1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the price

Pros: Easy setup

Cons: Not anywhere near as good as other offering which advertise slower speed.

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 sets of these to replace my older 200mbps power line adapters (from another company) for higher speed transfers. After plugging them in and testing out HD video streaming I was shocked to see it constantly stuttering and unwatchable over the new powerline adapters. I even updated all four to the latest firmware and tried again. I tried swapping them out, only hooking up two at a time etc. and the HD video was still unwatchable with these new supposedly faster adapters. Plugged my old 200mbps adapters back in to the same power plugs with the same equipment and the HD video streamed flawlessly again. So much for an upgrade...

5 out of 5 eggsPlug In and Use, Idiot Proof.

Pros: Plugged it in by router, walked to other room and plugged it in. By the time I went back to the first one they were paired and my ps3 was connected to the internet.

Fast.

Cons: No options to buy just one extra, must buy two at a time.

Other Thoughts: You can connect up to 8 of these bad boys, the more you add the stronger the network and speed gets. I'm planning on running 6 of these with several devices off each one. They are amazing.

YOU WILL NOT GET 1gbps. BUT... they are way faster and securer then wifi.

5 out of 5 eggsFar better than wireless

Pros: Much more reliable than wireless especially when live somewhere with tons of wireless networks around (using different channel didn't help). About two times faster than wireless 802.11N in practice for me.

Cons: They get hot which probably will affect life time the hardware.

Other Thoughts: I moved to a place with lots of wireless networks around. I use DIR655 router and the speed I get with is 2MB/s. Changing channel didn't help. I first tried Belkin powerline 500mbps from B*stB*y I got around 4MB/s. But it cost me 137 bucks. After I found a used Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit at A*az*n for 50 bucks (used) I had to return first one. This one gives around 5-5.5MB/s from bedroom to living room of my three bedroom condo. It's far more reliable than wireless.

4 out of 5 eggsresponse to other review

Pros: Definitely better than the wireless adapter i had attached to my media player.

Cons: limitations of dependability on the house wiring to be at peak performance

Other Thoughts: This is just a quick thought. The speed that you get depends on a lot of different things other than the units themselves. For one, make sure to use cat6 cable and not the cat5 they usually come with. Two, if its going though a router or switch that is not rated at more than 200Mbps then you won't get anymore than that. Third is the condition of the wiring your house and how many other appliances and things are running at the time. The list can go on but these are some big ones to check.

1 out of 5 eggsPowerline is a fundementally flawed technology.

Pros: No cables, more consistent than wireless
Very easy to setup.

Cons: Basically doesn't live up to claims.
Gets less than 200 megabits speed.
1st line support is worthless - asks basic questions.

May update review when second line rings back, but i expect this is an undelying issue with the powerine technology. - See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: These are getting less than 200 megabits per second - as evidenced by the flashing light on the front. Yes i know one shouldn't expect full 1 gigabit but this is 1/5th the advertised performance. I will try in other properties to see if it is something about this propery but i had simillar experiences with the netgear HDX01 in two different properties where i got only about 1/3 of the advertised speed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: works great fast speed. we have a large house and my bedroom is the farthest away from the cable coming into our house. with power-line i can stream and fully use the our high speed cable easy to install

Cons: if you have more than on electrical utility box it does not work well.
