5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Support

Pros: Great support!

Cons: Electronics present a new range of headaches.

Other Thoughts: Had an issue with my Amped Wireless AP20000G a few weeks ago - suddenly stopped working. I reached out to the Amped Tech Support team and Yohannes got me back up and running. Overall, excellent experience and I am a happy AP20000G owner. Excellent Tech Support.

5 out of 5 eggsAmped Wireless AP20000G High Power Wireless-N 600mW Access Point

Pros: Did everything it supposed to, I disable DHCP and use static IP, works great , never enable DHCP so can't comment on that

Cons: 5G band does not have the reach like 2.4G, I guess that is not the unit fault, physic dictates, little expensive just for addition of 5g radio (114.99) compare to 2.4 only (74.99)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Access Point

Pros: Nice strong signal, decent range on 5GHz. Easy to set-up once your in the GUI

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: The two ways provided to access the user interface did not work for me, they did not specify to do a direct hook up from PC to set up. Although I was able to find the device on my router list. There I was able to locate it under the clients section and just clicked on the devices local IP address

5 out of 5 eggsToo Easy!!

Pros: Setup was extremely easy. No "log onto this IP and follow this cryptic menu". It is almost a "plug-n-play" setup and does exactly what I want. Note that my configuration is as a hard-wired repeater at the far end and main floor of a ranch home with the main router in the basement. This unit really blasts out a fantastic signal over a wide area when using a hard-wired ethernet connection.

Cons: It won't wash my cat and did not come with beer or winning lottery tickets!!

Other Thoughts: Before I bought this, I called Amps tech support and told them what my situation was and what I wanted to accomplish. Instead of the model I was looking at, they pointed me to this one as having the coverage I needed and assured me it would be a very easy setup. Bingo!! Right on all points.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as described.

Pros: Setup was a minor challenge as the unit wants to automatically configure for your network settings.
Strong signal throughout 3000sf house.

Cons: High price.
Minor: Did not want this device to auto configure.

Other Thoughts: Replaced my DLink 615 for better wifi signal.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid, Easy Setup, Improved Speed over gateway device

Pros: Nice package, ethernet cable included
Setup was easy, AP picked up DHCP from network and then connected to factory SSID with password. I have a DNS server and DHCP so, the ap.ampedwireless.com will not work for me, so I just did an ip config on desktop and it populated the DNS with the AP address not mine and connected via ip address and configured.

Cons: Guest networks, I won't use anyways
Web Interface could be better, menus are arranged so you have click down into

Other Thoughts: I have a two story brick home with hardwood floors and i have placed this on the first floor behind 55" plasma and connections upstairs are 300mbps and will pull files around 6-7 MB/s. I was using my motorola sbg6580 gateway and the wireless would not stream video from my hdhomerun tuner with flicker and skips, now it works like a charm.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for multi-storey homeowners and larger properties!

Pros: Would buy it again and will recommend to coworkers, friends, and relatives. Great range!! Very stable connections. I put one in my basement with my DSL router so the wife would stop complaining about all the blinking lights..great coverage even on 2nd floor of house. Now everyone tries to find it because the signal is so strong they think it's sitting next to them. Pairs very well with multiple WRT320N routers running DD-WRT acting as 5-port 5ghz wireless bridges.

Cons: Plastic case. Not supported by DD-WRT. No support for 802.11ac.

Other Thoughts: This is great for large houses and would probably work well for farms and ranches.

1 out of 5 eggsdidn't work; RMA time

Pros: none - didn't function - should be 0 eggs

Cons: Had a good chat with support, and we concluded that the unit was internally "damaged" somehow. Internal board seemed zapped from what the lights on the unit displayed (WPS, USB stuck on; no network activity) So, will be requesting an RMA :(

Other Thoughts: This is not a cheap unit so I was hoping for good coverage (and expected good quality control), but instead will be spending extra time and $$ to return.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: As a high power multiband access point it works.

Cons: The unit has "guest" accounts. Unfortunately the guest accounts do not restrict the guest from accessing all other information on a business or personal network. The Amped routers apparently are, however, able to segregate guest users from private files.

Other Thoughts: For my intended purpose it fails but that is not to say that it is unsuitable for use without guest users.
