Extend your existing WiFi.

The ZuniConnect ZR301 Wireless Router is a unique device that will easily allow you to extend your existing WiFi signal. ZuniDigital’s setup wizard makes this unit simple to setup in extender or WISP mode, and if your needs change, simply change your settings. Don’t waste money buying anything else.

  • newegg The Power of N-Standard WiFi Imagine using your tablet or laptop in the back areas of your home, on your patio, by your pool, anywhere your current WiFi does not have a strong signal. Play games, browse the internet, listen to music, watch video, even let your smart phone use your existing WiFi. For those with older WiFi devices the ZuniConnect Extender is fully compatible with Wireless G and B equipment.
  • newegg Transfer Faster With N WiFi, speed abounds throughout your network. Connect to your existing router and extend the signal to where you need it. Use your network at faster speed without the bottlenecks from distant routers.
  • newegg Green Power The ZR301 utilizes 5 volt USB power to reduce power consumption. At 3 watts ZuniDigital uses far less energy than our competitors, without sacrificing performance. With a lower power setting, there is less radiation emitted from the router, making your world safer.
  • newegg Extended Coverage The ZuniConnect ZR301 uses Multiple in, Multiple Out MIMO technology, to provide superior coverage and reduce the signal reflections that confuse ordinary wireless technologies. Our aim is to reduce dead spots within your network.
  • newegg Sleek Design The ZR301 uses a small package to deliver superior performance. Why take up shelf space for a device to provide your network signal when we can do the same for so much less. Placing a boxy extender seldom fits in with home décor, thus why do you have to see an extender to know it is working. The old boxy models are so 1990.

4 out of 5 eggsZuniDigital ZR301F

Pros: -Does what it says it will do.

-Boosts my signal tremendously

-Small and efficient

-Still running strong over a year later

Cons: -When running a CAT5E from router to server it does not like to keep the LAN light connected. Have tested this with 4 Ethernet cables and its just how they sit in the port, fixed it by taking a rubber band and keeping it pulled back so the contacts would touch.

Other Thoughts: Pretty good router, I only took off one egg because of the connectivity issue. If they ever fix this or bring the product back to newegg I would buy it again.

1 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted...

Pros: Amazing device. Ability to configure this device rivals just about any other cable/dsl router I have seen. The small size made it perfect to travel with and has been a great asset.

Cons: It didnt last long. I had it from Feb 2012 to December 2012 and it just died. Not even a year worth of use. I'm hoping I can get it replace under warranty. If not, I may take a chance on buying another one.

1 out of 5 eggsPointless as anything outher than Wired to Wireless

Pros: Tiny

POE when plugged into a laptop.

Functions on par with a Wireless NIC for a desktop, and you use a Cat 5e cord to plug it into a wired port and move your "antenna" around to find the best signal within reach, as opposed to just having one stick out of the back of your tower.

Cons: The "Range extender" function does't work, at least not for me. It did not improve signal, or signal range, at all.

Barely functions as a router.

Doesnt weigh enough to be a paper weight.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this product as anything other than a replacement for a broken Wifi card in a laptop, and even then you'd probably be better served by a USB one.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

Pros: I bought this for a trip to a friends house in Hawaii that had cable but no wireless. The Zuni was easy to set up, worked great with good range (surprisingly), and enabled me to use my laptop, kindle and nook in the house and outside on the lanai.

Cons: None that I can think off except I always want a lower price.

Other Thoughts: Solid product.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good

Pros: It works. I've tested it in both the Wireless Router and Bridge/Extender modes. It seems to work well in both of those modes. Fast!

Cons: It does get a little toasty, but not too bad for a device crammed into that small of a package. Also, you have to reboot the device after every configuration change. Fortunately, you can keep clicking "Reboot Later" until you're done configuring the device.

Other Thoughts: I'm currently using this to give me my own personal hotspot in the office because our wireless connection sucks. Like I stated before, the device does get a little toasty when in operation. Although, it doesn't get much hotter than say an iPhone or the Raspberry Pi. Just make sure you don't cover up the ventilation holes, and you should be good. If something breaks, I'll edit this review or post another one.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Compact, easy set-up, simple to use when a full router is not needed.

Cons: Bought 3 units:
First failed after a week - overheated, shorted out. Case melted near power connection.
Second quit after 15 minutes.
Third runs hot; returning all three.

Other Thoughts: This _could_ be a production batch problem - I suspect a wrong component in the 5V-3.3V regulator, but I'll spend a couple bucks more in the future.

2 out of 5 eggsShort-lived!

Pros: Easy set-up, worked well for 2 1/2 weeks.

Cons: Died after 2 1/2 weeks. No lights, no nothin'.

Other Thoughts: We'll see how their support does. I'll be happy if they send me another and it LASTS!

1 out of 5 eggsMoney Wasted

Pros: Works well as a wireless router when connected directly to my modem. I actually get better speeds than from my Linksys E1200.

Cons: As a range extender, the signal is actually weaker than the router that it's connected to.

5 out of 5 eggsno brainer

Pros: range is decent, but i don't need it any further than 40. easy to set up, but if you have a switch/box/something with other Ethernet cables, you have to have it plugged into the computer for the set up, cant have it plugged into the box and try to set it up. you can have a password or no password, hell, you dont even really need to set it up, but you might want to...

Cons: after a few days, started disconnecting randomly. graved the thing and noticed it was really hot. i believe it was because of the heat it would disconnect. fixed it.

Other Thoughts: fixed the disconnection problem via turning down the power through the set up. i havent tried the other settings for the power, but having it at 35% works consistently and keeps it nice and cool
