1 out of 5 eggsOnly connects once with Windows XP

Pros: Cheap

Cons: This card only connects the first time wth Windows XP, and then never again I tried WEP 64 bit, WEP 128 bit, and WPA and nothing worked. I even tried reinstalling Windows !!!! I spent over an hour with technical support who put me through the hoops trying out different things I had already tried. They finally offered me an RMA to exchange for the same one !!!!! I told them that the hardware works, not the software, so what's the point of getting the same one but they wouldn't get it.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is fantastic- they gave me a credit for it even though it's not their fault

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's cheap and pretty automatic drivers. Quite user friendly.

Cons: I cannot get this to connect to a WPA Secured Network.

Other Thoughts: I tried to connect to a WPA Secured Network, but it couldn't connect to it. I tried it again a few times while connecting to the same network without WPA. It works that way, even with WEP, but not WPA.

5 out of 5 eggsRead First

Pros: Seems to be a great card, picks up my wireless easy 54mbps from about 40-60 feet

Cons: You might have problems connecting to secured networks, There is a setting!!!(Read Other Thoughts)

Other Thoughts: When connecting to a secure network, go to the ADVANCED options, I couldn't get an ip address, poked in there, checked the Cisco connection setting, and it is working fine now!
Maybe only because I have a Linksys router and they're by cisco, but if you are having trouble, TRY THIS FIRST!

1 out of 5 eggsSteer clear!!

Pros: Cheap! Got it at a third price as a shellshocker deal.
And it's tiny and easy to install (physically).

Cons: Absolutely awful drivers! At least for windows 7 32-bit
The driver's that came with the cd work for only one boot.
Install driver > reboot > works > reboot again > do not work again.
I've uninstalled this and tried it again several times. Now it blue screens on me after the initial working first boot until I go into safe mode and remove the device from Device Mangler.

Other Thoughts: The card itself doesn't seem bad. Perhaps they will develop better drivers for it. But my experiences with Belkin drivers have been nothing but awful. I will never buy one of their products again because every time getting the drivers to work is a nightmare.

5 out of 5 eggsPicking up many signals

Pros: Bought for a friend and he is able to share a signal with his neighbor. A pretty cool deal for them considering he only has to pay for one third of the service. A great alternative to share expenses.

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsBelkin, there is no excuse for this!

Pros: Installed fine on a 32-bit OS fine. For 64-bit on Win 7 you will need to use the Atheros driver. So small it won't restrict airflow.

Cons: Signal at 10ft away is 2 out of 5 bars and a whopping 0.5mb/sec. Just imagine if it had to go through TWO walls I knew Belkin's networking items were on the low end but this is shameful.

Other Thoughts: I also received the v8000 which looks nothing like what is pictured here. Aside from the radio the card is barren. No chipset, not so much a resistor. Go to Belkin's site to verify for yourself. I think the packaging cost more than the production cost of this card.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap

Cons: I've had this card for quite some time and have used it in several computers. Sometimes it works okay, sometimes it doesn't. This card has been very unreliable and I would not recommend purchasing it.

5 out of 5 eggsNice, Easy To Install

Pros: This card is very easy to install. It took me about a minute. Insert CD, run the Installer, Shutdown, Insert Card, And Boot Up.. Then your done. Also, I like the fact that the antenna on the back is very small.

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst wireless card ever!

Pros: Good driver support for ubuntu 9.10

Cons: Can barely connect to my access point. Which is 50 feet away. Every other wireless device I have has absolutely no problems. This gets about 5kps throughput.

Other Thoughts: Maybe it is just a problem with the antenna? I am not sure though. I would suggest to anyone considering this card that they instead purchase something else.

1 out of 5 eggsPay a bit more and get something that works!

Pros: -cheap

Cons: -terrible drivers
-constantly disconnects
-poor wireless range

Other Thoughts: This wireless card is cheaper than its competitors, but when it doesn't work the way you want it to work then it is junk. Pay a bit more and get a Linksys card and never worry about losing a connection again.
