5 out of 5 eggsNice!

Pros: Very good signal strength, easy setup.

Cons: Ugly! Annoying blue LED's.

Other Thoughts: I think it's funny that people complain about the cradle that holds this unit vertically, like it's too much trouble to put a dab of glue on it or some double sided tape...

Anyway, this router completely smashes the brand new Netgear Wireless N router that I bought a few months ago. It replaced an aging G router that finally bit the dust, but the new Netgear had about 20 feet of range.

With this router, I get full signal strength anywhere on my property, and this is exactly what I was looking for.

3 out of 5 eggsMixed Emotions

Pros: It delivers the power and range, as advertised. Very easy to set up for basic network configuration. I wanted a power wireless router, and I got it. I also like that I can swap out the factory antennae for bigger/better ones.

Cons: Inadequate documentation: not enough details about specific options within the feature sets. I wanted to know more about the VLAN configuration, but didn't get anything useful from the interface or from their tech support via e-mail. Their replies boiled down to this: "If you don't know what it does, don't touch it." Not helpful.

"Smart Features" aren't all that smart. Parental controls, access schedules, IP/MAC access control, VLAN, QoS, etc. Are all there -- good! The bad news is that they don't work all that well, and only work globally -- not granular to each Guest network or VLAN. I wanted to set up a separate network for my kids with parental controls and access schedules, different from those for grownups and A/V devices. I was disappointed to find out that you can't do that. The smart features are "all or none" configurations.

I was especially disappointed by the QoS smart feature. Simply enabling it brought performance down to a crawl, for all clients -- and I hadn't even configured any yet.

Minor nitpicks that say "amateur hour", not "professional":
1. Blue led status indicators that aren't labelled (later found information in the PDF) -- hardly useful for at-a-glance diagnostics.
2. System clock has SERIOUS mental illness -- it's fast or slow by DAYS, not hours/minutes. This is made all the worse that it doesn't have native NTP support to keep itself sync'ed (heck, my oldest, cheapest Belkins had that). So I have to routinely check the clock and sync from a client, when troubleshooting issues.
3. "Reboot Now" button appears after pretty much any configuration change, and I quickly learned that you cannot make changes to multiple configuration pages unless you reboot between them. For example, when you enable a guest network, you have to Reboot Now for that change to take effect; and then you can switch to the Security page to configure the security parameters for that guest network, and Reboot Now... AGAIN. Lather, rinse, repeat for each ASP page that has configuration settings.
4. The management interface is mostly decent, but a couple of things could be made better. Accessing major features like Guest networks through a small gray button that's lumped in with all of the other Wireless settings is NOT obvious, and even counter-intuitive. Separating Security parameters on a different page than the other settings (and requiring Reboot Now! between them) isn't user-friendly, either. And having to use a small drop-down menu to toggle between the Main and Guest networks is obscure and took me awhile to figure out.

Other Thoughts: Ultimately, I had to settle for a very basic, single-network configuration that delivers good power and range. Trying to use any of the advanced features was frustrating, and diminished overall performance. If you want raw POWER on a SINGLE network, the R10000 delivers. But if you also want flexible features and granular controls, the R10000 falls short. I like the R10000, really I do -- but I'm disappointed that it isn't as richly-featured as I expected for the price.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I bought this Amped wireless R10000G router because of its high power dual amplifiers, antennas boost wi-fi performance and extreme wireless coverage. Setup was easy but had conflicting ip addresses. I called the Amped technical support and spoke with Albert with Concierge #116 and received an excellent support from him. it feels so good to get a technical support person who knows his stuff, who has a very good knowledge of the product in question. Albert is a genius, he resolved the issue within minutes and I am now enjoying the router for those reasons for which I bought it. Thanks to you Albert, A++.

Cons: None!

3 out of 5 eggsGood but not Great!

Pros: Great Speed! A whole lot better than my Belkin router I use to have.

Cons: Range is not that great! Will need to upgrade for the outdoor antenna. The bottom holder will not stay fit with the router since its pretty loose.

Other Thoughts: You get what you paid for!

5 out of 5 eggsRouter

Pros: Ease of setup. Had an issue and worked with
Abel - Concierge # 113
who identified the issues and helped as a tech should in a non condasending way. He was professional and extremely quick in the positive resolution that i needed.

Cons: nothing really, the stand for the router should have either tape or a screw as it is not a snug fit

Other Thoughts: Amped stands behind product

1 out of 5 eggsPros and Cons of Amped Wireless R10000

Pros: Pretty blue lights.

Cons: * Product base doesn't fit the router strong enough. The router slips out of the base with 4 LAN cables, power cable, modem cable. Too flimsy.

* Sadly, no better wireless signal than devices half it's price. I don't mind paying more for good signal, but the existing router and this router were the exact same signal strength.

* I read their support to tighten antennea more, however, then one of them broke. In my over decade of experience, no antennea has broken before like that.

* Blue status lights are cool, but none of the lights on the front are marked, so you no idea of what is working and what isn't. (wireless, LAN, on/off, etc.). I looked for stickers to put on the router. I didn't expect any, but at least it would've solved the problem.

* If you have to call support to make it work, why wouldn't I just stick with a router at half the cost and it just works out of the box?

Other Thoughts: My expectations were high as the other reviews seemed favorable and I was looking for a stronger signal for my client. However, the flimsy base, no better signal, and a bunch of flashing lights with no labels doesn't reach the quality level of what I am looking for. I have had very few returns to Newegg and this is one of the few.

5 out of 5 eggsAmped Wireless High Power Router

Pros: The unit came with easy setup instructions which assisted in an easy router configuration. Just follow the setup and in a very short time you have a fully functional router. The range increase was dramatic compared to what I had with Lynksys wireless G that I had before. This is a much better buy for the money to get more wireless coverage. The thing I like the most is that the antennas are external to the box and allows me to change them to something different if I wish. However the antennas that came with the unit worked just fine. I also have my setup working with the SR10000 High power Smart Repeater. I used the repeater to extend my wireless coverage and used the wired connections to my remote wired network connections. I did contact technical support for questions. The person I spoke with was someone in the USA and was able to tell me what I wanted without any hassle at all. What a Plus that is today.

Cons: Better Client information needs to be added to the Management side of the router. The only place I could find anything was in the wireless setup, Basic setup . Then check what clients are connected.

Other Thoughts: I found that to get the higher end speeds make sure that your network drivers on your PC wireless network cards are set for a 40MHZ. I found that even though I had N cards they were preset to only 20mhz Don’t worry about not being able to work at N speeds because this is only a 2.4GHZ unit that is not true. I have been running at 260MPS at closer range and still run at 165MPS at over 200 feet away, through walls and other obstacles.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product!

Pros: This router is fast and strong! Easy setup and connection. Never dropped signal. This router is installed in a 5500sq ft home and provides a constant 3-5 bars and great stregnth. I have these installed in multiple clients homes and no complaints yet!

Cons: Not sure about the 10000sg ft range. To possibly pull this off you might need to connect the SB1000 Booster.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Excellent link quality despite reviews listed above. Very good wall penetration; works as advertised using the omni-directional antennae. Overheating not an issue thus far despite the strong 600mw radios.

Cons: Interface is somewhat limited in terms of routing tables and or advanced networking features (NAS, port triggering, ARP tables, print sharing via USB etc), lacks gigabit LAN.

Other Thoughts: Overall very solid, perhaps not the best choice for media/file sharing as it lacks gigabit however exceptionally stable wireless link for gaming and or other media streaming.
