1 out of 5 eggsFast but unstable

Pros: Very fast when connected and excellent range. Antennas swivel and fold and the unit has slots for wall mounting.

Cons: Should have followed my gut on this one. Standard Belkin junk. Randomly fails to identify available networks (it doesn't just lose one or two networks, it simply cannot find any networks). Antenna issue as stated by others.

Other Thoughts: The antenna problem is due to interference with standard PCI case slots. You can remedy the issue by using a sharp knife to trim excess plastic from both of the long sides on the edge that attaches to the PCI card. I removed approximately 2mm of plastic from both sides and the plug now has a very solid connection to the card.

The manufacturer should have never released this design, but at least the fix is simple.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer beware

Pros: Its inexpensive.

Cons: Its a nightmare otherwise. The antenna connector won't stay in, I can't connect to my network for more than 5 minutes. I've fallen back to a wired connection. Complete waste of money. No real support on the Belkin site, I can't even find drivers.

1 out of 5 eggsWouldn't recommend to my worst enemy...buy the USB Adapter instead

Pros: Easy install...software install takes about 5 minutes and only takes about a minute to install the card once you have the side off of your computer. So easy anyone can do it!

Cons: The card appears to have a lot of defect issues. I was sent two different cards, both V2, running on Windows XP Service Pack 2 32-bit system. It would pick up my network and 3-others in the neighborhood and hold the signal for about 2-3 minutes and then lose the network and could no longer find any networks, even with a restart. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software with no luck. I moved the computer and connected it to my cable direct to download updates and still no better. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times in different ports. Spent hours on the phone with tech support...the first time they told me it was defective and to get a replacement, on the second one after hours on the phone they finally gave up and told me to call HP and ask them why my computer wouldn't run their hardware. I even purchased the Rosewell Antenna and this didn't help any. I sent it back and got the Belkin USB N+ Adapter Model F5D8055. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: The Belkin N+ USB Adapter Model F5D8055 is a much better chioce. The first one arrived DOA. The computer couldn't find it and it never powered up. Connected direct to cable and looked for updates but it didn't find any and didn't help with finding the software. Reinstalled all USB drivers and tested them to make sure it wasn't my USB ports. Tried adapter on another computer with Vista to make sure it was dead. Was a little worried about Belkin at this point. Tech support after about an hour of trying everything I already tried told me the chip must be defective & to send back for a replacement. The second one installed and picked up the network immediately and found 4 other networks in the neighborhood (1 more than the internal card). Held the connection for several hours without dropping. Speeds are averaging about 260-270mbps. The USB is a cleaner install and a better choice b/c if you need to change computers, you just install the software and connect the adapter.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Recommeded

Pros: Cheap

Cons: I work in 802.11 penetration testing and have a very high understanding of wireless technology. This product simply didn't work - it detected the existence of wireless networks, but would not connect to any of them with the latest drivers downloaded, using either the native driver, or the windows zero config servive. This was for my daughter's PC, so I didn't bother trying it in another O/S where it probably wouldn't have worked anyway.
The antenna doesn't even "click" or stay properly in the connector, pushing it firmly in, I could see the networks in my neighborhood, but I think the only way to get this to work would be to use no encryption, or maybe WEP, which I'm not prepared to do.

Other Thoughts: Found the link via a dealnews link, was probably too good to be true.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Product for Win 7 64Bit

Pros: None

Cons: -Did not work
-Crashed the OS on every restart
-Drivers aren't updated
-Cheap push-on connection for the antenna

Other Thoughts: Picked up a Linksys, packaged with correct drivers and quality hardware, no issues what so ever.

4 out of 5 eggsBelkin F5D8001 Wirless Adapter

Pros: I got it for the fantastic price of $15.00. Easy installation on Windows 7 64 bit. I just plugged it in and found a 64 bit Atheros AR5001 Driver online and used that in the device manager. Everything works great, granted my router is about 15 ft. from the desktop.

Cons: The antenna has an awkward connection at the back. It does not screw in like most adapters I have used in the past; it has three connectors that you have to really force in and there is no "click" to let you know when they are seated correctly. I kept losing connections until I realized the antenna had come loose in the back. But when I reconnected I had full signal again.

Other Thoughts: If you can pick this up for around $15-20 then go for it. I have not tested out the range because I don't need to. Also it plays nicely with Windows 7 64 bit if you have the correct driver. (Atheros AR5001, just google it).

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: Wirelessly connect to everything, because thats the trend and lets face it, no more wires!!

Cons: This thing is junk...for me atleast. Drivers wouldn't load, Running WinXp SP3. It locked up my computer on 5 install tries. I should have known not to by something other than Linksys, but I couldn't pass up opportunity to clean up the octopus behind the PC. Now I cant ship it back because it was sooo cheap that the return shipping is more than the unit. The cool "antenna" system is comes with is WAY too short for any useful placement.

Other Thoughts: This card looks cool but is no good. Hope others have more luck with it than me.

2 out of 5 eggsJust OK

Pros: Works well on Wireless N. Bought the card for 20 bucks on newegg.

Cons: BELKIN DRIVERS FOR VISTA x64 do NOT work. I dont care what these people on here say. It doesnt work and youre going to think the card is malfunctioning.

Other Thoughts: I thought the car was malfunctioning but its actually the drivers. I had to research this issue for 2 hours before I found that you need the atheros_v8.0.0.14 drivers. Even with the drivers you dont get the full functionality of the card but you do get to connect at a fast rate. Youre going to pull your hair out if you dont know what youre doing.

4 out of 5 eggsPeople are not so bright...

Pros: Once you get set up, if you have the proper router, the speed is excellent.

Cons: Older version (1000 series), may have connection issues, but none yet.

Other Thoughts: People with little technical knowledge (or general skill, apparently), or are just lazy ruin the value of reviews for the rest of us. 'egg reviews have been damaged by this. Example: Crimp the shield/outer on each of the three antenna connections just a tiny amount and the thing fits perfectly, snugly. On the other hand, perhaps I should thank you silly folks for helping to drive the price down.
