up without a problem. I pay my neighbor to use his internet and his signal wasn't reaching all the way across my apartment. Now I get 2-3 bars where I used to not have any signal at all!

Cons: If there is a glitch in the signal you have to reconnect the pc to the gadget and reprogram. Takes about 5 minutes. Happened already once and I just started using it today (hence the four stars). If this is an occasional issue I don't really mind, but if I'm futzing with it every day, my rating will go down.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks ok

Pros: Easy setup, using for a remote room with wired PC and Printer and response time is almost as good as being wired direct to main router.

Cons: My cable company seems to drop my IP every 3-4 days and each time I have to set up the AV3000 again, what a pain - seems it can't remember how it was last set and just start up that way. This would be really lame in a setup with no normally connected hard-wired browser.

Other Thoughts: Applied the latest firmware in the hopes it would fix the re-setup problem but it did not.

5 out of 5 eggsQuick Install

Pros: Very quick setup. I had the unit working in 10 minutes or so. Signal is strong, consistent and I have had no hassles since install. I can now use Iphones, Ipads, laptops, and internet tv in the last third of my home.

Signal is amazingly strong and gives me solid HD streaming when needed.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this unit to friends due to ease of use and reliability over the last six months. This unit exceeded my expectations.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Range - Easy Set Up

Pros: Easy set up and no hassle finding my wifi network. Helped extend my wireless to the last third of my 6500 sq. ft. home. Signal is strong and consistent.

Cons: None after nearly 6 months of use.

Other Thoughts: I had been reading reviews of other units and this one seemed to have good overall ratings. I tried it and was not disappointed. I had the unit up and running in about 10-12 minutes, but am familiar with wireless networks.

My home has three stories and I am considering another one to boost the signal for my 70" 3D Aquos in the basement. I would recommend this unit to friends or family. It works extremely well.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor Range...Doesn'twork with all devices!

Pros: Easy Default Setup.
Great Marketing.

Cons: Very Poor Range (30feet max).
Doesn't work with 1/2 of my wireless devices.
Difficult to get communication with this unit to customize settings.

Other Thoughts: I'm buying another Wireless bridge since this one does not work with 1/2 of my wireless devices. For some reason, they do not connect to it or will connect and then drop the signal again and again. These same devices have no problem connecting to other access points so the problem is with this specific unit.

Also, the signal strength is pathetic! Less than 20 feet away on only through two walls, I am down to one bar on my iPhone, laptop, internet TV, and Kindle. Very disappointed.

Also, I connected this bridge to my desktop and have little success accessing it as directed in the instructions. Perhaps it is just me, but you should have fair warning in case such happens to you.

Even though I purchased this item from elsewhere before NewEgg carried it, hopefully my review still has merit.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry for you negative experience with your repeater. Each repeater has an amplification of 100 mW, which is twice the power of you average router. There is a chance that your repeater may have had a damaged radio, but it is more likely that the 2 wall you were trying to pass had materials that obstructed the ability of radio wave to pass through. A quick call to our US based Amped Wireless Elite Support team and we could have helped resolve your issues with the signal, or replaced your unit.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Setup was a breeze. Insert disk and go. Easy to configure. Connected Xbox, blue Ray player. Worked like a charm. Able to stream video from my desk top through X-box media center.

No need to run wires. Extended home wireless network to reach entire house. So, I'm also using it to connect with my laptop.

Only difficulty was upgrading firmware. Quick call to Amped support solved my error in minutes.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Why buy anything else. Why buy anywhere else.
