Pros: Easy to install and manage

Cons: Everything else. I put one of these access points in my office for the advertised better coverage and signal and I'm not seeing it. Not seeing it at all. I even purchased the special antenna they say boosts the signal and once again that added no better coverage or signal. Also once like 4 or 5 people connect to this device no one else can. Seriously this device maxes out at like 4 or 5 connections. Stay clear Also the internal clock is always way off and needs to be set like 3 times a day of you plan on using schedules with it..

I've had better luck with $30 routers I purchased from Wal-Mart. This item doesn't not even come close to living up to the claims the manufacturer makes when it comes to coverage and signal performance. I've worked with Tech Support and they weren't much help. Also don't fall for purchasing the "stronger" antenna they sell. That's useless too

Cons: The provided ethernet cableis too short if you want to set up the access point in a different room from where the router is.
I am nitpicking, but a better wall mount or stand also would be better.

Other Thoughts: not sure why others have reported problems with this. I was able to link it using normal network cables to my router as they are 30 feet apart the provided cable would have been too short.

Pros: Easy to setup. Was up and running in less than 5 minutes. I wasn't able to use the web interface IP address that they provided. I figured out my router gave it a different IP address and used that and accessed it perfectly. So if you can't access it, see what IP your router assigned it. I didn't really see this as a con

Cons: After 4 weeks I can't see any. All 3 that I purchased are working great.

Other Thoughts: I own my own computer service company and I was skeptical at first purchasing a no name brand, but with the good reviews others left I thought I'd try it. I am very pleased with the performance of this unit. It covers the entire upstairs with extended wi-fi. I was so pleased I purchased 2 more for computer customers and they are equally happy with this.

Pros: Easy set up but ONLY via wireless link.

Other Thoughts: Setup was a bit confusing until I fully understood that the initial setup can ONLY be accomplished via a wireless link. This seems a bit odd, but it's the only way to get it done. It seems plenty fast and provides coverage over both levels of our house with the WAP at on end of the house.

Pros: Eggcellent range, instant connectivity, no more problems with Apple iPads wifi recognition anymore after firmware upgrade.

Cons: Need to upgrade to Firmware Version v1.2e.03 to make it an eggcellent product - see other thoughts below:

Other Thoughts: When I first got this product for a home single wifi Access Point months ago I almost threw it in the trash can. Microsoft or Intel products would connect just fine but it would take minutes for any iPads to connect to it's wifi. However, after upgrading the firmware that specifically addressed Apple connectivity issues, this item now rocks! Range is great! As an afterthought I would set the channel to 11 as pretty much all your neighbor's 2.4ghz channels default to 6.

Pros: Great customer service. Very responsive.

Cons: 1) Their interface is confusing and not advanced enough. No explanations of the various options and there exists no site map outside the terrible wizard.

2) I bought this based that this repeater utilized both antennas. I needed this to occur because I was bringing the network over from my other house across the driveway. However, after talking to the service team, they informed me that only one antenna works and the other is a backup when demand is high. This completely goes against why I bought this. To me this was a bait and switch situation. Not going with this company again.

Other Thoughts: This would be a great company to do business with if they would not lie in their advertising of the product. However, I will not get suckered into this again. I now have to buy a router to repeat the signal in the house. This adds to the expense.

Pros: It has a nice strong wifi signal.

Cons: It uses non-standard rj45 cables that one must buy or make. It doesn't have normal DHCP which was not addressed in the advertising. Turns out I cannot use this AP from my dsl modem as wifi AP and wired switch because DHCP will not serve IP info. I'm returning this product.

Other Thoughts: I contacted Amped tech support, so they won't add to my complaint that I didn't give them a chance. They responded: "it's not meant to provide DHCP that should come from your router." Okay.

We are sorry to hear about your negative experience. Our AP does support DHCP. It can function as a Server, Client, or you can disable and set a static IP. To enable as a server go to More Settings | IP settings and change the DHCP mode to Server. From there you must adjust the Client range to what ever IP scheme you and your router are on. This will serve IP address to any connected clients.

Pros: Easy Setup. Thats all

Cons: Very bad coverage. Wireless connection very spotty. Stay away.

Pros: Good range. Works reliably.

Cons: Does not support Bonjour protocol. Thus, cannot use AirPrint or other similar services with iPhone, etc. Tech support claims they are working on it and there will be a firmware update. But, no expected release date was given.

Other Thoughts: Accessing the setup menu was difficult. Once connected, however, the rest of setup was easy.

Pros: Long range

Cons: The instructions don't tell you that you can't use a regular patch cable that has all 8 pins wired. If you do, it screws up the AP with all kinds of blinking lights on the thing. You HAVE to use their cable which only has 4 of the pins wired. Plugging into a cisco switch with all 8 pins wired (no PoE) will make you do a hard reset on it.

They also don't tell you that the configuration is not compatible with the Firefox web browser on a Mac. If you try to change the IP address, you can't save your settings using the Firefox browser.

Other Thoughts: If you are ok with the default settings of having an IP address of 192.168.1.240, you only have one AP and you are ok with it now being your DHCP server, then I guess it's ok. I spent 6 hours trying to get ONE of these stupid things working uncovering this companies horrible QA processes. Seems they just ship stuff out and will let the customer figure out the issues. Can't use a regular patch cable?! COME ON!!!

We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with your repeater. Our devices use Passive PoE and only when the device is connected to a device that has a power output of greater than 50v. The AP will power down so the extra power will not blow up the circuit board. If the AP is powering off, you can use any cat5 cable with a Ethernet coupler. This will resolve any issues you have with the PoE. In regard to the DHCP on this device, once it is connected to your router it will become a client and forwarding agent. DHCP is an option, but you do not have to use it this way. The default IP changes as the AP becomes a member of the network. If you would like to disable DHCP altogether, set the repeater up with a static IP on your subnet.
