** The standard transmission rates - 150Mbps (for 2.4 GHz), 300Mbps (for 5Ghz), and 11Mbps - are the physical data rates. Actual data throughput will be lower and may depend on the mix of wireless products used.

*Test measured average throughput within a home network when connected devices are placed at various distances from router. The Belkin router had the highest average throughput at measurements greater than 30 feet. Leading routers were determined by identifying the most commonly purchased routers that collectively accounted for a majority of router sales. The stated transmission rate is the physical data rate. Actual data throughput will be lower. Actual speed and distance will vary depending on interference, network traffic, building materials, and other environmental factors.

3 out of 5 eggsNice router but....

Pros: Nice straightforward N router. The dual band function was the selling point for me and it was definitely an upgrade from my old Netgear G router which served me well for the last 6 years or so.

Cons: One major flaw: inconsistent and sometimes even non existent performance with Apple's Bonjour. This would be things like airplay, AirPrint, homesharing, etc...
What's interesting is the biggest problem I have is AirPrint. The Airplay functions work... usually. But the AirPrint functionality is consistently.... well.... inconsistent.

Other Thoughts: Basically, it's a decent N router with dual band. But if you work with mostly apple products and rely heavily on the Bonjour protocol, I would look into other routers. This is what I am unfortunately having to do.

3 out of 5 eggsUSB/Printing is Horrible

Pros: Th wireless connection for the normal surfing and networking is fine.

Cons: The USB printing is horrible! I always received an print error trying to print wirelessly. Very frustrating! It will print, however, but not what I had sent to the printer. Just multiple smiley faces, which just wasting my papers. I turn off the printer and the router multiple times and still doesn't fix the problem. I should have just spent a little more and purchased a print server instead. My D-Link printer server lasted for over 3 years with no issues.

Other Thoughts: As stated above, the router work fine but the printing sucks! I DO NOT recommend this router because the USB port is useless.

4 out of 5 eggsAlright, setup easy

Pros: This is a pretty good AP/router.
The setup was easy, web interface is fairly modern.

Cons: Disappointing range. Price/value not great.

Other Thoughts: Will need to purchase a range extender which is a bummer since it doesn't get any better range/coverage than the 10 year old Linksys blue box it replaced.
Good to update the wireless hardware now and again....

3 out of 5 eggsMislead by the Egg

Pros: Decent speeds. Dual Band

Cons: No Gigabit!

Other Thoughts: This was advertised in 11/2012 as having Gigabit and now I found out it doesn't. Newegg told me to pound sand and Belkin is not responsive. This is still advertised on a couple of websites as having Gigabit so I think this was Belkin's fault. Back in the day the Egg was a reputable place. They have lost their edge.

2 out of 5 eggsNot all NIC's created equal

Pros: With any system this connects to, the connection is great, though it doesn't quite have the phenominal range advertised. The onboard NIC on my Windows 7 system and an old Dell Inspiron Wireless can connect to the router flawlessly.

Cons: This unit apparently has issue's that crop up with Intel based Network cards, as it does on our Vista system. I had to set the card to 10Mbps/Full Duplex just to get a connection. Lastly, our XBox 360 will not connect to it at all.

Other Thoughts: I'm pretty far from a master of all things networking, but I know enough that a home network shouldn't be this much of a problem. As with LinkSys, in which every unit I've owned from them I've eventually had connection drop issue's, I will now add Belkin to the list of router manufacturer's to stay away from.

3 out of 5 eggsPerfromance seems to depend on the amount of traffic

Pros: When I had 1 roommate, this unit worked flawlessly for the two of us (2 pc's, 2 smartphones).

Cons: Now I live with 3 other guys, so often we have 3 of 4 computers and 3 or 4 smartphones on it... it drops connections a lot when this is the case. One guy is hardwired in, he gets dropped just as often as the rest of us on wireless.

it drops even more if some people on on 2.4 ghz and some on 5 ghz, so everyone uses the 2.4 only, effictively rendering 5 useless in a high traffic area.

Other Thoughts: Each firmware update has improved performance noticeably actually. So Belkin releasing good software (with a lot of frivolous things probably 1 in 100 users actually utilize). This just wasn't powerful enough for 3-4 techy people at a time.

I'd also note, don't bank on the traffic management software.... as with most routers, its just garbage that doesn't really work.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Router in Every Way

Pros: Easy Set Up
Good wireless throughout large house
Works with every device (Roku, Apple, Tablet, PC)
Takes heavy traffic well (multiple netflix streams plus internet use on other devices at same time)
Never needs a reset (well, once after power went out)
Wireless never drops

Cons: Requires CD to do install.

Other Thoughts: Super happy with router. Everything worked right out of the box and has kept working

3 out of 5 eggsstatic

Pros: got this to replace an older unit that still wroks it connects easiloy and very simple setup once connect wirelessly. setup with provided password then it offers chance to change it during setup and it easy

Cons: after connecting this the phone developed a static in it that was not present with previous router and every hour to 2 hours would drop connection, after a minute or 2 would be abvle to reconnect

Other Thoughts: guess I will stick with the old Linksys router that has been top rated for past several years can't go wrong with it and it is cheaper
