** The standard transmission rates - 150Mbps (for 2.4 GHz), 300Mbps (for 5Ghz), and 11Mbps - are the physical data rates. Actual data throughput will be lower and may depend on the mix of wireless products used.

*Test measured average throughput within a home network when connected devices are placed at various distances from router. The Belkin router had the highest average throughput at measurements greater than 30 feet. Leading routers were determined by identifying the most commonly purchased routers that collectively accounted for a majority of router sales. The stated transmission rate is the physical data rate. Actual data throughput will be lower. Actual speed and distance will vary depending on interference, network traffic, building materials, and other environmental factors.

4 out of 5 eggsGood router bad media server

Pros: This router has been great especially for the price.

I have owned this router for almost two years. I moved to Washington left my beloved Netgear at my house in Maryland at first had bought another router a D Link that worked flawless but wasn't dual band and once I was setup here I wanted dual band. I saw this cheap at one of the big box stores and bought it.

I've had Belkin products in the past. The router I had from them before didn't hold up too well. Actually none of the routers I've had besides the Netgear WNDR3700 which I had purchased when it first came out.have held up good. Note the D Link only got used for a months and is in the closet it worked fine for what it was. The failures were from TrendNet, Linksys and Belkin.

Obviously I have had this one for almost two years now and it has worked great. I almost never have to do anything with it and normally when I do a restart it was from the cable modem or DSL modem I was using not the router but I did a complete network restart.

I have had great range, I live in an apartment and have multiple devices through the house hooked up wireless and they all connect with a strong signal from anywhere from 5 feet to 30 feet through multiple walls away from the router. I also have two laptops 1 wireless n150 1 wireless g and a table wireless n which get a strong enough signal outside in the courtyard from 60' away with no true noticeable speed drop, they can stream Netflix or from the network drive. After the first Belkin router which didn't even last 6 months this one has pleasant surprised me. The Netgear was better but when I bought the Netgear it was double the price and only a little bit better.

I have read some of the reviews and complaints about wireless printing, can't comment on that as I have a Brother wireless printer that doesn't need to use the router as a server.

Cons: I have one complaint about this router and that is the built in media server. Not sure if it works for some but for me if I use it for DLNA it doesn't have the capability to recognize all my files because of its limitations on the amount of files it can recognize.

I contacted Belkin and I forget what the exact number was but the media server can only recognize so many files and I have tens of thousands of files on my 2 TB hard drive from family photos, videos to MP3s. This makes the media server useless to me because when trying to navigate through my main TV a 55" Samsung and any of the other DLNA equipment I have from Sony and Panasonic they only pickup part of the files in my family photo folder and none of the video or MP3s can be accessed.. I have found ways around this, my 55" I have a gaming PC so I use it.

I'm going to hopefully bypass that issues totally by make a small media server in the near future hopefully SSD prices will drop to where they are affordable to use also.

Other Thoughts: I can't complain overall. I've learned a lot over the last five years about wireless network setup. My problems with other routers were fatal problems so they weren't from lack of knowledge. Problems I have had since I have had this router besides the media server.were caused by two of the USB wireless adapters I have had both were Linksys and I will be staying away from their products from now on. They both had frequent over heating problems even with modifications. (removing their cases) When I replaced the adapters any of the problems I was having vanished.

I read reviews on here about this router having speed or distance problems and because of my experience with it I have to wonder if it isn't the wireless device on the other end and these people just don't realize it. My wife's laptop has had issues not just here but other places so I bought a USB wireless N adapter and now she never has any problems. I have had no connection problems with my network for almost a year after replacing my troubled wireless adapters.

I rated this 4 eggs taking away one egg for the media server. I have put a lot of praise on this device because that has been my experience with it for the nearly two years I have owned it. My next router probably will be another Belkin which I wouldn't have thought that when I bought this one.

5 out of 5 eggsGood router so far

Pros: Working well so far. Fairly strong signal with 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz. I bought it to replace my low-end previous generation router and coverage is much better.

Cons: None really, I'll update this if anything comes up.

Other Thoughts: I find that this has been well worth the price.

1 out of 5 eggsTERRIBLE

Pros: Works well WHILE it's working.

Cons: Boots every device or computer I have off of the internet after only a few minutes. At first, I was having to hard restart the router every day or two. After using it for almost a month now, I'm having to restart it multiple times a night. I'm literally not joking.

To elaborate, I'm getting IP conflict errors upon connection *sometimes*, but usually it just boots me when I try to load a webpage or randomly while playing a game. The problem is even starting to happen over LAN as well, and I'm getting pretty angry about it.

I've been disconnected about 5 times in the last hour. In fact, as I type this, I'm seeing a live internet feed go on and off on my second monitor as my connection fluctuates. WHY BELKIN? WHY????

A router is just supposed to work. This is beyond ridiculous.

DO NOT BUY this product.

Other Thoughts: Read above.

4 out of 5 eggsNot new router

Pros: Dual-band at great price
Great tech support from Belkin

Cons: Refurbished Item
No Cd
open guest log in

Other Thoughts: This item is not new but, a refurbished piece. There is no set up cd in package. Using Belkin support was easy and quick. Router works as advertised 2.4ghz and 5ghz running well. Able to assign by logon . 8 items running no slow down set 3 on 5ghz 5 on 2.4 ghz. Have to close the guest login or anyone has access.

1 out of 5 eggsVery limited range

Pros: Very fast when in range.
USB print and storage is very nice
Dual Bands.
Flexible yet easy to set up.

Cons: Limited range. Going through a couple sheet rock walls, the router will drop connection at 25 feet. I have never experience the problem with other 6 routers (different brand). Changing channels did not help.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy.

5 out of 5 eggsindeed the coolest case

Pros: Easy to set up, over abundance of screws, great options for running cords through back, and great air flow. *Many fans* The more the better in my book and you can always take unwanted ones out. All run extremely quiet.

Cons: None so far, but haven't owned long. I was worried when receiving this product as there was a hole in the box and it wasn't shipped within another box...just the case box. But understandable and not worth taking off an egg since there was no damage.

Other Thoughts: This is apparently the case to get for coolest temperatures, and it sure does beat my old case but I'm sure there are better options, but this was the best bang for my buck.

1 out of 5 eggsBad News

Pros: Absolutely NONE

Cons: I got this router for christmas last year to replace my old TPLink router which only had 54mpbs speed, but it still worked like a charm. I decided it was time for an upgrade. I bought this...bad decision. When I was playing games on steam, it would lag out the internet, and continue onwards with lag spikes. I thought it was my internet provider but I have the most expensive plan, which means I got the highest speeds from their service, but this piece of garbage ruins it all.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY.

3 out of 5 eggsNice router but....

Pros: Nice straightforward N router. The dual band function was the selling point for me and it was definitely an upgrade from my old Netgear G router which served me well for the last 6 years or so.

Cons: One major flaw: inconsistent and sometimes even non existent performance with Apple's Bonjour. This would be things like airplay, AirPrint, homesharing, etc...
What's interesting is the biggest problem I have is AirPrint. The Airplay functions work... usually. But the AirPrint functionality is consistently.... well.... inconsistent.

Other Thoughts: Basically, it's a decent N router with dual band. But if you work with mostly apple products and rely heavily on the Bonjour protocol, I would look into other routers. This is what I am unfortunately having to do.

3 out of 5 eggsUSB/Printing is Horrible

Pros: Th wireless connection for the normal surfing and networking is fine.

Cons: The USB printing is horrible! I always received an print error trying to print wirelessly. Very frustrating! It will print, however, but not what I had sent to the printer. Just multiple smiley faces, which just wasting my papers. I turn off the printer and the router multiple times and still doesn't fix the problem. I should have just spent a little more and purchased a print server instead. My D-Link printer server lasted for over 3 years with no issues.

Other Thoughts: As stated above, the router work fine but the printing sucks! I DO NOT recommend this router because the USB port is useless.
